I would say this place is a decent noodle shop. It’s not the best, not the worst; however, because I work in the financial district, it is very convenient. There is not much variety around the area unless you’re looking for a chain restaurant. Mike’s is subpar noodles for a standard $ 10 – 12 price that can fill you up. Their curry udon with pork is pretty good, especially their hot chili oil sauce for a $ 1 more!

Pork belly, which is a very fatty piece of meat, is very hard to make so dry and flavorless. How can you make pork belly submerged in broth taste so so dry? The flavor was very off putting, though I can’t describe what was wrong with it exactly. I don’t usually voice complaints, but I was a little upset that I paid $ 12 for not even mediocre but just bad ramen. When I told the guy at the counter he said okay, and agreed to tell his manager. I didn’t want anything, and I wouldn’t have accepted a refund or coupon, but I was surprised that there was no offer made to compensate me at all. I hope that this was just a one one thing and someone made a bad call saving yesterday’s pork or something…

I had the Udon noodles with pork, they were fantastic and the portion size was great. Delivery was very quick also. I’ll definitely be ordering from here again. Great find down in financial.

I went for the shrimp udon noodles since everyone here was ranting about the ramen(and honestly it doesn’t look very appetizing in photos). The udon was lackluster and disappointing. Tasteless, no veggies, just noodles and 5 – 6 pieces of shrimp. I was hoping to find a delicious noodle place in FiDi but this is most definitely not it.

I’m no noodle expert, but this place is delicious! Fresh and flavorful. Lots of options on the menu, and they deliver. Great find in the Financial District.

Ehh, so disappointing. While having Ramen delivered is not ideal, it also does not have to be this bad. Was dying for Ramen at work so I ordered through . The pork was very hard yet fatty, the broth was nothing special(just plain salty) and the noodles below average(I don’t like soggy Ramen noodles but these were too hard). Nothing worse than the self loathing you experience after consuming non-worthy calories. Never again.

Nothing special. I ordered the curry egg noodles. It was ok. The indoor seating is limited, so I know during rush hours(lunch and dinner) it would be difficult or impossible to sit and eat. It appears to be a take out kind of joint though anyway. Good place to stop if your in a rush and need quick food.

I ordered this for lunch last week under the influence of my boyfriend who is a huge fan, and it did not disappoint! I went with with the traditional pork ramen with house spice on the side and it was delicious. So delicious that I got way too excited when I realized my plans for tonight were cancelled and I would be able to order it again for dinner! I highly recommend this place!

Bland, No taste and the noodles were hard. I’ve had better Top Ramen for .45 Cents. Very Disappointing

Ordered delivery due to a discount code and well, the too good to be true axiom holds true. The beef noodle soup was mediocre at best and the scallion pancakes didn’t seem to have any scallion pieces. The delivery wait was also longer than expected.

I usually don’t give bad reviews, in fact this is my lowest so far. But I have to agree with many of the other reviewers. I should have heeded the warnings. I normally only give good or better reviews or don’t even bother with bad places. But this is Ramen darn it! Bad ramen is a crime! I mean, if it’s not expected to be good, like some airport multi-Asian place or somewhere in the middle of rural America, there’s no surprise. But this is in NYC, surrounded by many good Ramen places, and this is not cheap either, just as expensive as the others, but without any of the quality. I can’t imagine what the goal of this place is, to overcharge for poor quality and trapping unsuspecting visitors and first timers. It certainly can’t be for volume and repeat customers. I tried the miso ramen, usually my first test at any ramen joint. Noodles were unremarkable, unflavorful, and lacked texture. They were the thin Chinese style, not the thick Japanese style. Not that this is a deal breaker, I had good ramen of both types. This just tasted like you got some cheap chow mein noodles from a cheap grocery store, and carelessly boiled them with clumps and all, then threw in some cheap miso paste in. Totally lacking any flavor and heartiness and richness you expect from miso ramen broth. And thinly sliced dry flavorless chicken breast instead of traditional char siu pork? Again, seems like a gimmick disguised as a cost savings. Some people gave good reviews for some of their other rice dishes and non-ramen items. But they have noodle in the title of their shop. And although I usually give a place a 2nd chance, in this rare case I have no desire at all to try. Note: 2 stars is generous, really deserved 1 but gave benefit of doubt with only a single visit.

