The food was ok, but as an African American Professional Lesbian couple we were treated like we could not afford the cheap prices. I read the menu and started to order, everything I asked for the lady replied with«that cost …»(what the price was) Then she tried to tell me what to order and replied«that is cheaper». After I finally placed our order the food was so so. I should have taken the $ 1 pizza next door!

Came here several times. This restaurant serves Szechwan cuisine. It is quite busy whenever we come for lunch.

Very quaint hole in the wall = Great food. Very cordial and attentive staff. We stopped in at 9 pm and the restaurant was busy. We were seated immediately by the window so we could people watch while we ate. Appetizer was the steamed shrimp dumplings = fantastic. Entre was the shrimp Pad Thai = a little too saucy however there was no skimping on the shrimp, I counted 12 good sized shrimp. The wife and I will definitely visit again on our next trip.

love that their menu caters to both the authentic chinese crowd, and the more american dishes. i always cave and get homie noodles soups, and the portion is nice and big for their pricing. everything i’ve ordered has always been super tasty, authentic as if i just took a train down to chinatown. i’ve had roast pork, wonton, and beef stew. haven’t dined here but it gets quite packed during lunch for dine in!

I’ve been eating here long time. Cantonese roast meat noodle soups are excellent. Always very crowded at lunch but they are fast. Everything really fresh all the time. Soooooooo good!

For what it is, I have no complaints. This review is purely for a lunch takeout. We came around 1:20 and the place was packed. We ordered our food and decided to wait outside. In around less than ten minutes we walked back inside to check on the status. The food was already ready. Superbly fast service. I had the chicken & eggplants in garlic sauce and white rice. It came with a wonton soup. The total came out to $ 9.55. I didn’t want the wonton soup initially but when I saw that it was a clear broth I tried it. It was really delicious. Not salty like the typical Chinese take out wonton soups. The soup was a 5⁄5 for me. The chicken & eggplant dish was huge! It was better and bigger than most Chinese food take out places. Overall, for takeout, this place deserves a 4⁄5 star. Great food, fast service, and pleasant experience. Will be coming back to get my Chinese take out fix!

I would not recommend this place at all. The food was not all that great, it’s crowded and really grimy inside, the service was slow, and worst of all it’s super overpriced for being on 6th Ave in Midtown. Trust me on this, if you’re really craving Chinese food head anywhere else. Also, with a name like Main Noodle House I would have expected more of the menu to be focused on noodles, but it wasn’t.

this is the best place to go if you are craving for a noodles soup or chinese dish around Bryant Park. i ordered the beef stew and asked them to add wonton in it, and it is one satisfying meal for me. if you are in a diet, i don’t think this place is for you because the serving of their noodle soup is hyuuuuuge!!! LOL on a busy weekday lunch, expect to wait because the place is just a 20 – 30 seater… but if your lucky you can get a seating soon as you get there

The Main Noodle House hands-down is the best place to go for Chinese in the NYC/Midtown area, if not the entire borough of Manhattan. The portions are ample and the food is flavorful. For an appetizer try the scallion pancakes, hot and sour soup or wonton soup. As a main course, I like the Sautéed Chinese Eggplant with Garlic Sauce, Chicken with Lemon Grass, Chicken with hot pepper sauce and peanuts, Sesame Chicken and General Tso’s Chicken. My only criticisms are they tend to rush you when you sit there for lunch. In their defense, this is the only way to cut down on long wait times. The line to order food«to-go» at lunch is also often out the door and chaotic. My advice would be to order ahead or have your meal delivered. In all 4 out of 5 stars!

Talk about an excellent find while walking around the city! Stopped here for lunch — we were seated promptly. Service was fast, the food came out at like, warp speed. Lunch special with soup and an entrée was about $ 9.00. Mai Fun was awesome, so was the Lo Mein — not totally drenched in sauce like a lot of places. Egg Drop soup was awesome too! Waitress was kind of a jerk when we paid, we decided to leave a tip on the table instead on our credit card. She came back and basically yelled at us that«this isn’t right, there is no tip». Um, it’s on the table, and now 4 dollars less… But — food was great, I recommend!

I wanted a quick lunch, so I popped in here around 2pm on a Sunday.(I’m actually writing this review around an hour after I ate lunch there haha) It was very packed, but I was able to be sat at a table for one very quickly. I ordered Chicken with Broccoli with wonton soup, fried rice and a spring roll. The wonton soup was decent. It wasn’t too salty. When my rice came, it was just plain white rice. SIGHHH. I couldn’t find a server and I was on a lunch break… so I didn’t have time to have it replaced. Ugh. They give a generous portion of the entrée! It was pretty average. Not amazing but it wasn’t the worst I’ve had either. The spring roll wasn’t completely cooked inside either so I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. After I asked for my check, I realize that a woman who asked AFTER me got her’s first. Le sigh. After I get my check a few minutes later, I end up getting up to go to the cashier. They are pretty understaffed. Only two servers for the whole restaurant. There are also two cashiers, but they tend to stay put most of the time. They are a decent lunch spot… I feel full! But if I paid non-lunch prices, I’d feel like it wasn’t really worth it.

Yummy. Good vegan options. Good prices. They dont skimp on veggies/tofu for vegan noodles. They have hoisin sauce but don’t bring it out unless you ask. Overall a nice place but not quite as good as phở. Will probably return. great service. I think there’s a credit card minimum.

This is a pretty average, normal Chinese place near both Koreatown and Times Square. There are authentic things on the menu, and there are also very American Chinese dishes too. Nothing I’ve had here strikes me as great, but not bad either. They’ll give you a lot of food and the food is pretty cheap.

I haven’t had anything other than wonton soups here so my rating is based on just that. The soup is a clear broth with lots of dumplings. it’s not full of sodium like other places. It’s always packed there so they must be doing something right. fast ordering and your food is ready fast!

Despite its proximity to Korea Town, Main Noodle House seems to have learned nothing about how to balance serving the tastes of «locals» and those from the«diaspora.» Instead I imagine the only people who would be satisfied with a meal here would be a third category«naïve tourists.» Nominally a Cantonese restaurant but without the attention to detail and flavor that a wonton house should have, Main serves up huge portions of subpar food. My bowl of noodles contained char siu that appeared to have been roasted around the turn of the century, overly fat, limp noodles and a broth with the primary ingredient of salt. Coming here was an impulse move after a meeting that went long. I feel bad for subjecting my teammate to this sub-par fare. At least the prompt and efficient service meant we were on to our next destination quite quickly.

Typical, greasy, standard Americanized Chinese food. Flavors were pretty bland – I grabbed takeout one night for my boyfriend and I and it was really underwhelming as far as flavors go. I wasn’t impressed with even the simple dishes: chicken with broccoli, beef with garlic sauce, pork fried rice, scallion pancakes and pork dumplings. The dumplings were way too doughy, scallion pancakes lacked any flavor and were far too greasy. And it took quite a bit of time for me to actually get my food. Looks a little dusty inside the place, they could stand to jazz it up a bit and give it a deep cleaning. The woman at the counter was reasonably friendly, but considering that I spent a whopping $ 46 on this, I would have liked it if SOMETHING we ordered was delicious enough to be half-eaten. Not returning, not sure why the fuss. Bland.
