Very cheap mooncakes, none of which were very good. In their defense, I’m not a big fan of mooncakes though. The place had little seating, was dark, and not very clean(but it’s chinatown).

Best egg custard tart in the city I have had… by far. I am surprised this place has so little reviews, pork bun/custard bun are delicious here and the woman is quite nice in comparison to most other places around here. Very inexpensive. They also sell something that I have not found in other places near here, Black bean Porridge with Coconut which can be made cool or hot. This stuff is delicious and I have not found it since Bostom. Many people seem to try the food, which is basically, dim sum, outside.

Great cookies and sweet pastries. Not so much for anything savory. You can also get fresh fortune cookies here.

New Golden Fun Wong is one of a rare breed in Chinatown nowadays. While most tourists think Chinese bakeries are places like«Fay Da», Fun Wong holds the torch of being an old skool bakery. What qualifies as «old skool» you may ask? 1. Fairly dull color scheme with bright neon in the window? Check. 2. Only a few tables to sit? Check. 3. Tons of bright brushed silver and metal trim? None to be found. 4. A staff that speaks only moderate english? Check. 5. Trays of fresh baked goods waiting to be put into display cases? Check. These qualities were the things I grew up with in Chinese bakeries, and this is one of the few left that is family owned, not a chain and creates a wide variety of goods. Sure you have your standard issue roast pork buns and almond cookie crusted buns, but you also have melon cakes rolled in wax paper just like mom used to buy. You have brown sesame jelly cut into diamond shapes with sesame on top. Let’s not forget the cookies shaped like Buddha or Fish on red string or steamed cakes. During Mooncake season, they literally have racks of warm Mooncakes on trays ready to sell. This, my friends is how baked goods in Chinatown were meant to be. I’ve never bought anything here that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy, but my recent favorites are their red bean cakes(round, wrapped in wax paper) and nut cakes(more like soft cookies with nuts in the center). I could go on and on but just visit them, they’re fantastic!
