WALKAWAYNOW!!! This place overcharges and completely under delivers on EVERYTHING. The apartments are TINY — MOREIMPORTANTLY the windows are thin — and there has been construction inside the building and outside for TWOYEARS — and its not stopping anytime soon. You will hear every hammer, nail, jackhammer, ambulance, firetruck(from next door), etc — even on Saturdays. The apartment literally shakes — and we’re on the top floor. Seriously no one should have to pay more than $ 3000 for a loud, poorly constructed and poorly managed apartment — I’ve left several voice-mails over the past two years and have NEVER heard back from anyone at management. Bottom line, DONOTMOVEHERE.

Have lived at the New Gotham for 3 years and could not have asked for a better experience. My roommate and I decided it was time for a slightly larger space and really wanted to stay in the building. Jenny Wu, the building’s leasing agent helped make our transition as smooth as possible– she is great! The gym and lounge facilities are new and impeccable. Service repair requests are always handled in a timely fashion. Not planning on leaving anytime soon!

First off let me start with — there were BEDBUGS in multiple apartments on my floor. Second I am pretty upset at how management handled some issues, It took them 3 – 4 months to renew my lease, I had to keep hounding them for it. In the meantime I kept sending in rent checks which they never deposited, when they finally did they applied late fees to my account. Really? When I call leave voice mails and email about the issue I got ignored, I had to catch them actually answering the phone to get a reply. If your fine with that, the building is a good value.

I’m surprised there aren’t more apartment building ratings out there! Helps with choosing apartments eh? :) So I’ve been living here since July 2009 and have been trying to get my friend to move here as well. Although far from the subway(3 avenues away from the 123/NQR, 2 avenues from ACE), I think it was worth getting apartment here. Why? Studios are way cheaper than other areas especially with laundry, elevator, and doorman. It ranges from 1725+ vs. 2000 in financial district or other areas. The doormen are super nice and always greet me when I’m coming in or leaving. They keep the building nice and clean and they quickly respond to any maintenance requests that I have! The only thing that annoys me is that some floors have rugs and some do not. The ones that don’t have a some more noise since people like to drag their luggage or what not through the hallways. Also, if you live on the first floor, you sometimes hear the elevator ping. You get used to it but it was annoying at first. Would love to see more flowers along the trees as well!!! But anyways, good enough for me to decide to live here again.