I did not have high expectations, but I have it a shot since it was the only place that delivered ramen. Delivery was quick and they bring the broth separate from the other ingredients, which is nice. However, there was not nearly enough broth when it all came together. The chicken was extremely dry, even after I let it soak in the broth. The chicken dumplings were completely inedible they were so overcooked Overall, if you are looking for ramen to be delivered and have no other options, it will do. If you are leaving your house, then I highly suggest you take your business to one of the very worthy ramen shops in NYC.

I tried this place when it first opened and they were offering free fried rice and ramen. I chose the vegetable fried rice, and I must say, it was really good. It wasn’t greasy at all and it had a nice amount of zucchini, onion and egg in it. The portion was large enough for 2 meals. I have been back since then, and ordered the vegetable fried rice again– and again, it was very tasty. I will return :)

I’m going to summarize this place in a haiku: For dinner I came The Ramen I have tasted Never returned again Most of you are probably thinking, there’s an extra syllable in the haiku, and you’re correct. In a way it’s how I see the food here, close but just not good enough to come back to

(I posted this review about 5 months ago but it was in the wrong place. It was under the name of the restaurant«Kortako» that used to be in the same location. So I have moved my review here, to the correct place for it and deleted the other review) As I wrote last week, I returned from a summer in Japan where I partook of the myriad delights of absolutely killer ramen all over Tokyo. So I was stoked to discover that«Kortako» has somehow transmogrified into«Mike’s Noodle House». Notwithstanding the fact that whoever owns this place is greatly in need of someone with better naming/marketing skills, I was very happy to find a new place for ramen in FIDI. I really WANTED this place to be good. The counter girl was very pleasant, the place was clean albeit a bit too sterile, but I was willing to give it a shot. Let me say again, I had high hopes that this place would be delicious and that they would succeed in this location. Oh well, all hat, no cattle. The ramen was awful. You could expect better ramen in a mall food court. A lousy mall, maybe in Topeka, Kansas. It was sad to get this ramen, especially with the memory of Tokyo so vibrant in my consciousness. And the prices were at a par or higher than some of the better ramen places in NYC. Even Ajisen Ramen, a middling chain restaurant in Chinatown, is FAR better, and cheaper. The unhappy verdict on the pork broth ramen(see photo): 1) Broth — metallic, salty, poor. They claim no MSG but it sure tastes like it. Maybe just grossly over salted. 2) Noodles — that sums it up. Noodles, not tasty, chewy, ramen noodles. Just commercial egg noodles. 3) Egg — Not orangey, runny, delicious egg. Just a crummy hard boiled egg. 4) Char Su Pork — that’s the problem, this was not the slightly charred, tender, flavorful pork that belongs in proper Japanese ramen. It was tough, tasteless, overdone and dry. Really bad. 5) Nori — nori was OK. 6) Presentation and portion — see photo. I am really sorry to write this crummy review. They are nice people and I really do want a good ramen place in this area. I supposed it is OK for an overpriced last resort if you must have a ramen fix, but it is not what I call ramen. I guess«Mike’s Noodles» is an apt description.

Dry egg noodles with beef You get a big bowl of noodles topped with four slices of dry beef, half an runny egg(best part) and a piece of bok choy. It’s about 80% noodles and 20% topping, kinda like ramen, except that it’s missing the best part, the broth. Better cooked meat and more vegetables would be appreciated.

This is a huge disappointment to me. I came here thinking I will at least get a decent quality bowl of ramen but it was all a dream. It is even worse than those cooked up in a deli. First of all, they charge you quite hefty for a very mediocre ramen. They even asked $ 1 extra if you want your soup spicy. It would have been reasonable if they use a special broth. Unfortunately, that $ 1 comes with a hot sauce in a small plastic container for your own use and it is no special sauce. Secondly, my chicken was very blend and sort of dry. I was expecting some juicy and well marinated chicken slice but instead I got some really dry meat. Overall, it was a waste of my $ 14 here and there is no way I will be returning.

First review!!! YAYYY I ordered the tonkotsu chashu ramen and it is pretty good. Of course, I don’t hand out stars easily but it’s decent considering it is going for a fast food feel to support financial district. I really hope that they stay! I actually didn’t get to taste kortako. For me, I personally thought the broth was a bit too salty and not thick enough. For ramen, the broth is the bulk of the weight. As for the noodles, it tastes like they were hand pulled but a bit jelly-ish? Hmm. A bit of boing isn’t bad. Came here to eat noodles for my brothers bday noodles. Shout out to my baby bro bro Shuwei!
