I have been here a few times. The first couple of times were decent. No frills mani/pedi for $ 50 not including tax/tip. Okay, that’s fine. But today was a different story. I understand it’s a Friday, in the summer, at a prime time hour, but when does that mean compromising sanitation? For her and everyone else’s health? This in no way speaks for all the employees here, just the one I had today in specific. She had what looked like an infected gash on her right index finger. I didn’t notice this at first when she was doing the pedi. She used a glove, great! But when it was time for my mani, she forgot to put on the glove and I noticed it. I asked her to please put a glove on. She used the SAME glove that was now inside out. Which made me wonder how many times she’s used that glove. I got sick to my stomach & continued the mani when I probably should’ve stopped, paid, & left. What makes matters worse(besides the fact that I stayed & continued the mani) and why I’m writing this review is when she removed the glove again, I kindly asked her if she could please put a bandaid on. She got very annoyed with me, telling me that she didn’t have any & they were all the way at the front. OHMYGOD! THEFRONTOFTHESALON?! You mean, inconveniencing yourself and walking 62 steps to the front to get a bandaid?! Maybe I was asking for too much? Maybe it was the nurse in me that realized that having an open gash like that and not taking precautions to cover it is unsanitary for oneself, but also for others? Maybe I should’ve paid & left? Just be careful ladies. Inspect! Inspect! Inspect! Oh, and when you read another review that’s a day old from another Unilocal user that mentions the same thing & you decide to wing it, don’t.

$ 16 for regular manicure! You do not get new nail file unless you ask for it. The manicurists have dirty nails and cuts on their fingers and did not cover a large cut until I requested she put on a band-aid or glove. I am concerned I will now get a fungus. Good luck.

The pedicure with callus remover was great. And, for $ 59, I expected it to be great. It included a foot massage, which was terrific. BUT, THEMANICURE… Total FAIL!!! Not only was it VERY, VERY fast, there was no hand or arm massage at all, and each of my fingers has been shredding away from the nail bed with dozens of hangnails for a week so far, since the manicure. After our very fast mani/pedis, my husband and I added tip to our credit card and the woman came back and asked for MORE tip money. It’s such a shame. The salon is beautiful, the pedicure was expensive, but great. But I would never get a manicure there again. Maybe, just a pedicure. In the end, two mani/pedis and tip were $ 200 and just seemed like a rip-off.

Around 10:00 on a Saturday morning, I was trying to navigate myself unsuccessfully to another nail salon and came upon this one before reaching my destination. Very glad I went in. The salon was super clean and they took me right away as a walk-in. I got a shellac manicure done by Lori who was polite and professional. My nails have never been filed/buffed the way she did them and I was quite impressed. It was pricy($ 50-which included removal of my old shellac polish) but comparable to New York prices. Would definitely recommend and happy I went!

The worst manicure I’ve had in my life. Couldn’t wait for my nails to dry so I could write this review. Worst attention, the girl that did my nails: Park, she was so bad. Barely filed my nails, messy and bad attitude. Never talked to me and she did a terrible job. And then when I wanted to pay, it was actually more expensive than what they said when I came in AND tip was mandatory includes(over 20%) for again. THEWORSTMANICURE I’VEHADINMYLIFE. Please do yourself a favor and don’t get a manicure here.

DONOTGOHERE If I could leave zero stars I would. I walked in and immediately received attitude for being exactly 1 minute late to my appointment. I wanted to get a regular manicure but was told that to get my gel manicure off it would be an extra $ 5 because of all the extra labor. Wow didn’t realize putting cotton balls on my fingers was SO labor intensive. Meanwhile, the woman at the front desk said to me «if you have enough money to pay for the manicure, you have enough for the extra fee to take off the polish» EXCUSEYOU! That was completely inappropriate and I immediately left. As I walked out, the massage man smiled and waved. I wish I had gotten her name but beware that this place is for for overpriced manicures and RUDE staff.

Lazy attitude, neglect, bad work. Don’t think you’ll relax there: they spend their time talking in Korean together, you almost wonder if they’re not talking about you. The quicker they’re done with you, the better. Nails not cut even. Pedicure is bad, they go over the dead skin in 5 seconds. Seriously, don’t go there.

By far the worst nail experience I have ever had. I went to get a silk wrap and they had 2 technician do my nails. I guess because it takes too long and they are trying to speed up the process. Young was on my right hand and Nina was on my left hand. After my nails were wrapped they were completely night and day. My left hand was somewhat decent but my right hand was down right awful. My nails were shorter and my nails were filed slanted. Wth! Who files nails like the freaking leaning tower of Pisa. Now my nails on my right hand hurts like hell. I swear to God if anything happens to my finger nails they will pay. I should have listen to the reviews. It’s not too late for you, save yourself and DONOTGOHERE.

