We ordered a caesar salad, Sunday Pasta with Meatballs and Sausage, and a Chicken Milanese via Grub Hub. Cost $ 61(and that was with free delivery!)!! The food arrived an hour later and was cold. Bleh! The quality was diner food at best. Very little flavor, the spagetti was bloated and tasteless, with barely any sauce at all, the meatballs were soft and mushy with weird little raisins in them. I don’t know about the sausage as I didn’t eat it. The Caesar was served not even cut up but just stalky ends of the lettuce lined up in a tray with some topping. I felt like I was eating the leftovers they throw away. Can’t believe they charge so much for this kind of food. :(

I was literally kicked out of this restaurant one night while eating here with friends bc our table had to be given to someone who had a reservation.(?) We were told BYTHEMANAGER we had«overstayed our welcome.» Who says that to customers that just paid and tipped well and are enjoying their final sips of wine and dessert? The food was mediocre, the service was so-so, but neither compelled me to write this review — no, the behavior of the manager really topped it off. I am beyond disgusted. My hope for everyone is to never give this establishment business. There are so many other options is Hells Kitchen!

Blech. My boyfriend and I stopped here late one night after seeing a show at the Broadway Theater. It was 11 pm, and knowing everywhere would soon be closed, we let a super quick Unilocal search for gluten free lead us here. The gluten free focaccia bread was by far the highlight of the meal(and the only reason we didn’t leave feeling completely ripped off and led astray). I wouldn’t come here again just to have it, but if I could buy some of the focaccia to take home, I definitely would. However, the oil & cheese dip it was served with was just weird. The main food was just awful — borderline inedible. After reading such wonderful things about the soccas, I decided to be adventurous and try it. I like chick peas and I like most gluten free food attempts. This, however, was a sad, soggy pile of wanna-be dough. The massive pile of arugula on top(why???) couldn’t even mask the gross taste. It set me back on being adventurous with food at least a few months. Seriously, I felt nauseous afterwards! If you’re looking for some gluten free food post-theater, keep on walking. Even for the regular food, I have my doubts with this place’s high-end pricing. And if you absolutely MUST come here, please oh please don’t order a socca.

A Near Disaster After having booked on Open Table and then followed up will a call to the restaurant to advise that we would be 5 rather than 4 people, which was confirmed by the helpful manager I spoke with, we were then faced with the rather unhelpful hostess upon arrival that couldn’t find the booking for 5. After first trying to give us a table that would barely fit 4, then offering a table that would fit my group only to have to depart in about 45 minutes, and after more discussions, we were finally given a table that we could sit comfortably in. If not for the fact that my young daughters were hungry I would have walked out. On the plus side the service was excellent and the food was good stuff, even a gluten freeselection for those who wish it.

Good stuff! Very touristy but good for those with Celiacs or just some prick off the street who wants a «gluten-free» diet by choice… maybe they should eat make-up instead, beauty comes from within. I like it here in the off time that it isn’t hustling too much, the sidewalk is a nice touch in the appropriate months and the food menu is great! The Polpette have black-currants in them — fantastic touch!

Nizza before a show is great, but also as a causal dinner. My father and I love this place, and last night the food was even better. The duck lasagna was delicious, as was the La Mia pizza. The perfect blend of pancetta, cheese, caramelized onions, and crushed red pepper flakes. Yum!

We came in at 11pm, were seated right away. I enjoyed the food here, had tuna and Caesar salads for starters and margarita pizza and salmon for entrees. The food was very good, done to perfection. Server was nice and attentive. Our dessert was cheesecake and it was delicious. The cocktails were good as well. I had peach Bellini Martini and kamikaze, bartender definitely knows his stuff. Overall great experience with a loved one.

Their gnocchi was buttery and creamy. Totally an excellent place for lunch and dinner. The host/manager was a bit rude however, and he was really strict with seating. Else wise all was good.

