so. just off a three day bender of percoset, anesthesia and little-to-no-food whatsoever, i am able to say with great confidence that the nyu langone center is theee place to go for surgery not only in the 5 boroughs but the tri-state area as well. i had great trepidation about having my anterior cruciate ligament(aka a thingamabobby somewhere in the vicinity of the knee) replaced. i’d injured it initially in 2004, had minor orthroscopic surgery in 2005 that didn’t really do much other than make it more livable but age and arthritis pushed me to pursue this completely debilitating surgery that, if physical therapy goes well and my outlook remains positive, will probably be one of the soundest decisions i’ve ever made. enough about my knee… the nyu langone center for outpatient surgery is a top notch, state of the art medical facility with a crackerjack staff that saw to my every medical need and then some. very clean. very hospitable. very comfortable. i mean, there really isn’t much more to say about a hospital or that you even really want to hear other than statements that quell one’s basic fears about surgery. will i mind the experience? no. you’ll love the experience. in fact, i may just run out right now, throw myself in front of oncoming traffic just then request the ambulance rush me to where? the nyu langone medical center. will i feel as bad as i look? no. you will feel utterly fantastic. from reception to the surgeon, the entire staff made me feel like a million bucks even in a hospital dressing gown. will i leave in a worse state than i was when i checked in? no. like i said. it’s as immaculate as a hospital should be. you aren’t leaving with anything you didn’t come in with except maybe a smile. and i went a million addresses in the whole surgery process, which means, they must run the gamut in medical coverage. before you check in anywhere, you owe it to yourself to check out nyu langone.
