Nothing equal to Mimis hummus in the city ! The right texture, spiciness, and size . Excellent whole wheat pitas and falafel are great addition as well as the salads.

This is not a cheap falafel spot. I had the chicken shawarma which was delicious although very messy — a plate would have been useful instead of just a metal taco holder. Limited selection of beverages. We also ordered the large hummus and pita which was delicious. By far the best hummus I have ever had.

Yum. My spouse and I had the cauliflower appetizer, the Iraqi sandwich and the mejadra bowl. All were fantastic. The seasoning in the cauliflower was great and I am going to try at home. The Iraqi sandwich was as good as I had in Israel. The mejadra bowl was complicated and great. Delivery was fast.

Much needed edition to 14th Street. I love the original Mimi’s and so happy to have one near home and be in the delivery zone. All of the food is excellent, though prices are on the high side. My biggest pricing qualm is with the shwarma bowl. It is almost 3X as chicken and rice from the cart and about the same level of tastiness, which is delicious(street meat is probably my #1 reason for staying in New York all these years). I think the hummus and vegetables are a better value.

Mimi’s Hummus is a great lunch addition for the neighborhood! I’ve eaten here three times now and it’s been consistently fresh and delicious. Staff has always been exceptionally friendly, too. First, I tried the shawarma bowl, which was a filling portion of rice and marinated chicken in a yogurt sauce. While excellent, I found the dish a bit too monotonous… I experienced the same feelings the next time when I ordered the hummus bowl with falafel. Again, the taste was wonderful and it was a hearty portion but I felt that by the time I was halfway through, I was bored and craving different flavors. Which is the reason I was so thrilled to find that now Mimi’s is serving a lunch special! $ 12 for your choice of bowl(including chicken shawarma, beef or lentil/bulgar mix) and side vegetable(such as spiced carrots, cauliflower, beets, salad, etc), served with a small hummus and warm, fluffy pita. It’s the best of all worlds — you can now sample it all! I will definitely return for the excellent lunch special. Highly recommended!

Walking in you’re greeted with the smell of distinctly middle eastern spices that suggest this place is going to be good. Plenty of seating for a small place and lots of natural light. I got the Iraqi pita pocket and it was far from a garden variety pita with unabashedly distinct flavor, just what I was looking for. It was quite stuffed and satisfying for a light lunch. Their natural cranberry soda was great too – semi-sweet, rustic-feeling, and with a pleasingly gratuitous amount of soda bubbles. The complimentary water in a classic tin jug is accented with cucumber, a nice touch. This place is definitely going on the 14th street lunch rotation.

Food was delicious, but we did not receive what we ordered. It’s quite annoying to wait an hour for dinner and for part of it to be missing. The woman who answered our call to notify them we’d paid for hummus and falafel that was missing was kind enough, I just hope my credit card is reimbursed.

I have been here twice. The falafel was a bit over-fried and hard. Both times it was during the lunch hour«rush,» but the restaurant only had a couple people in there and both times it took over 10 minutes just to get a falafel sandwich. They need a better system. They also add their own unique toppings and sauces but they really are not coming together very well. The combination of mango curry sauce and pickled items made everything taste oddly sour. My husband and I could not finish our sandwiches. I don’t want to sound mean, but it really takes a lot to mess up a falafel sandwich and we are both not picky eaters.

This place is great! All the portions are very generous like other reviewers noted. The meat hummus is incredible and the pita is just about the best I’ve ever had! Tried the beets last time which were great, the carrots and bowls are next on my list. Highly recommended for a quick, affordable, healthy lunch/dinner.

Got a falafel in a pita. Everything was really fresh, and their homemade green jalapeño hot sauce is delicious. The sandwich had a mustard-y sauce on it that I wasn’t crazy about, but still, the food is really good quality. Def want to go back to try other things on the menu. People who work there are real nice too.

Shawarma is better than Murrays down the street. Great seasoning and worth the slight premium in cost. I’ll be coming back with friends to try more on the menu.