I wanted to head South on 9th Avenue, from 51st St, and eat someplace new. My Girlfriends Feet started to hurt so we stopped in at Nizza for a Fast Glass of Wine and to discuss where to Eat,(I wanted some sort of Asian Food). We had never been to Nizza, just stumbled upon it during the walk. Tom our Bartender was a Real Treat and his recommendations were Dead ON!!! We wound up eating there and truly enjoyed it. It’s a beautiful restaurant, in its own way, romantically lit in a charming setting. Bathroom is on the Main Floor, Big Plus in NYC!!! Worth going there just for the Meatballs!!! Wine, Food, Service and Setting were excellent. Enjoy, we will be back for Sure.

Fantastic! The pizza is superb. The Caesar salad comes with a vinaigrette that is the best I’ve ever tasted, nice and tangy and not too much oil. Service is wonderful!

Away from Times Square, Nizza surprised me with good bread, appetizer and atmosphere. Lost 1 star on the gnocchi that lacked taste and texture. Service and cappuccino were great. Melissa was awesome and the outside seating is a plus. I recommend.

Nice Italian restaurant with a famous socca dish, specialty of Nice, France made from cheek pea flour. We went with my friends after a brunch that mostly consisted in drinking and not eating. The food was acceptable. I got a cheese pizza which was rather small and did not taste any special. My wife got a salad that was ok. Also, we tried a plate of socca and it was not nearly as good as the original but it gives a good idea of what you would deal with in the south of France. I would give a 4 star but the waiter left a nice oil stain on my short when he cleaned up the table and barely said sorry, so it’s one star less for that.

Um, yes. This place is amazing and yes, you have to try everything on the menu. I’ve had delivery from here twice and if their delivery is this good, I can’t imagine how great it is in store. I’ve had the meatballs, lamb sausage pizza and the quattro formaggio and everything was as amazing as it sounds. They have a delicious crust that you can taste and see, that it’s made with love. They clearly use quality toppings and really put the time into making each pizza perfect. The meatballs were great, only with there was more than TWO in the order. Food came quick and was still hot and delicious. You haven’t had pizza until you’ve been to Nizza. Definitely give it a shot, I’ll for sure be back for more.

Yep, I’m a fan. I went to an off off broadway play(yes, that is a thing) and grabbed post theater dinner at Nizza. It is tucked away on 9th, so that may explain why it has escaped the black hole of bad food that is the theater district. Nice, elegant dining area. Appropriate spacing between tables, thank you Nizza!(Imagine such a thing. Not having to do that awkward squeeze out of the impossibly tight space between tables — ‘oh sorry sir that I just knocked your drink over with my rear end, while trying to get out’. You all know what that awkwardness is about) The menu is really interesting. Not your average, run of the mill, uninspired theater district italian food. I had the baked gnocchi, with plenty of cheese, again thank you Nizza. I have no idea how I would live if I was lactose intolerant. The bread and olive oil dip was delish. Cocktails! Yum! All told, the meal was worth the two hours I had to run the next day to work the meal off. Oh yes, and our service was attentive.

