This place is comically SUBPAR. I’m convinced it’s near impossible to find a good place/vibe near Penn Station. I’ve been here twice on the insistence of friends who wanted to find a cheap and quick place for a drink — and I’m fairly sure I will not be returning(please no) Food was awful, servers were weird, bathrooms are in terrible condition — The most comical experience was when they left the upstairs«rooftop» patio part open in freezing weather and the wind starting smashing glasses and dropping food everywhere. It was just plain awkward because none of the staff even noticed… I added an additional star because I thought the drinks were at the very least decent(i.e., not watered down, not too expensive)

The venue is very big, waitress were very nice! Had a burrito it was O. K, chicken was good, everything else was bland. For the price I expected something waaaaaay better.

I came here last night with my boyfriend; Friday night around 10:30pm. We were walking down 34th street looking for a place to eat. We passed by Lucy’s and both agreed to give it a try, not knowing anything about this place. We were greeted by a security guard(I think?) who checked our ID’s and told us we can sit anywhere. We picked a booth by the windows, everything else was taken. Right off the bat, we both liked the vibe of this place. Not sure if they had a DJ or had a playlist, but they had very good songs. It was loud, at some moments, when we tried to call over a waitress/waiter, they could not hear us because of the music. Yesterday there were only two waitresses working, so it was a bit hard trying to locate one of them when we needed them. However, they were very nice, attentive, and came back with our drinks in less than 3 mins, when ordered. The food was awesome!!! I was really happy that we waited no less than 10 mins for our food, Fast service! I I give the food 5 stars, well at least the delicious steak tacos that I ordered($ 10). My boyfriend ordered 3 hard shell ground beef tacos which were good too and had a very mild spicy taste($ 12). We ordered a side a fries which was $ 4 and wow they gave us a huge serving, the fries were hot a fresh. We didn’t notice that when you order fries, it comes with chipotle ketchup– not regular ketchup, i didn’t taste the spice until my boyfriend pointed it out(who hates spicy food), so we asked to get regular ketchup and they changed it with no problem. We also had chips and guac while we waiting for our tacos. The waitress gave us the option between salsa or guac with our chips. I was a bit disappointed with the margaritas. I ordered a frozen mango margarita which tasted like a mango smoothie instead. I didn’t taste any alcohol. My boyfriend had a strawberry margarita and his was a bit stronger than mine. I ended up ordering a shot of tequila to mix it with my drink. We will definitely go back, especially in the summer since they have rooftop seating.

Average place, nothing crazy about it. I would have recommended this place for co-workers get together but honestly the alcohol they put in the drinks is not enough to ease the pain of a long work week. I ordered a margarita and it tasted more like lemon than anything else. I had chicken fingers and they were just okay. There are better places around this area for sure. You can try it if you want to though’ Unilocal ain’t the boss of you.

Bar service a lucys was terrible. It wasn’t busy and they completely messed up our not expansive order. 6 Coronas and gave us 2 Coronas and 4 bud lights. Service was also extremely slow. The view is the only reason this place gets 2 stars.

Alright the food was OK. The margarita drink was 11.00 bucks and I was defiantly tipsy(I’m a lite weight), but it wasn’t worth 11bucks. My friends got a pitcher of sangria(42.00) but very lite in alcohol, come on guys. The atmosphere upstairs(always crowded) was the best part. The bathrooms were Sooo gross. Oh yeah and I tried to order at the bar because I got to the venue later then by friends and she wanted me to wait an additional 10(after the ten) to get drinks? Absolutely not!!! I gave her my card and cashed out, don’t play with me lady! I’ll… Urghhhh :/long evening let’s say. We left and went to my Irish bar down the way. It was cool to do it, but I won’t be back.