I had the best spa massage EVER. If you need a well deserved massage, please make an appointment to see Sarah. She is great. When I walked in, I was greeted with open arms. I will return.

First off, I came in with a 2.5 week old gel manicure to get a new gel mani and it was $ 49! Maybe it’s the area, but that seems so pricy to me! If I read the menu correctly, it was $ 19 just to remove the gel polish which took no more time or challenge than usual(aka 5 minutes while I picked out my color and a little tin foil). To make matters worse, she tried to paint the edges and it left a funky texture at the tip of two nails, which I may ask them to fix this week. Pros: great CDN color options, nice atmosphere, fast.

This was right around the corner from the hotel I was staying at for the work week and I was in need of manicure so I decided to check it out because it seemed like it was reasonably priced. I was pleasantly surprised about the color options, cleanliness and speed. I wasn’t look for a relaxing wind down so it was nice to get in and out in about 45 min. Definitely a place that gets the job done and my manicure is only just chipping(4 days is good for me, usually it only lasts 2).

Cleanliness is my number 1 concern at nail salons and New York Nails and Spa was meticulous and neat. My nail technician was friendly and helped me pick out a pedicure service. I had both a pedicure and manicure and was very pleased. The technician was thorough yet worked quickly. The end result was perfectly applied polish. I am very pleased and will return to New York Nails and Spa.

So I went there for a manicure as it was close to the hotel. The salon is very nice — they have many colors to choose from. Daisy my tech was nice and pleasant. She worked quick yet correct. The manicure took 30min and 15 min drying. I will not give 5 stars as I have the feeling that the color will come off quickly … They use the same polish as base and top coat– I know that does exist however I think they are not as good as the specialized ones … Also she applied the top layer not thoroughly… I have the feeling color will come off quickly … Therefore only 4 stars!

I am so pleased with this nail salon! Cindy did my gel nails, and she did a fabulous job. She was quick and friendly, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Was a tiny bit pricey but that’s to be expected.

I feel like a fool for working in the same block as this gem for almost a decade, but trying a bunch of other places. I could’ve been getting awesome manis all this time! The only negative I found is that it’s too quite in the nail section. There is some sort of music FAINTLY playing, from somewhere. But, with their name and the awesome décor, I found myself really wanting some relaxing spa music, reminiscent of cruise ship spa days. Other than that, loved that they had my reservation in place, I was immediately sat, my tech(Judy) was nice, appropriately quiet/concentrated(while open to connection when I spoke to her), and very skilled. I was in and out within 20⁄25 minutes, and had one of the best buffs I’ve ever received, and an awesomely sound mani(much better than some techs at other places who have taken 45 – 60 minutes, and didn’t come close to Judy’s product). I found my new spot, and recommend trying them out! Everyone in both the nail and spa sections came out smiling and seemed to be pleased.

Twice visited and the manicure does not last longer than two days before chipping. Feel rushed and brushed aside on the two occasions!!! Lady at reception is quite pleasant but older back folks don’t get the special treatment as the young girls coming in and out. The back room smells sour not fresh as the garden it looks to be too. If you are colder I don’t recommend this place.

Excellent service and FAST! I went here today for a pedicure and polish change on my acrylics. I went right before the lunch rush and they took me right away. The atmosphere is very spa-like and relaxing. Everything seems very clean. There are SO many colors to pick from too. Vicky did my pedicure and Amy did my manicure. Both women were very nice, professional, and did a wonderful job! This place seems great to come to if you’re looking to indulge and pamper yourself or if you just need a quick mani/pedi.

Okay and pricy! Well… it is Midtown. They get the job done pretty quickly and no one is nipping your cuticles, thank god! Great place to take a few clients. Dont think I would come here on my own. They have pedicure chairs in the back but my pedicure only lasted a few days… Ugh. They dont have gel, only Shellac. Once I spotted Anna Chlumsky here! Grab some lunch next door when your done.

STAYAWAYFROMTHISSALON!!! Honestly, VICKY in particular ruined my experience here. She is a nail technician with a poor attitude and zero customer service. It was my first time here and from the appearance it seems like a nice salon. My cuticles are jagged and I can see the white base coat on my nail edges. A MESS! I got a basic mani/pedi and Vicky(the nail tech) was pissed I did not want to upgrade the pedicure to one that was literally DOUBLE the price of a regular pedicure($ 34 vs. $ 59). She blew her breath and even grunted! 2) My nail cuticles are still jagged and you can see the white base coat on the edges. 3) She wasn’t friendly overall until it came time to pay 4) I gave her 10% of the services as a tip because although she was terrible, I did not want to leave her nothing(what she deserved) and she actually counted the tip in front of me(rude), then laughed in my face and walked over to the other techs and started talking about me. Is she serious??? NEVERAGAIN!
