What a great place. My girlfriend brought me here and the food was great. We had the guacamole as the appetizer and it was very good. It had a different kick to it, not sure what it was but I really liked it. My gf had the garlic shrimp and I had the steak and shrimp. Both extremely good. The seasoning was delicious and the food was fresh. Definitely recommend this and I will back… Probably for the tipico at night lol

I have been going to this place for about 6 years. I have never had a problem. The food is awesome and the pricing is amazing. The owner is a really cool guy. I am here once a week at least…

This place sucks balls. Owner is a sham. Contacted me about sorting things out and never did a thing to rectify the situation.

Terrible service. We waited for our food for almost an hour and we were the only customers inside the restaurant so it obviously wasn’t busy. We asked for water twice and no water until almost an hour later. Then I asked the waitress where our food was, and they forgot about us that’s why we were waiting too long. Never coming back.

Lugo lounge looks nice from the outside. Good tipico breakfast variety. But my issue isn’t the food. Yes it’s greasy. Yes it tastes good. My issue is the blonde morning hostess who changes the prices as she sees fit or whatever her mood strikes. I get the same breakfast nearly twice a week for almost 3 years(I’ve lived around the corner ten), had she informed me that prices have gone up, I would not be writing this review. I buy 2 pieces of fried cheese and 2 pieces of salami each time. SHE told me since she took that morning position that it’s 50 cents per piece. Hector the cook said this to the other woman who worked the mornings before her as well. So why am I being charged 50 cents more all of a sudden for the same breakfast that hasn’t changed and not notified that the price went up BEFORE she serves me? I’m a regular I know how much it is. So when I ask why it’s gone up don’t be rude and tell me that you told me before. You didn’t. And you’ve done this three times too many on separate occasions. Either keep the price the same for all customers at all times or don’t serve. It’s against the law to charge beyond set prices. They’re lucky to get 1 star and it’s because hector knows how to cook. I would gladly give 5 stars when the service improves.

Actually it’s more like a 3.424 lol Whenever I’m in the Bushwick/Ridgewood area I stop here for their 6 dollar lunch special. The food can be a little dry at times but they get it right more than not. Side note I came here around 12:30am when I got stuck in Bushwick during a Blizzard to grab a drink. The roads were covered in snow but to my surprise 150 people showed up around 1am. We literally ended up dancing tipico and bachata all night. 4 stars for that! 3 for the food

Really good Dominican food and a nice staff. Love my sancocho and tamarindo juice from here. At night it turns into a nightclub. My Sunday morning mangu spot.

This review is more like a 3.5 but i will round up since they are friendly. They serve your typical Dominican/Latin lunch and dinner food, but they prepare it very well and good quality. I’ve never actually dined in, I always pick up some dinner or order delivery when I don’t feel like cooking the same type of food myself lol(since I am Dominican); so I can’t speak for dine in experience. They also cater which came in handy for a baby shower I was hosting. Everyone raved about the food, especially the pernil. My aunt is like the queen of pernil and even she enjoyed it, so I think that says a lot. I don’t particularly like there potato salad, a bit flavorless and the potatoes and carrots are cut up in bigger chunks then i prefer. This isn’t a place i would go completely out of my way to try out, but its a great spot to have in the neighborhood for the home cooked Dominican meals when you don’t actually want to cook :)
