Ok, so I was pretty devastated(maybe I’m being a little melodramatic here) when I walked by and discovered they’re closed. I went back around the corner to Museum of Sex because I know they’re affiliated somehow, and the response I got is that they’re remodeling and will reopen in Spring. Crossing my fingers now for this to be true!

First off, come here with the cupsapp! My almost $ 5 drink ended up being a little more than a dollar :) I got the highly recommended Bees Knees, which was delicious. The infused lavender was very obvious, and the giant cup was satisfying. The latte art made it all the more pleasant. I loved the ambience of the café. It was like a book store, with bookshelves separating the tables and allowing for some privacy. It was spacious and not crowded at all. I’ll definitely be back again to try another drink.

I came here for food since I was hungry after visiting the empire state building so early in the morning. This place is in walking distance from the empire state building. The barista was nice and new my boyfriend and I would be sharing food so he split it on two plates. ^_^ My boyfriend ordered a coffee from here too that he said was good, but I don’t drink coffee so you would just have to take his word for it. There’s a lot of outlets and sitting area for those who plan to be here for awhile.

Kind of hesitant to write a review about Nice and Sweet Café, as I don’t want other people to catch on to it’s awesomeness. But I should give credit to where credit is due. The café is part of the CUPS app, and I really didn’t have much expectations for the place as I stumbled into the café to grab my Sunday afternoon cup of cold brew. The moment you step in, WOW. Where am I? The café is really spacious, which is a rarity in New York, and its interiors is really pretty and interesting. There’s the main coffee area, and the back space with lots of sofas, chairs, and places where you can just hang out or chill and read a book. Coffee was really good too. 5 stars!

I really wanted to try their bombon latte but since they didn’t have all the ingredients ready, I got the cold brew instead… it was pretty good. The barista was friendly as well which is always a good thing :) Not always easy that early in the morning!

Passed twice by this place thinking it was a different one because the Big Letters to look for outside are not Nice and Sweet Café, but actually PLAY. It is located adjacent to the Museum of Sex. Its a café, lounge, Bar. The back was decorated with books right before the Bar area. It is suffering from quite the identity crisis! I wanted to stay there after buying a Rose petal tea, but could not. It was too noisy and according to the cashier it was about to get busy. The Tea was SO good! Recommend the Tea, me Heart it!

I ordered the ice bombon latte and it was really good. It was just like caramel latte. The sweetness is at its perfect level — not overpowering the coffee itself. They do have sugar syrup for you to add additional sweetness if it’s not enough though. Price wise is typical like starbucks pricing. One thing I really liked about this place was the environment. The couches was super comfty and relaxing. It’s a great place to have chats with friends or to just sit and relax.

Rarely is there a Coffee that I go out of my way to get. I found one such coffee here and it’s the bees knees. Literally that’s its name, «bees knees». It’s not everyones«cup of tea» so to speak if you place value on the aroma of lavender above its taste. And yes, the regular coffee is a worthy brew. Bitey at first sip but mellow upon savouring. So close to 5th Avenue yet a haven from the outside world. I am only here 5 days and I’ll make the most of it whilst I’m here. The museum of sex is adjacent(apparently). Maybe next time. A library here provides the ‘sauce’ to accompany its neighbour’s menu. What is lacking in the polish of the service and premises is more than compensated for by having good beans. A 5-Star in the making?

Loooooove this place! Super cozy spot in the sex museum. Library bar with cocktails and adorable coffee shop with plenty of wall outlets, free wifi and comfy couches. Really enjoyed working from here.

What a Cool Space to have a cup of coffee! Was planning to check out the Museum of Sex(this place is connected) and decided to have a coffee first. First, I had the Bees Knees & an almond croissant. Both were Excellent!(Husband really enjoyed his coffee, too.) Second, lots of interesting private areas to drink your coffee. Husband found this intimate couch to sit back and chit chat(there were book shelves on either side of us). Plus, there were so many things to look at. For example, across from where we were sitting were these 4 little screens embedded into a brick wall and at times they looked like bricks, but they were little video screens and the images would change. Finally, friendly service. Awesome. Final note: Door says«Play» vs. «Nice & Sweet Café.»

I loved this coffee shop! The staff was great and friendly! I tried their Bombon Latte. They did a design on the foam which I absolutely loved. Great place

OK, the environment is SUPER cool. In between late night lounge and home library. Huge space and personal area. I did not like the lavender latte(bee’s knees) and I could not finish it. :( Not finishing my coffee is huge star knock offs! Personal preference though, that lavender milk was just… weird. They brought me my latte, the baristas are nice. Does the museum of sex exit here? So many people randomly strolling from upstairs via side staircase. Couple outlets around. Bit dim lighting.

Ordered my drink to stay, sat down, seven minutes later I looked up because the two baristas were joking with each other and not working and I still hadn’t gotten my drink. They asked if I needed anything, I said«is my drink on the counter or something?» They said«bees knees?»(So they remembered my order…) and only then did one of them begin making it. I was one of two people in the café so I really don’t know how they overlooked it… I had left a $ 1 tip when I paid too :/ Good drink though.

A great place tucked next to the Museum of Sex(didn’t even realize) that has such a chill atmosphere. The baristas are really friendly and accommodating. Hands down one of the best coffee places in the city, IMHO. I get the Bees Knees(coffee drink) each time I visit. I should ask what’s in it but if I were to guess, there’s a tinge of cinnamon, honey and some other awesome stuff. Yum!

Love the coffee, love their always superb coffee drinks, and love this space. Play is high on my list of favorite coffee places. And I can’t forget to mention that Kyle & Bryce are officially my favorite coffee dudes in NYC! They’re both stars in my book. I do miss the coffee happy hour quite a lot, but they’re still my favorite coffee in the neighborhood. If you have the time, it’s a great place to chill and grab a sandwich or croissant with your Joe. Wish I could do that more often, but I generally get my coffee on the go.

Let’s PLAY which item on the menu is available. All cold drinks are in the fridge, not on the board. NO Café Bombon either as caramel syrup was being a diva and a no show. Bee’s Knees is unique. Unfortunately, I don’t like lavender. I suffered, sipped… and moving on. First sighting of Voss Water in the NYC area. Whoa!

Such an awesome spot! Definitely the coolest coffee shop I’ve ever been to! The set up is really interesting. You walk into what looks like a mini coffee shop, you go through these see-through doors and see bookshelves & couches & little tables, and if you go further, you hit their bar area with booths! My friend and I stayed in the mid-section surrounded by bookshelves and comfy seating. We both got the green tea with rose petals — delicious! I tried their scone which was a bit dry but had nice, light flavors. They also had croissants. We were there around 6pm on a Saturday and their pastry selection was light(and half off) so maybe get there earlier for more options? Customer service was nice and helpful. Definitely looking forward to going back!

Get their drip brewed coffee. It’ll perk you up, and it’s smoooooth. Free refills if you’re having it there. Bonus points for being affordable — won’t break the bank, and they take plastic if you’re short on cash. Best staff ever, too. Thankfully, their coffees do not have dirty names.
