I went here this week as I was concerned about some chest pains and high blood pressure. I have to say the reception staff were amazing and the wait time was barely five minutes even on a first visit.
I was taken into the testing area and given an EKG and Echo Sound and then was advised to get a stress test too. The staff in the testing area were once again amazing and I felt completely at ease.
So why not 5 stars? Well since I was paying cash and a consult was part of the deal I barely saw Dr Reisman both on testing day and the day I went to get my results. On day one he ticked a few boxes and asked a few basic questions and day two he didn’t really seem to listen to my concerns. Granted the tests were clear but my blood pressure remained an issue. I explained it was fine in testing as I had taken medication but in evenings it tends to go very high but he dismissed this. He also suggested I was out of shape… now I have been working out since I was 15 (I am 52) and was always a health food orientated individual. So I get that I don’t do cardio (and I will now) but if we were to go head to head in the gym… well…nuff said.
Oh and I made the mistake of saying I had chest surgery (transgender female to male) 15 months ago so he seemed keen to use that as a scapegoat for any pain when ever I brought that up.
I am just glad for his sake my friend did not come with me as she would not have held back the way I did!
So $ 700 later I guess my heart is working fine (even though I have unresolved chest pain and high BP) but I still feel short changed and under listened to and that I was spoken to a little condescendingly. Basically I paid for the use of the machines and less than 10 minutes of time talking to the doctor over two days.
All in all the realization is that medicine is all about business these days.
The four stars are for the fabulous staff and the ease of having all testing done under one roof!

I visited dr reisman at the ny cardiac diagnostic center recently and very pleased with my experience. He got me in the same day I called up and was able to run every necessary test immediately. He was very professional and a friendly guy. He was thorough and followed up on everything with me and took the time to explain the issues I was having with me. I highly recommend him.