Stumbled across this Italian restaurant in the middle of our walk through Hell’s Kitchen. It appears that Hell’s Kitchen is notorious for all different types of restaurants and genres of food and based off the overall average of stars in this area(4 – 5) I figured we couldn’t go wrong! It looked like a cool elitist place from across the street so we peeped at the menu and decided to give it a try. The hostess was nice and told us reservations were not necessary and that a table would be opening within 5 – 10 min. We sat ourselves at the bar for a quick drink, the bartender remained smile less while he asked what we wanted. I chose the Rosa Della Casa and instead of nodding or saying ‘No problem’ he said ‘So the house wine?’, I don’t know why but it skeeved me that he had to point out that it was the house, like it wasn’t expensive enough? Anyways, got our wine, the hostess came and told us our table was ready and the bartender took forever and a day to close out our tab, I’m sure he had much cooler people to serve then us. We were seated at a nice, candle lit, two top table with my seat facing towards the outside. Our waitress came over and greeted us with ‘Is tap water OK to start?’ lol, again, can’t you just say ‘Would you like some water?’, icksnay the tap part. Their were several meat entrees, pastas, antipasti, etc to choose from, our waitress recommended a few options, one of them being lasagna which we got and I was really craving Gnocchi, so when I saw it on the menu it was a definite for me to order. Herb focaccia bread with olive oil and ricotta were brought prior to our entrees(we had to ask for this) and although it was good, it wasn’t even warm when we got it. The lasagna and Gnocchi were out relatively quick. Unfortunately the lasagna was a total miss and my friend mentioned it tasted no better then stouffers. It would have been better with a dash of pepper and fresh parmigiano, had it been offered(we saw other tables being offered fresh crushed red pepper and cheese). The Gnocchi was much better then the lasagna but it’s only savior was the melted cheese on top. The Gnocchi and tomato cream itself was almost as bland as the bartender. All around I think this place has/or had potential but the staff has got to cheer up and the chef needs to utilize his spices.

Seamless Review: It baffles me when Unilocalers expect meals delivered on Seamless to taste exactly as they do in the restaurant, which is just not fair to the restaurant. That being said, my colleague and I ordered socca and pizza specifically because they are simple items that ought to fare pretty well under delivery conditions, and I want to be clear that the reason for this review is not due to our ignorance, it is due to poorly executed, overpriced food. Both dishes were under-seasoned and put together carelessly. The ingredients were not distributed evenly on the cavolfiore socca or the salsiccia y rapini pizza at all. For example, the sausage on my colleague’s pizza only covered about half of the pie, and the cauliflower on my socca was clumped together as if stranded on an island. Basically, both looked(and tasted) like jumbled messes. While the delivery process may have contributed to that, it was obvious that it had, pre-delivery, been made with haste and without consideration. From a flavor standpoint, I had to add hot red pepper flakes from the pantry to make it interesting. My colleague echoed my complaint that the food was bland. The accompanying focaccia was also bland and dry, though it was complimentary. And, with each item costing $ 14.75, I felt they were stingy with the ingredients(particularly on my socca). I can get a premium Italian deli sandwich from a nearby place like Sergimmo’s Salumeria with a hefty portion of prosciutto and other quality meats and still fall below $ 14.75. The order came quickly, was delivered hot, and did use quality ingredients, but it was unfortunately just bad. There are a number of places in midtown that are more successful in making healthy food /food suitable for dietary restrictions taste good at acceptable prices and with proper seasoning, but from my experience Nizza is not one of them, despite the impressively long list of gluten-free options.

I’m going full five stars here, people. Overall, I rank this as one of the most pleasant dining experiences I’ve ever had. Location is right in the theatre district, with easy access from several parts of the city. Service from Taxim was top notch. He was just the right amount of attentive, and even though I know the waiting list was 2 hours out, we were never rushed and even had to leave in a hurry to catch out show. We tried the house red, house white, Limoncello sangria and Earl Grey hot toddy. All were terrific. My house red was exceptionally mellow and drinkable, very well oxidized and consistent between the two glasses. For starters, the table bread is a flatbread, almost a foccacia, served with fresh ricotta and olive oil. VERY fresh olive oil, and very good. Maybe a touch of salt or red pepper might have kicked it up a notch. We also tried the calamari, which was VERY fresh and tender as well. The marinara is on the spicy side but flavourful and not overpowering. Entrees were the only place it got a little dicey. We had the linguine with clams, the gnocchi, the veal, and the salmon. We all had critiques of each others’ dishes, but we all liked our own, so I suppose it’s fine. The veal was the most contended over, with an EXTREMELY thin piece of veal wrapped around way too much spinach and a normal amount of cheese. The ratios in that dish were just… off. For dessert we had molten chocolate cake with hazelnut gelato, and the other espresso dessert they offered. Both were excellent. Prices were extremely reasonable and comparable to Boston.
