This is a very average bar in the west village, nothing more. Service– Very sub par. Nothing terrible but had to ask waitress three times for extra napkins. Food– I ordered lentil soup and a corned beef Reuben. They brought soup and entrée at same time. Very frustrating and inexcusable. Lentil soup was surprisingly very good but Reuben was below average and the corned beef was hard and rubbery. I’ve had much better even in diners. Atmosphere– Fine. It was a quiet Wednesday night, no big games on so no major crowds. Worth noting– The menu had a pretzel appetizer listed and my friend and I were very excited to order it. We were told they no longer serve them. When we asked waitress why the item is still on the menu she just chuckled. Annoying and frustrating. Overall experience **. My advice, skip it. Plenty of other places in that area worth pursuing.

What great food! Probably the best shepherds pie I’ve ever had. Very cozy décor, staff was on point and couldn’t be friendlier. Looks like there is outdoor seating by the 7th avenue entrance. Looking forward to meeting up with friends there when the weather gets warmer. I’ll be back regardless.

I’ll be completely honest and say that a friend and I only stopped in here because she had to use the bathroom but we didn’t want to come in without buying something. Our other friends were across the street waiting in a long line to get into the speak easy, Little Branch. I grabbed my usual drink at the bar and waited for my friend. It wasn’t busy at all inside so I made small talk with the staff. Didn’t make too much of an impression on me. It looks like a typical sports pub. Might return if I’m in the area.

Don’t be fooled by the curb appeal. Inside they’ve carved this place up into terrible seating arrangements in an attempt to let people watch multiple sports games at the same time. It’s not big enough, though, nor does it have enough TV’s, and just ends up sounding like a random bazaar. The staff is slow and unhelpful, and will occasionally lie in an effort to get your business. For example, they’ll happily agree to play a game right up until kickoff and then suddenly reveal that actually your game(Team USA’s game) is only going to be on a corner TV somewhere else and you have to move your table to watch it, around a 90 degree angle, while two different games are playing around it. Nothing like getting screwed at the last minute possible.

I have to say that I like this place. Truth be told, I was surprised the other night when I checked in and was informed that I’d become a duchess because I couldn’t remember ever visiting this bar in the past. But, I guess that just means I must have had a good time, right? Anyway, I came here with a couple friends for Seinfeld trivia night and it was pretty fun. It was held in the downstairs area and drinks and food came quickly, especially considering the crowd. My only complaint would be the AC situation. While the bar upstairs was more than comfortable, it was sweltering downstairs unless you were sitting directly in front of the vent at the actual bar area. I would definitely come back in the cooler months though!

Our large group went to Mr Dennehy’s for the first time on Saturday. This place obviously does not mind taking advantage of its slightly inebriated customers. I ordered food on a separate tab, which they charged 2x the price of the food for their tip(is that legal? I definitely didn’t sign that amount) After a mixup with our large bill, they ended up charging my sister $ 100 that she also did not sign for as a tip, my boyfriend another $ 150 for an «outstanding balance» and another $ 100 for a separate tip that they felt they were entitled to. If you’d like to spend the week after disputing charges with your credit card company, Mr. Dennehy’s is your ideal weekend hotspot.

Mr. Dennehy’s is a Restaurant/Pub in the west village area. I have visited this restaurant a couple of time, not of my own choosing. The food is not really that good. I ordered fish chips and french fries. The chips were kind on oily and the fries were fine. The calamaries never arrived and they always take a long time for the order. In top of everything else, the computer broke down we had to waite extra time for our receipt. *customer service. **food.

I live in the nabe and was itching for a new spot to try out midweek for a random lunch break when i passed by this irish pub. Checked out the reviews and they said it was a classic irish style pub /restaurant and it sure is. Had a blt and soup– solid.

First time in New York! I’ll be back again. Just a short stay. Next time me and wife will see more. But where ever we stay next — The Dennehys is my local. Laura thank you for being our tour guide of New York. You are better than the Internet. Great town. Great pub.

Great Irish bar complete with Irish accented bartenders. The dark oak everything makes you want to warm up with a beer or bourbon while escaping cold and rain. Service here is super hospitable. I walked in as a group of five and we were promptly offered table service or seats together along the bar. The owner moved aside his own water so I could have his seat, and joked around with me any time he came by. The bar is long with room for probably 10 – 15 people, and there are high top tables along the opposite wall. There’s a back area dining room with tables as well if you want to go for dinner. Their manhattans are great, the Guinesses are poured correctly, and their sweet wine selection is limited(I’m fine with that). They do offer a long list of specialty coffee drinks(ie. Irish coffee, with kahlua, with baileys, etc.) that are fantastic in taste and presentation. I’m in. See you there. If the food is good too, consider this a 5 star.

