I had a wonderful time here! It doesn’t look like much when you walk in, but the service was wonderful and we got some great recommendations about what to eat. They combined honey with their labneh, which I had never seen before. And it was delicious. All of the pizzas were delicious, the salads, everything. I remember the tables and chairs not being super sturdy, not super comfortable. But the food was fantastic and I would definitely return! It’s a small place, so you may not always get a table right away, but it is definitely worth the wait.

Discovered this little treasure yesterday. Best tabouli salad I’ve ever had! The hummus is fresh and spiced impeccably. We had the chicken pizza –heaven on a plate! Definitely going to become my boyfriend and I new favorite place!

Small spot with consistently delicious food. Vibe is low key, and they don’t rush you in and out. Great spot for solo diners, or casual get togethers.

I’ve been looking for an amazing Mediterranean and I think I finally found it! Don’t be fooled by the take-out atmosphere– everything is so fresh and delicious, and made with love. The lamb kebab– awesome high quality meat and fresh spices. The basmati rice– what do they infuse the water with???- rose water and garlic?! I don’t know– but it’s so good. Falafel– crunchy on the outside, fresh herbs and hot soft chickpea on the inside. The atmosphere could use more of a designer’s touch to elevate it to the level of the food– but other than that– really really great food. It’s cash only, which keeps the prices low, but there’s an ATM in a closet you can use if you ask about it.

Happened upon this charming little place after attending Cherry Lane Theater. Places like this are what make New York City still a special place. The food was enjoyable and distinct, the service good and the restaurant still busy even at 10pm as any good place should be. A great local find which I’ll be coming back to in the future

Juicy meats, tasty sandwiches, warm breads, delicious dips and spreads makes this cozy and tucked away authentic Middle Eastern spot a go-to for me. Flavorful, filling, and cheap. And I never have to wait for a seat. Yay. CASHONLYYYYYY

Moustache has always been interesting to me. Middle eastern styled pizza in an area generally known for wine bars and fine dining. Based on reviews I was prepared for it being cash only and for there to be spotty service(though it wasn’t bad for us). Tiny spot but we got a table in the corner(they wiped it down after we sat). Between two people: ordered the Lahambajin Pitza($ 11), Babaganough($ 7), whole wheat pita($ 2), and fresh baked pita($ 1.50). The pitza was damn good, super thin and crispy with light layering of spiced meaty lamb. Babaganough had some lime juice and olives which was an interesting combo — went well with the pita. I do find it annoying that you have to buy the bread separate from the dish — I mean who’s going to eat hummus/babaganough with a spoon? Also, skip the whole wheat pita. It’s too crispy to eat with the spread, the fresh baked worked way better. Glad I tried this place, as it definitely offers something different for the palette. With so many options for food in the neighborhood, will probably be a long shot to come back again.

I’ve been eating here for over twenty years and I’m never disappointed. The baba is fantastic, great smokey flavor. Love the green pizza. But it’s the ouzi that brings me back. My number one favorite lunch in the mid afternoon on a cold winter day.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. My food just arrived, we took two bites and it’s now in the garbage. It was so bad that I couldn’t wait another day to write this, in the hopes I’d save someone else from ordering from here. The falafel balls are DRENCHED in oil. Fried is an understatement and the only flavor we tasted was stale fryer oil. The rest of the falafel plate was also a joke, with wilted iceberg lettuce, soupy hummus and tasteless veggies. The second dish we we ordered was not any better. If there is such a thing as Grade Z chicken, then that is certainly what they are using. I’ve never had more rubbery, flavorless chicken in my life. I should have known better and ordered from Taim. Never thought I’d have to make two seamless orders within 1 hour. Save yourself and DON’t order from here.

First thing. CASHONLY Place. Appetizer: Baba Ganough salad = Creamy, nutty flavor(Good) Avocado salad = Simple guacamole style, nothing special(Boring) Pita = Very fresh and hot. Best part of the meal(Good) Main Course: Chicken Kabob Plate = 1 inch size cut cubes plated on refried mush brown beans.(Not too flavorful) Ouzi = Rice with chicken and vegs stuffed in a filo dough and a side of yogurt.(Dry and lack of flavor, some sweetness from the raisins)

This place has AMAZING middle eastern food. Everything is made fresh and perfect. The only complaint is that everyone knows this, and there is always a long line outside, because the place is very tiny in side. But the baba ganoush is the best I ever had, perfectly with their pita. Grilled Baby Lamb Ribs Plate is so darn yummy that its hard not to order 2 when I’m there. lol But I have ordered their specialty Moustache pizza and I’ve put the lamb ribs on top. Can I just say HEAVEN!

I would say that everything I’ve eaten here was really very good. I don’t like that they only take CASH an they don’t post that. However I would say that the falafel balls(platter and sandwich) are divine. The bread is incredible and warm and fresh and yummy. The hummus is delicious. I wasn’t crazy about the baba ganoosh as it tasted very smoky. The salad is wonderful and so is the tszaki. The price is right on all the food. I would highly recommend this place. It’s one of the few meals where you walk away feeling completely satified.

