It’s a decent place to people watch as it hangs over 42nd Street in front of Grand Central Terminal. I find that it is a better winter spot as there are so many other places with rooftop decks in the summer

Dirty dishes, oblivious, distracted wait staff. $ 6 ice tea and no offer for a refill. Could hear kitchen staff cursing in the background. Terrible. Complete rip off and the employees don’t care. More of a dive restaurant in terms of service and cleanliness, which doesn’t align well with the very nice Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Always a good time when dining here. The manager Javier has a good team around him who always make sure the guests/patrons are taken care of. For last night, Conrad was our server and Jorge was right there with him. Both very attentive and always made sure we had water in front of us. Jorge remembered us from another visit and even surprised us with a dessert. Very kind of him! The food was also good. Fortunately we got there at a good time and did not have to wait for a table but we have waited in the past. In case you have to wait, they have a small waiting area right in front of the restaurant. This trip I had the oven baked rigatoni which came of nice & hot. I also had the roasted tomato soup. My only recommendation for the soup would be to use a smaller bowl size and provide a little less soup and look into providing maybe 2 or 3 more strips of the grilled cheese croutons. Yes this is an app portion but you want the guest to feel like they are receiving an app. Not a complaint just more of feedback. Overall, a good experience. I will come back back.

Pricey, but understandably, it’s a hotel restaurant in a prime location. We came here as a rest stop because it was interesting how the bar area protrudes out of the building, so we went to chick it out. We had the coffee, which was a bit overpriced, and an octopus appetizer which was super delicious, I would totally come back for it!

Let me start off by saying this is a cute place to eat in the Hyatt hotel. If you want to do a quick lunch with friends or grab a quick drink in midtown Manhattan. However, I would not suggest this place as a place to go to if you want to do a classy dinner. Although it’s a nice looking place, the food took very long to come out and tasted bland to me. I didn’t get the waiters name but he was very polite. Also, the host Bill was incredible. I told him it was my dates birthday and they brought out a small piece of cake with a candle and sang happy birthday. The hospitality and ambiance were 5 stars but the fact that the food wasn’t tasty and took so long to come out is the reason I gave this place 3 out of 5 stars.

Its been far too long since I’ve been here. And oh my gosh, what I’ve been missing! From presentation to execution this is easily one of the most delicious and refined spaces to eat in midtown. We all know the views of the floor to ceiling windows are unparalleled, and the freshness of the menu leaves you completely satisfied. Highly recommend the burrata and octopus dishes, and if there’s room for more– have the scallops! Mmm!

Okay first let me say that the service was great. I’d give that four stars alone if I could. However the food was just okay… for the prices they charge okay is not acceptable. I had the curried lentil and goat cheese skillet And a few drinks but walked out feeling like I didn’t get my money’s worth. Wouldn’t return.

The cocktail servers in the lounge, or at least the one gentleman that is waiting on us, terrible snotty attitude… very rude!

Ate the prix fix Christmas dinner menu here. The ambiance was nice and service was very attentive. The lounge was nice too as a note, and could be a cool spot for drinks and catching a game in a classier environment. Food was good, not fantastic. I had the turkey meal(which was exactly what I wanted to eat on Christmas) and it was satisfying. All the sides that came with the meal were good too. First course I had sautéed shrimp which I also thought was good. My husband had the sea bass and said it was bland. Overall, most things were good, just not super memorable.

Great location & people watching at the seats by the far wall overlooking the sidewalk. Drinks are pricey $ 15 on average. Wait staff was a bit slow the couple times I’ve been here. I probably wouldn’t come often if I didn’t stay at the Hyatt.

Nice little restaurant in the Grand Hyatt on 42nd Street. Had the three course theater dinner… our party had roasted tomato and country chicken soup… salmon, grilled pork chop, and chicken — all were very nice. Meal also came with a glass of wine. Scotch on the rocks wasn’t very generous, but at least they got the Johnny Walker Black right. Waitstaff were very attentive all during the meal… never had to ask for something but they didn’t show up with it before we could. Three star solid meal… Jorge was a five star server. Great location in Midtown.

Terrible place for breakfast — ridiculously overpriced with average/poor food and surly waitstaff. The only positive is the location, being close to GCS(the maître d was pleasant as well). The prices are comical for everything on the menu — but I guess business focused hotels feel they can charge whatever their fancy. But $ 19 for a bagel and some fruit? and how can you screw up oatmeal? probably the worst oatmeal have had in years with ~8 blueberries. suggest Pershing Square over this place

The food is a bit pricey, but the waitstaff definitely know how to treat you like royalty. They all sat us down where we chose to sit, and even let us stash our massive luggage in a reserved corner so we had room to enjoy our meal. If you’re looking for good quality food, you want«The Benedicts». The coffee was $ 6.00, but this was a rare blend and it was delicious. The waiter realized he accidentally charged us for an extra item and immediately corrected it for us. I recommend this place whether you are just arriving to the Grand Hyatt, or you are on your way out and looking for good food and service.

