Went with the wife and another couple for restaurant week. I was nervous because it was a Friday night and i didn’t have great expectations especially during the busy restaurant week. Morton’s proved me so wrong First off, no wait time. We had a reservation for 8pm we arrived 755 and were seated immediately. While we waited for the second couple we had a glass of wine each. Our waitress, Stephanie’s, recommendation was spot on. When the other couple arrived we ordered. Appetizers came out immediately. Delicious salads and the bread was great as well. My wife ordered the pork tenderloin I ordered the filet. Both were top notch. The lyonnaise potatoes were a great pairings. Wife had the key lime pie for dessert. I had the double chocolate mousse. Not one imperfection in our meal. Last I definitely want to give Stephanie our waitress credit for being such a great waitress. Would definitely go again.

I came here for my husband’s birthday and their service was absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was so intimate and the staff were so attentive, polite, and kind. The food was amazing. My husband had such an amazing time with such delicious food! Yes, it is pricey but it was definitely worth it!

Good steak with good sides. The bread that you get before your meal is amazing but don’t eat too much as the portions are massive. The tomato and blue cheese salad is s good option to Start with and is big enough for two. I always share the Porterhouse and the Brussels sprouts with bacon is a tasty side. I’m often discouraged by the calories info that is on the dessert menu but to be honest they are so tasty — try the chocolate mouse. The wine menu is extensive — I recommend the layer cake for around $ 115 as a solid red with your steak. All in all a good steak house with great desserts. Nice restaurant but is starting to feel a bit like a chain rather than a local eatery

I visited the establishment today for lunch during restaurants week and I must say it was a pleasure and I will be back. Everything from the deco, friendly staff and our lovely staffer(Felicia), who was very personable. Now to the food and the drinks I I’ve the fact they presented the regular menu and the restaurant week menu and I didn’t have to asked for it. I have been to places in the past that participate with restaurant week and did not display the menu unless you asked for it!

I went there today for restaurant week. We had a reservation and it took them a few minutes to figure out where to seat us, but that’s not even a problem at all. They offered a coat check right at the door. This location is large! Beautiful! My boyfriend and I were seated at a curved booth, easily large enough to fit 5 people but it was just for us. The restaurant was busy, it was lunch time and very loud. The service was great. We kept having our water refilled without having to ask. We ordered the 6 oz filet with mashed potatoes. I had the tomato bisque as my appetizer(tasty, but nothing spectacular, standard tomato soup), he had the caesar salad which looked very good. I love the onion loaf bread! The filet was delicious! I also ordered a side of the au poivre sauce(which normally comes with the filet mignon trio, an appetizer). The Au Poivre sauce is incredible. Super flavorful. Amazing. The only downside is that one very small sized gravy boat(like a mini gravy boat, very small) cost a whopping $ 5! For a tiny sauce on the side, it’s an outrageous price even though the sauce is delicious. For dessert, I had the double chocolate mousse which I shared with boyfriend(he got the mixed berries to go because we were so full). The chocolate mousse is wonderful. It’s very very rich. it’s a small portion, but because of how rich it was, it was more than enough to split for two people. it was really excellent. I’m a chocolate lover and this was tasty! It had a drier texture than I expected a mousse to have, but it worked well. This was my first trip to this location(I’ve previously been to the Atlantic City one) but I’ll definitely be back! FYI, They also have a regular, non restaurant week, prix fixe 3 course lunch for $ 35.

I’m giving my review based on the lunch special. For $ 35 it’s a great deal for a steak house in financial district. For $ 35 you get 3 course prix fix. Choice of a few appetizers, entrée and dessert. Entrée choices are filet mignon, rib eye etc. very chic modern ambiance and good service.

My fiancé and I got engaged on the Empire State Building and he brought me here to have a celebratory dinner. What a perfect location for the occasion! The staff was wonderful and so was the food. Even the menu was personalized for this momentous event!

I came here for a party, I mean it’s a steakhouse so you have to order steak, anything other than that can be questionable. One of the options on the menu was salmon with string beans. The salmon was a bit dry for my palette. The décor is really nice and it should be for such a high end place. They have a downstairs so don’t be surprised if they send you there.

Oh Mortons. I have been going to your restaurant since I was about ten, and this last time, I was pretty disappointed. It has sadly turned into another chain restaurant. The food is always great, but there is nothing really spectacular about this steak house vs. any other. I come here because, in the past, the service had been impeccable. This time, however, was a very different story. I arrived with a party of 2 for my guests birthday. We were greeted excitedly by the host and were seated in the lower level upon our arrival, 30 minutes before our scheduled reservation. We had just celebrated the night before, so we were not getting alcohol. But as the meal went on, we began to notice our table was a bit neglected. The manager of the night was talking to every other table multiple times buy only briefly stopped at ours to ask us the single question of how everything was. We noticed(coincidence or not) that every other table got much more attention. Our waiter was nothing great either — the person who fills up water spoke with us more than our waiter and the manager combined. I think I will take this off my list of places to go to since there are so many other places with just as good(if not better) food with better service.

Centre Cut ribeye over marinated and the meat quality really so so. Creamy spinach which is taste creamy but no texture at all. Quit disappointed. Quality goes down. Guess there are lot of steakhouse will serve better than this.

