Amazing selection of furs. THE REAL STUFF. This place has it all — coats, vests, hats, they even sew and assemble on-​site. AND they do wonderful custom work for your exact specs. Marc and George are great salesmen and worked with my clients with wonderful charm and professionalism. I’ll be returning to them for my wife’s next Christmas present. Prices were outstanding. I mean c’mon people, pay for quality, it’s fur! You don’t want the imitation stuff.

I received extremely rude treatment from this place. On their website they say they buy vintage and estate furs, but when I called to ask about this on behalf of a well-​known celebrity, the woman I spoke to said they don’t buy «old» furs. That is the definition of vintage. When I asked for a referral she also claimed she had no idea who does buy vintage furs, that she has never heard of Henry Cowit inc., the largest buyer of used and vintage furs in the country. I was shocked at how rude and condescending this woman was and would advise anyone considering doing business with this place to take that into account.

I took two vintage fur coats to Marc Kaufman to be cleaned. They came back looking great. I called several fur shops to compare pricing for fur cleaning and they had the most reasonable price per coat. I also bought the Unilocal deal and they let me use it towards my bill. A good experience overall.

Took my grandmothers coat to repair because I love it, and the service was great. The groupon was honored, the sleeve was fixed in 3 days. Great job and very sweet man I will definitely store my coat there this year! Love the service

we had a terrible experience trying to get back a coat from storage. The woman we spoke to was so rude. It was only when we threatened to go to the police that the coat was suddenly found. I would avoid this place and find an honest furrier

I have been looking for someone to turn my old fur into a lining. I might have chosen Marc Kaufman, but I discovered that they posted on their blog a quote from NY Magazine’s 2005 «Best of New York» about fur remodeling without attribution and changed the name from the recommended Paul Waltzer to Marc Kaufman. It’s entirely possible that they do an excellent job, but ethical behavior is an important part of my vendor selection.

Just got a great deal on a gorgeous ¾ length shearling coat. Huge selection, wonderful people (ask for Rita), they were able to shorten sleeves on the spot.
This was a lucky find on our part since we went to the garment district looking for a different store, and stumbled upon Kaufman Furs.
No pressure, tons of variety and particularly for end-​of-​season — fabulous store!!!
