Morton Williams Supermarket

It’s about time I reviewed this place, because I eat food from here 2 to 3 times a week on average (yay, meal reimbursement)! I also get some high end cheeses here.
The main attraction for my Guggenheim coworkers and I is the buffet: a fabulous salad bar and deli buffet, both $ 7.99 per pound. Offerings vary, but my favorites are salmon (ANY way they cook it), roast Brussels sprouts, kale greens, lamb chops, steak with onion, rotisserie chicken and for dessert, torta della nona, rainbow, red velvet, and carrot cake slices. It’s easy to get a huge, filling meal here for under $ 15.
The only reason Morton Williams missed a 5^th star is that sometimes the weekend offerings aren’t so great. Often there is no fish on Sundays. Also, sometimes by evening certain items get dried out or eaten up. This is why I try to load up around lunch time.
Note: before 11, there is a breakfast buffet the same price as lunch/​dinner. I hear good things about it from my colleagues, however, I’ve never tried it since I’m not a breakfast food fan.

expensive – as you’d expect from a MW – but clean and sparkling.

We live across the street, so this is by far the most convenient place to shop. We’ve been very patient as it’s transitioned from the Food Emporium, but every single time we have gone to the store since it’s opened, we have been incorrectly charged for items. The sale prices almost NEVER ring up correctly. For example, this weekend, we bought 6 items on sale, and only one rang up at the correct sale price. I can understand that the store may need a transition period, but to be overcharged every time you shop for months seems more like an unethical pricing strategy than a coincidence. I’m sad that we’ll have to walk all the way to D’Agostino, but it’s not worth having to memorize the price of every item you put in your shopping cart and fight with the cashier to be charged the correct price every time you shop for groceries!

I just visited this location and it smells. There was only two cashiers and two ready willing and able men in there with the blue uniforms. It never smelled when food emporium was their. I just wanted to get out of their really quickly.

Such a nice deli department! Also I love the fruit section! It’s very well priced and the set up is easy to find things! I also like how I can reach things easily and have no issues asking for help if I need it! The lines move fast too!
