Morningside Radiology – West Side Radiology Associates

The supervisor is super nice. We chatted & she told me she is in a motorcycle gang! The office is kinda dingy and dark. The walls must be made of paper; I could hear a hyperactive child flipping a magazine in the waiting room from the examination room. The technician should drink some water and eat a breath mint; her breath is like baby diarrhea. I suppose she took a good picture of my breast. Like in all health offices, the staff is sadly indifferent; they’re on the phone whiling away the hours; they sort of barely acknowledge me. So. Not great, not horrible.

Worst experience. They insisted my doctor had ordered a double study ab sonogram in addition to the mammogram I came for. I asked 3 different people to check and then finally caved and agreed to the test thinking perhaps my dr neglected to mention it.
During the sonogram which was incredibly uncomfortable the technician kept asked me about my «missing left ovary» and after telling her I have both ovaries, she insisted that she could see only one, which caused me to start getting very nervous. After a long time she said «I think I see it» Unreal! She then said I was done and I had to remind her of the mammogram.
The mammogram was old school, painful boob squishing on what looked like a very old machine.
The whole place is dumpy and old. They make you carry all your clothing (coat and boots included) with you from room to room.
Best of all: When I was finally done (and freaked out by my maybe missing body part) I went out into the waiting room where a very nice woman with my same last name (smith) was STILL waiting for guess what??? An abdominal sonogram. She said they kept calling my name for a mammogram and asking her if she was me.
They refused to print out or write anything for me in case my insurance won’t pay for this test I should have never had.
Wondering now if my poor friend from the waiting room with one ovary will end up with the right test!
Go somewhere else!!!

I don’t know why I put off having my boobs smashed for so long. This was not only quick, but not as weirdly uncomfortable as I thought it would be.
Nice office, friendly staff… and nipple stickers. Too small to be considered pasties, but the metal tips were a plus.
So, now I have yet another life maintenance task to do every year. And since it was such a breeze, I have no excuse but to keep up on my breast health.
