Dear Friends, Family & To All Who Will Be Guided To Read This:
My name is Trever Schapers. I am a recent graduate of the Vitalist Program at Original Herbal Remedies. As a budding herbalist, I am actively and potentially seeking to expand my knowledge to help my friends, family and my community, to assist them in reclaiming their health! This program is AMAZING — NOTHING COMPARES to the Quality and Content of this course! I sought out many schools that specialize in herbalism in the vincinty of New York and the universe pointed me here, to OHR in Jamaica, Queens.
I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to all the teachers who devote their time and energy into this program. The school founder, Master Herbalist and Core Teacher of the Vitalist and Master Herbalist Program, Zola Kojo is a gifted woman with A HEART OF GOLD. Zola devotes her time and enery to serving those within her community and all who walk into Orginal Herbal Remedies are WELCOME!
The Vitalist Program– Foundational to the Master Herbalist Program, Shed light on a wide variety of important topics that are life changing and life saving. I wish I had consumed this knowledge earlier in life or even in college. A vital subject we discussed in class was indetifying the difference between Conventional and Organic Farming Practices. In contrast to conventional farming, Organic Farmers are required to practice strict orthodox methods. Composting is an organic farming practice that helps to enrich the soil with minerals, without compromising the integrity of the soil by using harmful pesticides, Genetically Modified Organisms and other chemicals to treat the soil. There is something to be said and experienced when humans have a RELATIONSHIP and CONNECTION with the the spirit of the land. Knowledge of how to heal the land is a blessing and in return we heal ourselves! The earth is alive and nature wants to have a relationship with us!!! We are all created from the 5 elements (it’s basic chemistry) earth, air, fire, water, ether. We are all
children of the earth and stuards of the land! We learned that plants can communicate with us, intuitively, they are just as alive as we are. Each plant possesses their own Beauty, Wisdom and Intelligence that they want to share with us!!! How honored we should be to know them!!!
As a student body, we experienced the many benefits of practicing meditation on a daily basis. We gained awareness and insight pertaining to eating processed foods and how it not only effects our bodies in a negative way but also (contributes to obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, neuro-​endocrine disorders, depression, anxiety) and effects our emotional state when we over indulge in eating foods that contain: bleached white flour, refined sugars, caffeine, commercial table salt, preservatives & other shelf stabilizers. We learned the benefits of eating a raw/​vegan plant based diet and got to delight in sampling delicious meals prepared by Master Herbalist Zola Kojo & Staff.
Each lessoned learned was a GREAT PEARL OF WISDOM; Wisdom that is severly lacking within the structure and practices of Modern Medicine. The Vitalist Program teaches it’s students and anyone who desires to learn how nature provides for us in ways that modern medicine fails. We learned each system of the human body and how to break down concepts relating to the actual cause of disease and why it is vital to connect and build awareness to major contributing factors of disease such as ENVIRONMENT, STRESS, DIET & LIFESTYLE CHOICES.
I learned here as a Vitalist that there is an abundance of wisdom that lies within God’s Creation (Mother Earth). In closing, I highly recommend this school and also the herbal store. Orginial Herbal Remedies is run professionally and the store and staff are very organized. I am always greeted and approached with a high standard of customer service and everyone behind the counter is well educated on all the products that the store has to offer and I love that OHR specializes in creating their own unique blend of signature teas and salves for just about anything and everything — There is something here for everyone!!! I would give this Herbal Remedies shop 5 stars (cause it really deserves it) but the costs for most of the items are pretty high. Expect to spend $ 40 bucks or more for two to three items. I guess it’s worth it because the items seem to be of high quality.
