I used to be a Mansky client many years ago, but due to a change of insurance, had to stop going for a while. In the time that followed, I tried out many other dentists, landing in occasionally sketchy situations: equipment/offices that seemingly hadn’t been renovated since 1982, disturbing«factory» approaches to clientele, or just plain ol’ meanies. But once my insurance plan changed back to a more open network, I was able to return to Dr. Mansky’s gentle hands. What a relief: the dental-shopping nightmare had come to an end! While he’s conducting the check-up, the good dentist Mansky shares tidbits of growing up in Manhattan back in the day, and we usually exchange a few foodie recommendations – one hardly realizes that he’s actually doing his job at the same time. Hygienist Avi too is sure-handed in her inspections and cleanings and is patient with my incompetent flossing practices, and the receptionists are friendly even when I’m running late, and make sure to remind me of my appointments in advance. They also do some wacky lotteries during the end-of-year holidays, though I have yet to win that electric toothbrush that I put a bid in for each year.

Dr. Mansky has been my dentist for many years. While the commute to his office takes me about an hour, it is worth the time. I have tried other dentists that are more local, but they do not have the same calmness and patience that Dr. Mansky exhibits. His techniques for de-stressing not only help me when I am in the dentist chair, but also in my everyday life.

This place seemed so nice in the beginning and then it turned into one big sales plug. There is no privacy between treatment rooms, which I found disconcerting. Every other word out of someones month was about teeth whitening, headache treatments, my gummy smile… Very creepy. Nice massaging chair in the waiting room thought. And it took 2.5 hours for a check up.
