Here is the note I left for Robyn Selman, the alleged director of NYIP: Robyn, I was the recent winner of the Popular Photography/NYIP photo contest and my winning photo is featured as a NYIP full-page ad in the December issue of PP on page 53. Although I am extremely excited to be published in such a prestigious magazine and be used as an ad by a school that has been around for a very long time, here is why the experience is rather discouraging. NYIP has not so much as even taken a moment to write me a brief congratulatory note or email in regards to my win. I have never been in a photo contest where there was not a prize for winning, and I certainly have received nothing. I would think that NYIP, especially considering that my work is being used in a commercial venture, would have at least acknowledged my win to me personally and perhaps furnished me with at least a 2-bit blue ribbon or some trinket indicative of said win. Sandy Scott I have left her messages on her facebook page, left a message on their website and left a voice mail message on her business telephone. She, as the director, apparently couldn’t care less and I am sure that her attitude is reflected in everything else this alleged school does. Find another place to learn photography.

Spent $ 1000 on this course and received outdated materials and videos made in the ‘70s. The information is great, but the medium was poor. I submitted course one photos for evaluation and was happy with the response, but was discouraged by how old everything was, it seriously needed a makeover. So I was very excited to read in Popular Photography magazine that the courses have now all been updated and are available online! I sent an email asking for a log-in for the online classes, but was told that I would have to pay another $ 1000 to access that material! When I signed up, one of the selling points was that would be a student for 3 years, and I confirmed that I am still well within that timeframe, so I really can’t understand why I can’t continue what I have paid for, online.
