Do not bring your clothes here. They ruined my dress! All I wanted was my dress hemmed. First he cut it shorter than where I had him pin it. Not only that, the hem was not even straight. The back is a solid 2 inches shorter than the front. When I pointed this out the owner caught an attitude with me. Told me that I was a «trouble maker» and that«you people always try to start problems» after 35 minutes of arguing with this man he refuses to refund my money, pay for the dress and does not offer any solutions or suggest that he could fix it. A lady came in to drop her clothes off and defended me and told him the hem was ridiculously uneven. Now my cute maxi dress is cute above my ankles and I had to wear it because it’s my mother’s bridesmaid dress.

I’ve been a customer here for over a year, and lived in Harlem for 5 years. I usually only send simply sweaters to this location. Once, I sent a dress shirt here for dry-cleaning. Upon pick up, I noticed that the cuffs were lined and wrinkled. I brought it to the owner’s(the man who is always at the counter, who I assume is the owner) attention. He told me it was«hard» to make it perfect because they use a press-machine. I was stumped. He said if they were to do it again, the results would be similar. I was told to accept it as is. They obviously could not be bothered doing a proper job. Although I was furious, I was also in a rush, so I simply went home and fixed the cuff section with an iron, something that they were too lazy to do. From here on, I only sent them simple sweaters. Today, I sent them a pair of pants to be tailored — the hem needed to be re-sewn. I asked before, twice, if the work could be done similar to the other leg. He assured me the first time, that he has the same machine for it. When I asked him a second time to confirm this, his response was, «why are you asking me again when I answered you the first time?» I smiled, and thanked him. I inspected the hem upon pick up, and it did not look right. He brought out a tape measurer to assure me that it was indeed correct. The tape measurer did not lie, the measurements were not even. He then goes on to argue that it doesn’t matter what it looks like from that end, as long as the length of the overall leg is the same as the other side. It obviously wasn’t, but he tried to stretch the material to prove otherwise. I stick to the fact that it needs to be re-done. He proceeds to tell me to just accept it because he doesn’t have the time. I told him that I will not accept bad workmanship. He then called me sick in my head and told me to never come back. Mind you, I was as polite as can be until this point. It is simply bad business practice to do a shoddy job, and ignore the customer’s request for it to be done right. What more, I was repeatedly insulted for his lack of competence. I will never step foot here again. You can receive better service, for cheaper, across the street. If you want shoddy work, with no regard for the customer, this is your place.

I agree with Kenny’s review — these folks do a good job and really make sure to get things clean the right way. The one thing I was surprised about was the price they charge for cleaning shirts(not sure about other items) — it was $ 25.90 to launder 7 dress shirts(which, works out to $ 3.70 a shirt!). Compared to other dry cleaners in the city(on the Upper East and Upper West Sides), this is quite high. I expect to pay up to $ 2.75/shirt compared to other dry cleaners. When I asked the owner why they charge so much, he said it was because they do all the cleaning in-house as opposed to sending it out to some mass-cleaning plant. While I appreciate this fact, I would imagine it would cost them less to clean shirts than more! But maybe owning and maintaining your own equipment is more expensive than shipping the clothes out… Bottom line is that the quality is good, however you will have to pay for it!

Nice neighborhood dry Cleaners. They always do a good job and I am fond the people here. They are always extra careful with my special requests, very cordial and respectful. Not the cleanest looking place but they have excellent customer service and know their customers by name. They are very good at special request. They also Tailor and do alterations on site and offer seasonal storage options.