So delicious. lives up to its rep. We came here for a friend’s birthday dinner and had a great evening. Morton’s staff was attentive and created custom menus for the birthday boy as souvenirs. They also went above and beyond and created a Morton’s birthday card with a photo of the group to take home, as well as providing a complimentary dessert. Great experience here — not even talking about the food yet. The garlic bread was amazingly fluffy — would order this any time. I ordered the mixed grill for my entrée and was very pleased with my 6 oz filet, bacon wrapped scallops and grilled shrimp. All the meats were tender and perfectly cooked, and more than enough to fill me up. We also all shared sides of creamed corn and brussel sprouts, which were also the best I’ve had. For drinks, we ordered a chianti that was out of this world. Definitely one of the pricier meals I’ve had, but so worth it for a special occasion.

I eat at Morton’s every time it’s a special occasion, I just love their onion bread(free!) and their steak and spinach and button mushrooms are just AMAZING. Would definitely recommend, it’s fancy and perfect for every occasion.

Yum yum. Service was good and steak delicious. I had the mixed grills with 6 oz filet, 3 shrimps and bacon wrapped scallops. The bacon could have been crispier but otherwise everything was delicious. I was super happy my steak came out at the correct temperature. I don’t normally like filet because of its powdery texture but this one was amazing. Beware of the bread. You won’t be able to stop.

While not as «steakhouse handsome» as their other dining venues Morton’s lower Manhattan outpost can provide a fine lunch experience. Seated at a quiet table for two(not much activity this Thursday afternoon) we decided on the«restaurant week» menu which provided flexible choices at very reasonable prices. Starter bread w/whipped butter was as expected — tasteful and moist. A fresh — no frills — Caesar Salad was a nice start. Choice mains included a 6oz Filet cooked medium and enjoyed. The accompanying mashed potatoes arrived barely warm but were enjoyed as well. The 16oz pork chops option is a restaurant week«steal» and s/b strongly considered. The sizable Key Lime Pie Dessert was a refreshing end to an enjoyable lunch. Service was polite, professional and unobtrusive. With its lite Thursday afternoon crowd here’s hoping Morton’s finds its niche in downtown Manhattan.

I came here with my manager during lunch. He ordered a salad and an appetizer(forgot the name), which looked pretty standard — nothing special. I ordered Morton’s prime burger(wasn’t feeling a steak since I had a lot the previous few days). I felt the burger was good but not excellent and was inferior to a burger at shake shack in all regards. The bun wasn’t as flavorful and tasted very bland. The meat definitely tasted like a quality meat but fell apart like a sloppy joe :(. I ended up struggling with my hands so I just started to use my fork, which is still hard to pick up. Overall, I didn’t enjoy the experience that much. I understand that I should perhaps judge a burger at a steak house differently than from a burger joint but I feel the burger fell short in all areas. I would have rated it a 4 star but the fries were rather bland and uninteresting. I ended up leaving a full plate of fries after eating only 5 or so. Perhaps I’ll order the steak next time I go and revise my review.

Great service. The waitress was accommodating and gave us a specially made caviar plate. My steak was a little too rare and they happily took it back to be cooked more and wanted to be sure I was happy. It was not over priced and good quality. Loved that I could get a 6 oz filet where many places require you to get a 12 oz. if in the area I would come back.

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in New York city. Our concierge recommended Morton’s for dinner. We were very pleased. My boyfriend had the New York steak and I had the salmon. Both were absolutely delicious. Very well cooked and the flavour was amazing. Our cocktails were very mediocre. Now let me tell you why they get 5 stars from me. THECHEESECAKE. One word: amazing. If we had an extra day in NYC we would have definitely gone back just for the dessert. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I would strongly recommend it… Especially the cheesecake.

You’re Mortons. You’re a «steakhouse». Every answer to «what should I get» is «the steak». No surprise there. The surprise is that the 2 filets we ordered medium rare(and were told would have a «warm red center» came Medium Well and pretty darn close to well-done. I seriously have no clue how you can f* that it up that bad. Anyway, 5 of us dropped over $ 1000 here. I wasn’t surprised about the shell bits in the oysters or the oysters that weren’t properly cut out of their shell. My salad was just fine and the onion bread was OK. The sides were pretty good, just like they always are. No fresh whole lobsters were available and there was the usual very good wine that was not surprisingly quite expensive. Service was friendly but not«professional» quality. The sommelier was I think really just the night manager or something, and his wine pouring skills left something to be desired(i.e. wine dripping down the side of the bottle, splattering the white tablecloth, not filling the glasses equally or sharing them out properly. They also didn’t do the grand show of raw meat and seafood brought to your table that you could order like I’ve seen in the past. But the steaks, really? We only ordered 2 steaks between the 5 of us(the rest of us had seafood). Just get the cook on the steaks right, that’s all anybody expects. For $ 48 bucks per steak, you’ve got to do better. — So the manager did follow-up via text but since I was there on business and no longer in NYC not much they can do but say sorry I suppose. But thanks for reaching out.

My review is solely based on Morton’s happy hour during midweek which is pretty decent. This is the only Morton’s location that offers food and cocktails on their bar menu. We ordered the crab cakes(4), salad wedge with blue cheese, trio of filet mignon sliders(excellent) and the truffle parmesian fries. Appetizers were served well temperatured and tasted well with our cocktails($ 7 vs $ 12) and glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon. We capped the night off with the lava cake ala mode and a Jameson milkshake. Not an over indulgence in our eyes. The bar area on the first floor has a lounge setting versus the sub-level of the restaurant which is larger with multiple tables and banquet seating. It’s bright in color yet has dimmed lighting to set a nice mood. The service is attentive and the after hours vibe is professional yet not stuffy. I will be back again and maybe dine this time around.
