I’m really glad there is a surf shop in New York City and even more glad that there is one so close to my home but it isn’t much of a store. Decent for surf clothing and seem to have an okay selection of skate boarding equipment — I can’t speak about snowboarding or skiing gear– those aren’t sports I’m familiar with. They have next to no surfboards but I get that– shipping and Manhattan rent preclude that being a good business for anyone really– it’s not like the east river is ever breaking(By all means prove me wrong — I’d give anything a try once). Avoid at all costs surfboard repair here — the work is okay but they have no sense of deadlines, «the repair guy» is never someone you speak with who apparently leaves town for weeks at a time, better going towards your local break and leaving it with a shop there. Staff(at least the kids behind the counter) are somewhat knowledgeable about the gear but not good with repairs and they seem rather… forgetful and hungry? Is that enough of a hint? Great for wax, a wetsuit, a rashie, some skate gear but I would avoid them at least for bigger surfing purchases and repairs.

Great local shop. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I just started skating and got all the gear I needed there. They really helped me get what I needed as a beginner. During the winter they team up with another shop in Brooklyn and run several bus trips a week to upstate NY and Vermont during the winter. The price and convenience can’t be beat.

Part poser part pure-blood this shop has been an upper east side staple for a very long time! I have known many of its managers over the years and most can through down with the best of us! They are a skate and snow shop mainly with some surfing gear to boot!