A place to call home. The Bartenders are super personable and tend to their customers well even on a seemingly busy night. Definitely try David’s special margaritas and Jamison/ginger ale!

Mr. Dennehy’s is of the Irish pub ilk that you typically find along 9th Ave. behind Port Authority. Instead, it thankfully resides on Carmine St., in the shabby-chic West Village. It’s an outlier, clearly. But it’s also stood the test of time while other, trendier establishments in the vicinity have shut their doors. To me, it’s still your standard neighborhood pub with a lucky zip of 10014. I do enjoy the all-Irish staff and the accompanying brogue — makes the place feel warm and authentic and apparently a Guinness commercial was even filmed here. The sidewalk seating come the summer is a good move if you can snag a table. I’ve also been in their basement for March Madness viewing parties, and it’s essentially your own private room. Though, to represent Mr. D’s fairly, soccer is certainly the sport of choice here. The street-level main area typically has footie on the tellies and the bar is decked out in clear support of Everton FC. When it comes to food, go for their signature Mr. Dennehy’s Burger — it’s a solid half-pound patty on an English muffin bun. Everything else here has been fine, maybe a little unmemorable, since I, you know, can’t seem to remember anything else standing out, despite being here a good handful of times. The taps are a typical mix of American standbys and UK/Irish imports, and you can usually find a deal or two come happy hour. I wish I had more to say, but Mr. Dennehy’s is what it is — a no-frills Irish pub in a somewhat frilly part of town. Go for a pint, go to catch a match, and, like, Erin go Bragh, brah.

The Quick: Great place to watch the game without insane crowds. The Details: Food was very good«bar food». I recommend the $ 20 pitcher and wings or mozzarella sticks deal during any football game — keeps the boys happy while I get my snack on. I will return. The Damage: Prices are on par for Nyc sports bar. It won’t break the bank to enjoy a few drinks and nibbles here.

I’m going to make this review simple. Not because I don’t feel like writing about Mr. Dennehy’s, but because reviewing this establishment IS simple. It’s a great bar with a food/drink menu that excites bar-food lovers like ourselves. Located just south of Bleeker Street near 7th Avenue, Mr. Dennehy’s offers solid outdoor seating in the summertime, an attentive staff, and a juicy burger with sweet potato fries for $ 13. Oh, did I mention the burger is on an English Muffin? One more thing — it’s delicious. Their menu also offers a Fish & Chips entrée for $ 16. We pride ourselves in being able to go out to eat in NYC and not emptying out our wallets in the process. So, on behalf of the Meals and Reels team, we would like to thank places like Mr. Dennehy’s for keepin’ it real. Check out our NYC Food Reviews on !

I don’t know if I psych myself out but I actually did feel sick after eating here and reading other people’s reviews seems to be a common event. I had the buffalo chicken wrap with the side salad. Tasted okay but I found it odd that they would put cold lettuce on a piping hot plate. Prices were fine though.

Went to Mr. Dennehy’s on 10⁄26 for lunch and to catch a NFL game based on recommendation from staff at our hotel. Plenty of TVs. My wife had the turkey burger and I had the steak sandwich. The turkey burger seemed fresh and was cooked properly, but lacked flavor.(I know, it’s a turkey burger, but some spice would help…) The steak was tough and grisly, with a minimum of caramelized onions and spinach. Both of us got sweet potato fries with our sandwiches and they were probably the best we’ve ever had and the portions were large. You can add 2 hours of unlimited beer to brunch for $ 15, which is a deal if you have more than 2.(That’s per person.) Server was obviously irritated when we weren’t ready to place our food order on her second visit to our table, but overall the service was OK. Might go back for the sweet potato fries and a beer if in the area again, but probably would go elsewhere for a full meal.

My friend and I both had stomach aches after we ate! The $ 11 dollar burrito was supposed to be with wild shiitake mushrooms and goat cheese. The mushrooms were canned for sure, and trader joes frozen burritos tasted better. My friend got wings and said they were terrible. And expensive. Waiter constantly tried to upsale. And for an Irish pub they have a very poor draft list. If you like bud light and expensive frozen food this is the place to go.

TV’s + Beer + Bangers and mash + Great Staff = Great Irish Pub This is a cool relaxed place to come watch the games and have drinks. The food is very good especially for a Pub and the have a great wait staff. The outdoor section is also a nice bonus. I would certainly recommend checking them out to catch whatever game you’re into with a nice cold Stella. :)