Absolutely fantastic middle eastern food. The hummus is well flavored, smooth and rich. All the spices, flavors, etc., are fresh, perfectly balanced. Falafel is amazing. Pita is amazing. Can’t recommend it enough. This is the good middle eastern food option the village has been waiting for.

I was very perplexed by their Eat24 menu, which had $ 10+ prices for various hummus items… then I was handed my bag, and realized how substantial this portion is. Really damn good, too. Definitely get at least one extra pita to mop it up, though it’s certainly good enough to just spoon up. My low expectations for this spot were totally blown away! Across from KFC and a few doors down from IHOP, Mimi’s Hummus opened three weeks ago in a charming, fresh space with friendly staff and ample seating. A welcome addition to a forlorn food block on 14th St. Prices are a little steep for the area, before you come make your peace with the fact they are charging restaurant prices for takeout food. Thankfully my meal here was better than most restaurants in the area and very much worth it. Chicken shawarma bowl($ 14) is a generous pile of dark meat chicken, braised onions, fresh cilantro, amba and a splash of yogurt over seasoned rice. The chicken was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor — we tasted turmeric and lemon and enjoyed every bite. Falafel hummus($ 9) comes with white or whole wheat pita. They fry the falafel to order and serve the pita warm, these touches make a big difference. The hummus itself was delightful and plated beautifully with the tahini, hummus and olive oil swirled across the bowl and sprinkled with fresh herbs. Tasty green hot sauce and cucumber-infused water are available for self service. The staff checked to make sure we liked everything. The décor is tasteful. The bathroom, spotless. Needless to say I’ll be coming back soon, this place is bomb and I hope they maintain these high standards for the long term.

Some of the best Falafel in the city. The pitas are delicious, affordable and they don’t skimp on the portions. The flavors are amazing — subtle fennel, roasted tomatoes and fresh tahini in the falael(which are perfect, crispy fried on the outside, just right on the inside), and a step above anything you can get at a street cart. Clean, cute and the staff is super friendly. I was there this morning for brunch but I’m looking forward to going back for dinner. They have a great beer selection I’m looking forward to trying. I was there this morning for brunch and there weren’t nearly as many people as there should be. Guys! Go to Mimi’s to eat! If they close I will be so unhappy, they’re the best thing to move onto the block in ages.

The food is fantastic: the falafel rivals Taïm’s and the Iraqi pita is an unusual, delicious combination of flavors and textures. Unsurprisingly, the hummus delights, with a brightness rarely found without a concomitant overwhelming lemon flavor. The corner of 2nd Avenue and 14th has long been a dead zone for food, and Mimi’s makes it a destination. There’s finally great Middle Eastern /Mediterranean in the Union Square /East Village /Gramercy area. Forget Murray’s Falafel, which has always been an afterthought in taste but survived due to limited competition. Try everything on the Mimi’s menu.

I have been so excited for Mimi’s to add a location in Manhattan! This is a perfect addition to 14th street. Mimi’s a healthy option that won’t disappoint. The interior is really cute, and they offer water infused with cucumber in these pretty blue and white tin cups. I chose to try the lemon sparkling soda– amazing and so refreshing! They have every thing from hummus plates, to pita wraps and bowls. I opted to the chicken shawarma bowl. Wow, not only was this delicious but also beautiful. I could taste how fresh everything was with the mint, parsley and red onion. It made me feel good while I was eating it– a very satisfying dish. I can’t wait to go back and try more things! I think my next visit will probably be pickup on my way home from work.

Stopped by to have a chicken shawarma in a pita for lunch. It was really good — one of the better shwawarma sandwiches that I had in the city. The meat, the pita bread and all the extras were great, everything was tasty. I thought it was kind of weird that they don’t have sodas — was really hoping to have a coke with my lunch, but the IPA that I had was good. Other than that it was a great experience — made me wanna stop by again to try out more stuff from their menu.
