I am having surgery through Midtown podiatry and have had problems with scheduling from the start. The date I was initially scheduled to have surgery was moved back a week because the doctor, Dr. Shah, would be out on vacation — but we scheduled this about a month in advance. I find this to be very unprofessional given the short(2 weeks) notice since I have had to rearrange my works schedule to accommodate. At my first visit, the doctor and I decided to operate on the 4th and 5th toes on both feet. At my follow up visit, she did and actually thorough exam of my feet and decided that would have to have work done on toes 2 – 5 on both feet, so I can no longer have one surgery date to have everything done. I now have to find more time away from work for recovery than initially expected. Once the surgery was rescheduled, I was told that I could pick up my prescriptions the week before. I called the office to pick them up, and was told the prescriptions aren’t there and the doctor is not in the office to write them. If I wasn’t so far in the process I would have found another provider. I have been disappointed in the care I have received to date.

I called the downtown location and was able to get an appointment the same day. When I got there, I did not have to wait, in fact I got there a bit earlier than my scheduled appointment and was seen before it as well. The doctor and staff were both friendly. Doctor Splichal was the one who saw me, she diagnosed my problem right away and handled it right there. She was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience.
