Wanted a quiet place for ramen for my family and this little gem came out. Ramen was really tasty, and sushi(my niece wanted it) was particularly good. Fresh ingredients, relatively inexpensive menu and quiet ambiance closed the deal. The staff can be a bit more nice, their english is not really up to par… but overall they were ok.

This is exactly the restaurant I’ve been waiting to join the neighborhood. I’m not a huge sushi person but my friends are so I’m always looking for a place where they can get sushi but I can get other things like hibachi vegetables, udon, Tex. This was the perfect combo. My boyfriend got the sushi lovers platter and pretty sure he loved the platter more than he loves me. I had vegetable udon noodles — I loved the sauce on the noodles and it was a nice size portion. The prices were reasonable. It was ~$ 35ish for a quick dinner for the two of us. I’ll be back.

It’s with great reluctance that I give a restaurant two stars but the food quality was so poor that it’s the best that I can offer. My friend and I came here because of the excellent reviews and sadly because of their great presentation. We were both craving sushi so we ordered the Sushi and Sashimi Combo(2) which came with an assortment of sashimi, nigiri, a spicy tuna roll, and a California roll. In the most polite way possible, I can only say that the quality was horrendous. All of the fish was tough and all of the rolls were impossible to pick up because the rice would fall apart. This made for slow eating and we ended up being unable to finish it not because we were full but because it was so disappointing. A lot of the reviews praise the sushi, but if they ordered the American-style rolls then it’s quite easy to conceal the quality of the fish with the overpowering flavors of the sriracha, spicy mayo, and such. Aside from that, the service was excellent and the presentation was also excellent. But coming here was definitely not worth it since I left the restaurant wondering if I would get food poisoning.

Not a good sushi place. My girlfriend was very nauseous after we went. The only things that were edible: seaweed salad and cooked lobster tempura sushi. Avoid eating raw fish here, it’s poor quality and might make you sick.

This is the second time we are here because Tomoe Sushi was too long of a wait. Glad we came here. I had the«Pink Lady» and the«Thompson Roll». They were both fantastic. Pink Lady may be the best specialty roll I have eaten anywhere! I think once more people find out about this place the lines and wait will be here instead of down the street.

This place is fantastic. My new sushi go-to in Manhattan, hands down. The sashimi, the special rolls, the tartare, the miso. All incredible. Highly recommend the aptly named Amazing Roll.

Good sushi. Good service. Good pricing. I comfortably enjoyed my sushi plate, while receiving attention from the waiter and manager, but not feeling rushed — lots of seats. This is a good, «go to», when in the area and getting that hankering for some sushi.

ASIANPEOPLE, DON’T COMEHERE. Basically, this place is fake Japanese food. My family owns one of these places in a small town elsewhere(that is obviously better). First of all, I misread their online menu and was looking at their lunch prices instead of dinner prices and thought they were quite cheap for dinner so I went. When I got there, I saw that the hibachi prices in-store are $ 15 – 22, which is crazy high even for NYC considering the food is inauthentic and not really good. I was so shocked and considering not even ordering from there, but I thought I’d give it a try anyway. RAGRETS. Note that I had wisdom tooth removal surgery the previous week, and I was slowly weaning myself back on solid food. I wanted hibachi because this is one of the few places in the city that I’ve found to have it. This place had 4 ½ stars when I was looking on Unilocal,so even though I was skeptical, I gave it a chance. I ordered the hibachi shrimp priced at $ 15.95, which came out to &17+. There was a man dressed in business casual at the register whom I assume to be a manager/owner who took my order. He was not exactly pleasant and didn’t say much, nor did he try to be friendly. The order didn’t take long, but this was also a Tuesday night at 9PM. There were only two other customers there. The food came with the shrimp and vegetables, white rice, and miso soup. I’m pretty sure the menu says FRIED rice and FRIED vegetables, but the vegetables were steamed and tasteless, and I received WHITE rice. I ordered the shrimp because I thought it would be easier to chew than steak(again, the surgery), but I was wrong. The shrimp was hard and chewy and not light and crunchy like I expected – very overcooked. The food came drizzled in a sauce that I can only identify as teriyaki sauce, even though I ordered hibachi and not the teriyaki option. That sauce was the only thing giving the food the flavor because it would’ve been tasteless otherwise. The only thing they didn’t mess up on was the miso soup, and that’s only because it’s VERY hard to mess that up. Again, I do not recommend any person who enjoys good food to come here because the food here legitimately made me angry.

This place is new, so hopefully my complaints about the inexperienced staff will improve over time. The waitress accidentally gave our appetizer to the table next to us, so we had an awesome seafood salad on the house– one of the most interesting, lightly flavored foods I’ve ever eaten. Sushi was great, sake was great. I recommend the salmon tempura roll and the sashimi bento box. An older man tended to all of our concerns. He was very personable and a cool dude to talk to.

I love love love this place. The sushi is fresh and yummy, they’ve got great lunch specials and an a great happy hour. The staff is very friendly, attentive and so hospitable! My favorites are the peppered tuna, shoyu ramen, and I’d like to mention that this is the only place I’ll order mackerel from. I saw in another review that someone felt they were being rushed, I think they are confusing attentiveness with rushing. There are some servers that will fly by frequently to see if you’re still working on your plate, but they’re just making sure that you are well taken care of, have everything you want and are not sitting there staring at an empty plate.

Beautiful presentation with the sushi. The atmosphere is cool and clean, but nothing special, which reflects the prices. They are some of the lowest prices I’ve seen with sushi places in New York, and for most places for that matter. Their sake tasted awesome too! Staff was very friendly!

Awesome sauce. The waiter Steve was a smooth cool person. He explained the best entrees and was just cool overall. Everyone that served us were also really nice I had the chicken teriyaki bento box which I couldn’t even finish because I loved the appetizers and the little side dishes. The layout of the food was very well decorated. The Japanese soda is a must try!!! MUST I say! For dessert the fried cheese cake made the end of the meal just grand. It was an awesome mix of hot and cold.

Food is not bad but the service is sooooo bad. When we are still working on our food, they want to take it away for few time. Instead of enjoying the food, we have to deal with the server all the time. Don’t come here if you’d like better service and food. There are tons of good restaurant around this area.

We just passed by and decided very spontaneous to go in for dinner. A decision for which we are definitely happy and thankful about; the food is just amazing. The sushi was fantasic and the soup one of the best I had until now. Thank you for your hospitality and for the sake :) We’re coming back when we are in NY again.

FIVESTARS well deserved. I found this amazing sushi spot because I happened to be walking through the neighborhood. I’m a big sushi eater(at least once per week) We sat down at the bar and ordered a few rolls. I can definitely say that I am beyond impressed. The place is very nice and clean inside and the food is absolutely delicious. The sushi chef and the other restaurant employees were very friendly and made me feel right at home. Try this place if you want great food, great service, and a great experience.
