This is a small little place hidden in the food court beneath the Plaza Hotel. If you walk too fast you might miss it. They have a small amount of seating for dining. We found a deal on Groupon or living social I can’t remember which one. If you are new to caviar just be prepared for expensive fish eggs. For what it is, it was pretty tasty. Nice and sadly served on top of a micro pancake and a glass of wine. It’s a nice cozy and quiet spot for a date.

Gotta say — sorely disappointed with this place. The service was awful(slow), the employees were rude and the food was average at best.

Every time we visit the Plaza, we stop for Macarons at The Plaza Food Hall. On this occasion, we stopped at Olma Caviar Boutique for caviar, in addition to our traditional Macarons. We opted for the sampler trio and were pleased with the decision, although I have made a mental note to omit the crème fraîche in the future. The customer service was very good. The caviar was excellent and served appropriately. The experience was wonderful. I look forward to my next caviar visit!

Beautiful place, amazing caviar, I visited several times and brought my mom and my boyfriend. The place has caviar that range from affordable caviar types like hackleback, paddlefish to sturgeon, osetra and beluga. Beluga is the rarest and most expensive one. I personally love the Russian osetra and paddlefish. I think they have very strong and flavorful taste. Strangely, I don’t like the beluga as much, even though it’s the real upper class of caviar. Every time I go I either order the American trio, which comes with three blinis, crème fraîche and three types of American caviar. It only costs 20 $ without tax, so it’s a good deal. It also includes paddlefish, my favorite. Another good option is the whole tasting experience for 80 $. The order includes all seven types of caviar available in the store, on a slightly smaller blini compared to American trio. If you like a specific type of caviar, you can order the platter, which comes with generous portion of one kind of caviar accompanied by blinis, mini baguettes and biscuits. I also tried the foie gras and raspberry blini as well as salmon roe blini. Both are great. I want to come back for more menu items like sandwiches and crab cake later. But I have to say, I like this little place and I will be back soon. Tip: there’s a SUPER comfortable sofa in the back.

I came across this place on Groupon, but then I didn’t buy the deal. Well, I couldn’t help but stopped in while visiting NYC this past weekend, since I have never been to «The Plaza Food Hall.» Curiosity kicked in and I ended up getting the Combo Delicatessen Trio($ 13) and added 1 order of the Bowfin black caviar(even though bowfin is the same price as the red salmon caviar — $ 5 — they do not allow substitution on the trio when I asked if I could have bowfin instead of the red caviar). I am a caviar newbie, and this place allows for affordable tasting. I don’t mind forking out $ 20 just to find out what I may be missing out. The portion was big enough to really have a taste. And let’s just say they tasted very salty. I can see why champagne will be a good companion for caviar tasting. My favorite was the foie gras. It’s a sizable thick slice of creamy richness. The smoked salmon lox was a good portion too. For the price, I was happy with the value — and they served as great«snacks» before my lunch. Service was a little slow but this is not a place you should rush through. The place is a little cramped for seating, and luckily we had no problem with getting a small table. Overall I think this is a great spot for trying something new.

Olma is located in the food hall in the basement of the Plaza Hotel. The food hall is quite a scene, filled with gourmet stalls and definitely worth a walk around. Olma is tucked away on one side with a counter and a few tables. There are two workers and seating for about five couples so go when it’s not crowded. I went there with two friends on a Sunday late afternoon and we were almost the only ones there. We were there to use two Groupons which gave us one serving of American caviar and two glasses of Prosecco, and one serving of Osetra caviar and two glasses of Tattinger champagne. They honored the Groupons with no fuss and service was very friendly. Each serving of caviar came as dollops on six small blinis. It was all delicious, especially with the Prosecco and champagne. If you’re a fan of caviar, this is a good way to have a taste without putting too big a dent in your wallet.

After being treated very rudely at the Palm Court at the Plaza Hotel upstairs, my boyfriend and I decided to get lunch at Olma Caviar Bar downstairs. We really enjoyed our experience and our delicious salmon lox sandwiches and drinks. The service was fantastic and the only reason I am bringing this down to 4 stars is that there is hardly any seating /the seating arrangement is chaotic. Other than the limited seating, this place is great and serves some delicious food.

The boutique and bar is located in the shops in the plaza(or whatever it’s called), which generally has a nice, classy feel to it. It does feel luxurious, and was a nice pick me up to my week! I had a Groupon deal here that promised 2 glasses of sparkling wine and a trio of American caviar. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had 2 of each kind of caviar in the trio(so total 6 blinis)! It was a good value — and I’d gladly come here without the Groupon again. On top of the Groupon goodies, we also ordered a lox sandwich and a foie gras sandwich. I loved both! The service here was good — polite and prompt. They also sell tins of caviar and mother of pearl spoons. Come here and feel fancy!

Simple caviar bar in probably the fanciest food court in the city. I used a Groupon for the American Trio. They served a small assortment of bowfin, paddle fish, and hackleback caviar on 6 blinis. It was my first time eating caviar so I can’t comment in-depth but I really enjoyed it. Service was also great as they accepted the groupon without any issues and were willing to substitute the sparkling wine for a non-alcoholic drink. Great place to indulge!