Lucy’s and I are best buddies! There was a time when I had the unfortunate luck of working at Macy’s at Herald Square and during my darkest hour in retail hell, I found Lucy’s. I thought the décor was cute, the little dresses worn by the waitresses and bartenders even cuter, and the drinks were tasty. I’ve been going to Lucy’s for years now, and my drinks have never ever been poor. And I’ve seen a multitude of bartenders. Some weren’t as friendly as others(I’m a sucker for personable bartenders), but the drinks were never disappointing. The food is truly nothing to speak about, though very recently it’s gotten a little better. Its really there to help your alcohol consumption. I do suggest the Xanga, its a fried tortilla filled with cheesecake and it is good stuff. Food and drinks aside, there’s a myriad characters who come in given the location(I’ve had plenty of conversations, free drinks, invites to events, so on), the music is varied and fun, and again, the bartenders are cool ladies. Always talk to Grace, she makes the BEST drinks. ;)

I came here last night with a friend. They have a patio, a rooftop deck and an inside section. It was cold, so we stayed inside. Our waitress was great — very friendly and helpful. She got us water right away. Our drinks and food came out quickly, also. My friend and I both ordered the frozen lime margarita. I was hesitant at first because usually frozen drinks are very watered down. However, this was a fantastic margarita! It was $ 7& came in a decent sized glass. For our food, we both ordered chicken quesadillas. It was a decent portion & came with sour cream and salsa. It looked yummy. However, when I picked a piece up, all of the chicken fell out! The cheese wasn’t melty or gooey — it was hard and did not hold the chicken inside. Also, the chicken was a darker meat. I took 2 stars away because making a good quesadilla is very easy & it was a fail. The bill came to $ 20 each. For me, this is overpriced because of the subpar quesadilla. Overall, I would come back. The drinks & the atmosphere are good.

I had been wanting to check this place out & finally made it here this past week came in after work. We walked in & headed to the bar lucky enough to find seats since the place was crowded. Good happy hour times 4 – 7 ok specials they seem to have something going on every day of the week. With the specials Not a lot of choices for happy hour w the beer only two if I recalled, I decided to go with Coors Light my friend went with a Jack & diet not part of the specials. Not my first choice in Beer but for $ 4 dollars figured what the heck … Beer was good nice & cold Jack & diet was good as well. As for the place not bad decent size set tables below small bar area. They have a nice roof top area can get very crowded. Over all this place wasn’t too bad for happy hour service at the bar was good, lively atmosphere, good music playing & good prices I wouldn’t mind coming back from time to time.

The great thing about Lucy’s is the location. Positioned in the middle of the busy shopping area, near Herald Square. The open top floor is pleasant on warm days too. Also the place is pretty clean as well as the bathrooms. Besides the location, Lucy’s is just a sub par bar with nothing but mediocre food and overpriced drinks with a drop of alcohol. Flavor was lacking from all of the dishes ordered and the sangria pitcher was 70% ice. And I’m not sure why the women are dressed in tacky cowgirl boots outfits. I know I’m not the target audience but there are better scantily clad outfits to choose from! This is the type of place that turns people off to Manhattan. I cannot recommend this place at all and you’re not missing anything special here.

I was seeing a movie at the nearby AMC theater so my girlfriend and I stopped in for a bite. It was mostly empty when we came in, so I got a pretty good look at the place. The center of the restaurant was mostly standing tables and the bar was in the back. Upstairs is an open dining/bar area that gives you a nice view of the area as you enjoy your food. The décor is fun, with cute signs showing the names of drinks. The kitchen is off to the side and you can see it pretty clearly from almost anywhere in the place. The hostess seated us quickly at one of the booths by the window. Our waitress came over and she seemed very much«over it». It wasn’t even 3PM in the afternoon yet but it looked like she had just pulled a 12 hour shift. We were given our menus and we asked for drinks. She came over, we ordered and off she went. Soon, our food came and there were immediate issues. I had ordered a chicken burrito — yet mysteriously wound up with a chorizo burrito. My girlfriend ordered a Ranchero Salad which is supposed to include black beans — but there were none to be found. Now, I decided to eat the burrito and be happy since it was about the same price and size. However, my girlfriend was clearly missing something in the salad. When we brought this to the waitress’ attention, instead of an apology she quizzed her over whether there«really» weren’t any black beans. After mixing the salad a few times for her she seemed satisfied we weren’t lying or something and went to get a small container of black beans. Shortly after that our waitress disappeared. I needed refills and had to ask one of the bus boys to ask for it(our waitress reappeared at that point). What struck me is that not once did she smile or sound glad to have customers. It was as if the entire meal and affair was a horrible chore for her. I was tempted to give this place one star, but I have to confess the burrito was good and the food came out quick. I do not however think I’ll be going back any time soon.

