What a cool addition! I’m already a fan of this venue on the weekends (Slake) and now, it seems, they are booking americana bands during the week!
Nice, intimate setting to see some free/​cheap live music. There is a small stage in the front room and a larger «main stage» in the back that was not in use when I visited.
Bar staff is attentive and friendly. Drinks are strong and there was a 2−4−1 deal when my wife and I stopped by on a recent Thursday after work.
NYC needs more places like this. It doesn’t come across as pretentious, in fact, quite the opposite. If you crave some live music during the week and don’t want to take a chance on a high-​cover gig downtown, Midtown Live is the spot!
