I just came from my first visit to The Orchid Man. I had emailed with Sydney Jo and finally took my plant over today to see if it needed repotting. Like many who have received orchids as gifts, I have done my best to research and learn but… I’m a nervous novice. Sydney Jo told me it didn’t actually need repotting yet, pruned it for me, tucked all the aerial roots under a nice new layer of moss on top of the potting medium and shined up the leaves with a spray. I bought some orchid food and was on my way in only 15 minutes. I love this orchid and really want it to continue thriving. They were so nice and caring, I felt like I had found a good neighborhood vet for my cat or dog!

I have gone twice to the Orchid Man in desperate moments of not knowing what was wrong with my plants and the two times they have been wonderfully helpful and caring with my plants offering their advice and support. I travel from far downtown just to go to them. I’m so grateful for Orchid Man!

Oh boy. this place is pricey. I wish i read the review earlier that said to bring your own vase. I bought a small orchid that was $ 25 and with the vase, it came to $ 55.
I should have just walked the extra 10 minutes to Whole Foods which offers up a comparable selection of orchids at half the price. Since I was in a time crunch, I settled on a small, overpriced but beautiful purple orchid.

I had good service and the owner took his time with me to pick out the orchid plant in my price range. The only down fall is that the particular orchid I bought is dying quickly despite the perfect care I have given it. Indirect sunlight and a few ice cubes once a week to let it absorb the water slowly and to not overwater. Regardless, the plant is dying quickly and it’s only been 2 weeks.

A paradise for orchid lovers !!!
I get my orchids since last year from this place and they always bring me joy. The orchids last for about 6 weeks @ $ 35 (for the ones I get). Its better than buying fresh flowers every week…
Bring your own vase/​container and they can arrange it very nice for you.
