Nothing spectacular about the space. The main entrance is very nondescript and if you’re not specifically looking to see an event/meeting here, you’ll walk by it and completely miss it or fail to notice anything about the building. The indoor space was set up like a typical convention center with vendors(I went to MoCCA so they were all artists) but smaller than your typical convention center minus the stadium height ceilings and anything flashy. The food(not sure if the event hires the restaurant or the MetWest does) but not only did it smell bad, it looked unappetizing. And the café was set up next to the main floor space so the scent of old, microwaved food wafted around. So strictly commenting on the space itself, it was nothing great. Small-ish, split into two floors with so-so ventilation.

Like many others, I came here for a Macallan event. The space is actually not bad for a public event, though of course it’s basically on 12th ave, which sucks to get to. For the event, they did a tasting and hors d’oeuvres on the top floor, followed by a sitdown presentation on the first floor. The convention space downstairs is pretty big and there are two screens next to the stage. Some obstructed views, but not too many.

I’ve been here for Macallan tastings, Fashion week events and most recently a Lexus automobile launch event/press party. This venue is large, not terrible hard to get to and has decent acoustics for a place that’s medium-large sized. They have approximately 2 bathrooms on their main level(one for men and another for women) and also a kitchen for events that require food preparation. The white walls and customizable studio lighting really help set the mood, tone and feel for whatever event is happening here so that’s cool for people who use this space. One thing that I have noticed throughout my handful of times here is that it always gets hot. Doesn’t matter if it’s a crowded event or something where it’s not crowded at all(which was pretty much the case last night), there’s never a lot of air circulation or air conditioning. If Metropolitan West fixed that, then this space would be 10x better.

Was here the other night for a Macallan tasting event! Raise the Macallan! Not a bad event space for these type of soirees. Spacious top level floor to mix and mingle, and an equally larger lower level for all kinds of presentations. Clean bathrooms, friendly staff working here, coat check, and decent guys working security at the doors. The only downside is that this place is way over on the west side close to the Hudson River by 12th Ave. Worth the schlep if the event is a good one to attend.
