Beyond amazing experience. I walked in looking to kill time and buy some hand lotion. I left extremely happy so much so I returned two more times the same day. From the mimosas to experiencing«pillow hands» and the overall warm and amazing service. The products are quality and great and I’m excited about the new products I was introduced to and look forward to trying new ones. I look forward to my upcoming facial appointment.

The sales associate was very knowledgeable and courteous. I felt like she really understood the products and wanted to be sure I bought the ones that were right for me, not the most expensive ones. I loved the complimentary mini-facial. And who doesn’t like shopping with a glass of champagne in hand?

I typically don’t review stores part of major chains, but I felt the need to with this particular store. I have had lovely experiences at other L’Occitane locations, but this was just such an uncomfortable shopping experience. I walked into the store to browse for a gift. I wasn’t exactly sure what to buy, and the saleslady approached me to help me out(don’t remember her name). When I explained to her I was interested in purchasing a gift, she was rather helpful, albeit somewhat condescending in tone. However, as a I continued to ask about different options, I offhandedly stated, «Yeah, I’m just really not sure what to buy and I want to get a better idea.» This was my way of asking for more options(she’s the expert, right?). Instead, she automatically responded with, «Oh, so you’re NOT looking to buy anything today.» Sheesh, I didn’t know how to respond. Of course I was interested in purchasing something! But I really didn’t know what to get! I was there to try out different scents and see if anything gift sets caught my eye. I was left awkwardly defending myself with, «Uh, yes I am???» At this point, she started walking away from me. Other people walked in to browse as well, but they told her upfront, so there was no weird passive aggressiveness from her. I understand you’re there to sell me stuff and that answering my questions is a waste of your time if I’m «just browsing» but courteous customer service will obviously help me make up my mind and buy something! If not at that moment, then definitely at a later date. Suffice it to say, I will not be back. I’d rather buy online than deal with the salespeople here. Thank you for the worst shopping experience ever.

Stopped by this store to check out what they had available for gift sets. Salesperson was horrible; I picked a set with a hand cream and lip balm but told her the sample lip balm smelled like plastic and asked what other sets there were with a hand cream. She showed me a set that was more than double the price and out of my budget. Regarding the plastic smell, she proceeded to tell me that in her experience they are fine and maybe the sample I picked up was old hence the smell. The sample I smelled was at that store a minute prior to talking to her — not comforting! I continued to browse the store on my own and found other sets which contained a hand cream within my budget(under $ 25). Upon checkout, she rang me up hastily(mind you the store was not busy at all) and failed to tell me about a special offer of a different gift set for $ 20 if you spent over a certain amount, while the other cashier was telling another customer about it. I spent over $ 60 so I definitely qualified for it. I would have bought a few of these special offer sets but decided to take the remainder of my business across the street to Sephora. Not going near this store again.

I walked in just to smell the rose hand cream. Sandra(salesperson) showed me several other products of increasing price, and then she waited like I was OBLIGED to purchase. I did in fact purchase a gift set on sale for $ 20, but she forgot to tell me THEREISNOEXCHANGEORREFUNDONSALEITEMS. Now imagine the argument I had 2 days later at a different location when I tried to return that gift set! The manager Chris tried to have me escorted out of the store just for asking for his name!

I love the products. The service at this particular store is horrible. The salesman was young and seemed more interested in getting back to roaming around the store alone than helping. I felt like he was trying to get me out of there as soon as he could. I gave him his wish and left without purchasing anything. Go to another outpost for their products. I’ve been to stores in LA, Philly, and even airports and always had better service.

I popped into this UWS L’Occitane with my favorite Washingtonian and platonic life partner in tow. I was in search of the shea butter, hoping it might make winter a little easier on my skin. We three were immediately sized up by an aggressive salesperson. I told her what I was looking for and right away she began rubbing stuff on me and the boys. When I walked away with just a tiny $ 8 tin she tried her damnedest to upsell me. And after that didn’t work she turned to my companions. Surely they needed something? Actually, no. To be fair, we were there a couple days before Christmas. And I’m sure her compensation’s tied to sales but the hustle was a bit much.

Expensive but lovely soaps, perfumes, etc., from Provence. Lavender, verbena, etc. Various locations around town.
