How one can tell a Dominican salon is GREAT!
1) its packed by noon. Everyone and their mother is coming their trying to get their hair done while you’re waiting. If you’re around in the afternoon — you’d be surprised by how many people they turn away for coming late
2) you see the licensing on the wall. Not from just any hair academy, some fancy named beauty school in DR. These are not just women that «know how» to do hair. They are licensed professionals that take hair seriously.
3) The shampoo lady asks what services you are seeking. The stylists are too busy keeping the assembly line going.
4) The stylists ask you very few questions. This is not rudeness, its confidence.
How one can tell a Dominican salon that can truly do all types of hair:
1) No one pounces on you when you walk in. No one needs to «feel» your hair before accepting your as a patron
2) The shampoo lady is knowledgeable about your hair. You will hear her consult (about roller size) with the styling team while she preps you. She will tell you, you need a deep conditioning!
3) They won’t tell you a crazy price, just to service you. You will have to have extra long hair for that.
So I was nervous to come here. My sister went there and she looked great — but she doesnt have an afro. my friend from work went — but she wears a relaxer… being tired and daring I finally went… — Milagros Touch — Wonderful salon. Experienced stylists. I was under the impression I had to pay big dollars for a decent hairstylist doing my natural hair. Each time I go to this salon — I have yet to be disappointed. (ONLY THE WEATHER)
I have had my natural locks, shampooed and cut. I’ve worn my hair out of there both curly wet and blowdried. Milagros, Mari, and Ingrid are professional hair stylists that LOVE doing hair. I show them the picture — its DONE. I love them, Its always super busy but they still do your hair like you’re the only one there. Don’t come in a hurry on Saturday. Don’t get frustrated, just get a book and sit under that dryer! Too hot? Go to the store next door or stand outside for a second. Kids? no problem. Just try to respect others and come early! Everything will go better if you relax. Just bring your photos and headphones. Be realistic with your requests.

BEST Dominican shop in the area. I’ve been a loyal costumer for years now. I will travel from anywhere to have Milagros or her daughter Ingrid do my hair.
