Everything is beautiful and terrific and lovely— it’s a well-stocked print lover’s dream, and visitors are free to browse. The only problem is the prices: most are sky-high, though some good contemporary work can be purchased unframed for a few hundred dollars. Alas! Much of this artwork was a lot cheaper years ago, but I guess a lot of the competition has gone out of business and this work is again deservedly in fashion. If you love beautiful artwork and price is no object, you’ll have a wonderful time here. Very informative web site with good images.

This review is more for the framing business inside of the shop. I like the selection of prints at the store, and I love that they are a business that adds charm to this section of Lexington in Kips Bay. The framing service not so much. Very pricey and was told it would take 4 weeks. Stopped by to check on status after 4 weeks passed, and framing proprietor practically stops me from talking and says, «It takes 4 weeks.» I say, «Yes, I believe it is past 4 weeks.» She looks up my ticket. «Oh. You’re right, it’s been 5. It’s not ready and I have no excuse for you. I will call you when it is ready.» Bad service, price was significantly more than the actual piece AND I had to pay in advance. I feel taken advantage of, and not treated with respect. Will not make the same mistake again.

Lots of awesome prints, maps etc. from really old(think 1800s) to really new. a cross between a museum, a library, and a print shop. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly too.

This place is very cool. It has been around since 1898 and is a one of a kind type of place. It has a great selection of antique maps, prints, and lithographs that you won’t find in very many other places in the world. You can purchase some very affordable prints for a few hundred dollars or buy original pieces for thousands of dollars. I saw an original lithograph of San Francisco from 1849 that was priced at $ 10,000. I also saw some originals from the likes of John James Audubon, but was afraid to even asked the price. Kill a few hours here some time; Definitely worth a visit and you are free to browse through the extensive collection.