I’ve come here for breakfast several times and have found the food and service to be consistently good. And the location can’t be beat – it’s in the Grand Hyatt in Grand Central Terminal. It’s very expensive, however, so be prepared to pay over $ 20 per person for a very basic breakfast. If you’re looking for lower cost options, be sure to check out the Comfort Diner or Pershing Square(noisy, but across the street from GCT): .

I went here for dinner because I was staying at the hotel and the cab lines were horrendous. Nice place… although it did seem like a smaller version of the meat market down the rod… al single guys. I had to deflect a few offers as I was waiting for my order, but the bartender saved me letting me me over and continuing to talk with me. The food was so so, but I paid for the convenience of this place. Its great! I got the salmon and found it a little over done but tasty. The have a nice wine list too…

If you’re in midtown and you need a convenient place to meet, this hotel bar is in the Grand Hyatt just over Grand Central Terminal. It’s nothing special and it’s expensive. The prices: $ 6 for a soda, $ 14 for a glass of merlot, $ 18 for the glass of malbec, $ 18 for a tuna tartare appetizer and $ 14 for a hummus platter. Would I go again? Not if I can help it!

We just ate breakfast at New York Central at the Grand Hyatt. The food and service were excellent. We had the Corned Beef Hash with eggs, the Belgian waffle and the Buttermilk pancakes, all meals were delicious and very quickly devoured! Lovely location with views over E42nd street.

Admittedly, short of going to Grand Central when I need to, I avoid Midtown like The Plague. Busy. Crowded. Tourists. Overpriced. I’d rather eat my own foot.(Perhaps I could pick a better analogy, but hey. I like it.) However, when meeting with two members of my college’s alumni department who were in Manhattan for a conference, I was thinking of where to meet for coffee and tea near the trains. Ummmmm… one of the dozen Starbucks around G.C.S. Perhaps the Cosi on Lexington if I really wanted to switch things up?(Oh…dear lord… no…) Luckily, they came across New York Central while waiting for me in the lobby of the Hyatt, so up we went. It really is this pleasant oasis in the midst of the chaos. With bar foods, stiff drinks, coffees, teas, and desserts, this is a perfect spot to meet friends post-work. It also provides a nice spot for impromptu, casual business meetings over cappuccinos, tea, and zeppoles with creamy chocolate dipping sauce.(Mmmmm.) The glass façade overlooks the bustle of 42nd Street, and I was in a peaceful place with my tea and dessert, so close, yet so away from it all. Midtown, you provided me with a place I’d go back to on my own volition. BRAVA!

***3.5*** Walking into this hotel restaurant is like walking onto the set of an 80’s bond-villains lair — cold, fantastical, with large interpretive sculptures peppered throughout the cool color palette décor. I could almost picture Christopher Walken sitting at our large, round table ready to get a quorum on some mad plot. It was a work dinner outing and this place was my recommendation(after some research), so flutters of nervousness did occasionally run through me as we sat down at the table and began our dinner order. Well, dinner was a win across the board among my colleagues — they loved their lamb, their burgers, the grits they had on the side and all the appetizers that came before. As for myself, I thought the multicolored watermelon salad with mozzarella was perfectly refreshing and really tasty. My scallops… not so much. Unfortunately each time I bit into a scallop, my chew was accompanied by grit or sand, and level of salt in the dish really reinforced that scallops do in fact come from the sea. And… then there was the fact that the scallops were overcooked. I think May Day would retire this meal at Zorin’s insistence. The service was slowly attentive and our servers polite and unobtrusive. The wine list here is large and well-thought out(though the presentation via clipboard was a little strange) — definitely recommend a perusal. Will I come back here again? Not personally, but if there was a need for a group dinner for my coworkers, this place will do just fine.

For basically what amounts to a hotel bar, New York Central is a pretty damn cool place to sip away the afternoon. The bartenders and servers are attentive and are very engaging in conversation. They are eager to make suggestions and help you decide on which libation would suit your mood the best. And in the event you are craving a bite of something to eat, there is plenty of small bites including sandwiches, sushi(yuck) and some really yummy looking French fries. This bar is centrally located just above Grand Central. There are plenty of TV’s for those wanting to catch a glimpse of your team or you can stare out the window for some interesting people watching.