Moustache Pitza is the best expression of Levantine food you will find in Manhattan. From the classic folkloric music playing in the background to the friendly, attentive staff to the perfectly executed dishes, I have found no worthy rivals. This place is the real deal, run by the real deal, so being cash ;) The two dishes I ate, and for which I would like to review: The ouzi– An artesanal filo pastry filled with rice, chicken, carrots, peas, and raisins. What’s not to love? The grain of the pastry is met with the delightfully sweet flavors of the rice garnishes. This interplay of flavors is sealed in your lips with the tart, delightful flavor of mint and yogurt. The falafel sandwich– Where to start? Your teeth sink through the freshly cooked pita wrap– toasted and hot– only to pierce through a fresh layer of crisp lettuce, raw tomato, and finally the falafel. The falafel is perfect– a grainy crust with a smooth delicate inside. Make no mistake. This falafel sandwich will not be dressed with intricate sauces that mask its taste like the other lackluster falafels you’ll find. Moustache’s sandwich is a clean, authentic assembly at whose center is the flawless flavor of falafel and tahini. Mark my words– the best falafel in NYC.

CASHONLYANDNEARESTATMISAROUNDTHECORNERWALKING A FEWMINUTES. They don’t seem to advertise this point very well, on the menu or front door or the website, so just remember to hit a bank beforehand. However Moustache is very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get — with a $ 30 bottle of wine, our 2 lamb dishes, pitza, and baba ganoush with pita came to around $ 90 pre-tip. FORTHEFOOD… The Sun Pitza was delicious, as was their tender lamb with rice. However the red sauce that came under the rice was only a small little glob and I wish they had slathered it in there and all over! Its so flavorful but they merely dab what seems like a teaspoon size only on the very bottom… tsk tsk… though might I suggest slicing up some of that lamb and putting it on the Pitza. You will thank me ;-) Their salad is simple and appears to be made from pre-cut spears of bagged romaine. It comes with tomato wedges, onion marinated in olive oil, and some olives. Nothing to write home about, but this isn’t a salad joint so I’ll forgive that. The dish which was surprisingly bland was the Baba Ganoush. It didn’t taste much of eggplant, or of garlic, or of tahini… it tasted more like a bland hummus, but we were starving and it was still edible, but its wasn’t what I’ve come to expect of the dish in any restaurant. SERVICE… was a bit negligent and slow considering the size of this place. Its teeny tiny, and so so charming with its Bedford street location, but our waiters both took a long time to take our order, to bring us our wine, and to deliver the bill after we’d been long done with food and plates were cleared. Overall, Moustache has some yummy comfort mediterranean food on a cozy tree lined street that won’t break your wallet.

This is our go to middle eastern restaurant when we want good food for good value. The lamb and rice is so tasty! Their pita is fresh, definitely order with hummus, you won’t go wrong. They are consistent with quality. Oh and the pitza is worth trying as well!

This spot was incredible. Best hummus I’ve ever had, and the two pizzas we tried the«moustache» and the the lamb were both out of control delicious. Pleasant and simple ambiance with polite efficient service. Cash only btw. Enjoy!

Cute, intimate place that leaves romantic space for audible conversations. Reasonably priced and decent portions. The menu has an eclectic spread of middle eastern to Mediterranean covering lebanese, turkish, etc. Don’t forget the Labna– creamy, yogurt cheesy goodness that goes deliciously with their warm, puffed up, fresh pita. The 3 of us shared a lamb kabob plate, the spinach cheese pie and the moustache pitza(mediterranean pizza) — satisfying and enough to share. We also got the Ayran — yummy yogurt drink that is tart, not sweetened. It was a lactose-tastic meal.

The food here is really really delicious. I loved the flavors and simple presentation. Also, the prices are fairly reasonable. I went on a very cold day and the draft crept into the main dining area pretty bad which made it uncomfortable, but on a nice day I’m sure the draft wouldn’t be a problem(though I don’t know). Good for a first date or a casual night out to eat as the dining area is small, and intimate with dim lighting. The only down side for me was the small portion sizes. I asked if the entrée I wanted to order was shareable and the waiter said it was, only to get a small serving. Definitely not shareable. So I left hungry but what I did eat was very satisfying!

The Quick: inexpensive flavorful food tucked away in a cozy corner of the West Village. Favorite dish: The moustache pizza was incredible! Makes sense it is their most popular dish. I recommend getting that as an appetizer to share along with the hummus– my Sicilian mother claimed the olive oil must have been shipped directly from Greece because it was the best she’s ever had. Atmosphere: quaint and cozy with trendy copper tables and pretty candles. The staff was very friendly and helpful(not to mention handsome!) The damage: under $ 80 for 4 people with 4 entrees and 2 appetizers — unheard of in the West Village. Overall great experience, will be returning.

What a difference between this one and the one on the UES where I frequent !!! They make fresh pita bread but the one we got here was cold. The Loomi tasted like water and their sandwiches were cold too. I’m not sure if it was just that day(we came on a Wednesday) but the service was awfully slow. Plus, this is a cash only place. My tip: Skip this spot and go to the one on the UES.