Nice place but terrible service. Happy hour starts at 4pm with no options of anything good. The upstairs is the place to be where you can enjoy the sun, music and view of 34st

It’s a little confusing when I arrived here. They check your ID’s when you first walk in, and the«bouncer» took it upon himself to tell me to throw away my water bottle that was completely full. k. thanks for throwing out my things bruh. good looks. My friends and I walk upstairs(how does seating even work at this place??) We were so confused, is there someone to seat us? Do we just take any open seats?(thats what we did) First table we saw free, we just sat down. It took a GOOD chunk of time to pass before any waitress came to our table to take our order. The wings and nachos were good. Over all it’s a decent place to get drinks and some food with friends. They need to improve on service though.

The type of place my friend and I wished we just saved some time/money and gone to Chipotles for some guaranteed good food :/ We ordered some chips & guac which we were hoping would come out first(its an appetizer, do we have to specify?) because we were starving. Unfortunately they came wayy later with the rest of our food as we waited for our waters to be filled. I ordered the vegetarian burrito which came with standard rice, beans, sour cream, lettuce/tomato/onion, and guac. It was fine, just needed way more flavor. Both the salsa & guac were kinda weird tasting. My friends were also underwhelmed by their food items. Entrees were $ 10 – 15. The only thing going for them is their rooftop which was spectacular for a sunny summer Sunday sitting sipping with my sisters [that’s all I can thing of for my alliteration lol]

Here comes a swedish review for all my fellow swedish tourists in New York! Garanterat!

For the past two months or so I keep finding myself within a few blocks of 34th street. It’s not a choice, it’s always for one thing or another, and tonight I was meeting an old friend who works right on top of Penn Station. And I hated being there the moment I got out of the subway. My first words to her were, «So…you know a place where we can have a beer, right?» Lucy’s, my namesake. I left it up to her, thankfully didn’t Unilocal it before I went in. Here’s the thing, it’s not that bad. Lower your expectations and you won’t be disappointed. The guacamole was solid. It comes with pico de gallo on top, and while it won’t blow you away it gets the job done. The chipotle chorizo tacos are also serviceable. I’d never come here FOR the food, but if I was getting drinks I know I could order something. The staff was nice, attentive, though getting a drink can be on the slower side, especially right after 5. The communal tables with the high backless stools get old fast, but it’s not unbearable. Bathrooms are plentiful, spacious, and clean. Frozen margaritas were fine, Stella and Shocktop on tap kept me happy. Also, they were playing amazing music, at least on a Tuesday. I heard Queen, Aerosmith, The Beatles, Alice in Chains(seriously), and STP. They did sprinkle in some newer stuff(I remember Imagine Dragons), but whoever was picking the music did a really great job of mixing it up. Also, this dude totally flashed us his nipple, claiming it gets hard when he does tequila shots(I included a photo). If that doesn’t endear you to this place just a bit, I don’t know what will ;)

With the first hint of spring in the air, fellow New Yorkers are reminded of one of our great pleasures: having drinks outdoors as the city speeds by. Lucy’s doesn’t have the city’s best view, but it’s a colorful and festive spot in an otherwise hectic and drab midtown West(near Penn Station/MSG but with a view of the Empire State building). My work colleagues snagged a table early, and we shared pitchers of margaritas(the blood orange was pretty and tartly sweet) and some small bites(the chips and guacamole were quite good and the chicken quesadillas were loaded with cheese and pollo). The view was fun, being perched up from the neighborhood. Our server took a long time getting to us and messed up the order a bit, but we rolled with it. And there were heating lamps as the sun went down that kept us nice and toasty.
