Came here for work, food was great. I have to say their pear sorbet tasted like a real frozen Asian pear and their chocolate mint ice cream was divine. You can really taste the freshness of the mint. Amazing. Got to bring Dianna Rollins here soon. They definitely spent some money on the space. The wine cork ceiling in the private room was unique and quite charming.

Came for brunch with reservations. Got sat immediately and they even have a high chair if you want to bring a kiddo. Place was packed. To start we got the sheep milk with honey to share. It was very good but nothing mind blowing. My eggplant sandwich was okay as well… also nothing that makes me want to go back to this place. What did impress me was their fruit cup. It was a huge serving of seasonal fruit and everything in it was fresh! Berries galore! Don’t go out of your way to dine here but good option if you are in the neighborhood.

Excellent place! We came here for a holiday party and reserved the back room for a big group. Before we all sat down for dinner, the waiter walked around with hors d’oeuvres, including my favorite truffle cheese balls(they may not call that on the menu), bartender also made excellent french 75 which was great. In terms of entrees, they were all pretty good, heavy but filling. Overall very good experience!

This place is so average, to the bones! But since it is very special to me(I have precious memories connected with this place) I keep coming and coming back. Too bad they are making it to so hard with the reservation process.

Definitely recommend the Sheep’s Milk Ricatta and Brussell Sprouts. It was yummy, rich and they gave very generous portions — so the 2nd serving(aka leftovers) were just as good as the first! All the photos that other Unilocaler’s posted are very accurate representations. I really appreciate the interior because it feels cozy and clean and spacious at the same time. It’s not too dark or light, not too formal nor informal. I saw people on business lunches, a family of six seated around a round table, a lone diner at the bar reading a real book(not a kindle) and lots of couples and threesomes scattered throughout. Nice dining experience.

Love the busy hustle and bustle of the restaurant, but wish I came here for dinner instead of brunch. I wasn’t too impressed with some of their offerings, like the scampi and grits – shrimp could be more charred and grits could have more flavor. Some of the other egg dishes were fine but not particularly noteworthy. I will come back though, to try the pasta.

Locanda Verde was a restaurant I was drooling over all the way from the East Coast for quite some time. Evidently, a day after my flight to NY, I was impatiently waiting for my reservation time to near to try this place. Was it delicious… yes. Did it blow my mind… no. Upon arrival, we were greeted(rather bluntly) and taken to a table with good visibility to the open kitchen. Open kitchens intrigue me because I like to feel the energy and see the magic happen. Our waitress, unlike the hostess, was very friendly and gave plenty of suggestions from the menu. Our arrival time was 10:45PM and the kitchen closed at 11:00PM. Nevertheless, we were able to order from the dinner menu. Our order included: the sheep’s milk ricotta, the lamb meatball sliders, paccheri, and a side of brussels sprouts. Sheep’s milk ricotta: I was a little sad that I couldn’t order the ricotta that’s served with truffle honey and orange toast(only on the breakfast menu). The ricotta was served with sea salt and herbs with a side of crostini. The ricotta was smooth and creamy and the toast was crispy. I was wanting a bit of sweetness or flavor contrast from the ricotta; but otherwise, the dish was fulfilling. Lamb meatball sliders: they are served in a pair; two little sliders for six dollars each. Though they are on the pricey side, they had an enormous amount of flavor. The lamb was tender and the sauce was a compliment to the meat. It was served on a soft bun with caprino and cucumber. I just wish there were more! Paccheri: the pasta was served with pork belly, ragu, and provolone picante. The pasta was a bit al dente and firm to the bite. I enjoyed the pork belly and ragu in the dish as well as the gooey cheese. The portion was a bit small and left me wanting more. Though I enjoyed all the ingredients and flavor combinations in the dish, I was left yearning something more in terms of flavor. Brussels sprouts: I really enjoyed this side dish as it was filled with tons of flavor and textures. The brussels sprouts were charred to perfection and popped in my mouth with an explosion of flavors. They are served with thick crisp pieces of pancetta, pecorino and breadcrumbs. The thick pancetta was so tasty combined with the sharp and salty pecorino. Prior to the meal we were served a complimentary olive and herb bread. It was okay and was lacking a bit of flavor; but was a nice touch before the meal. The service was great as soon as we sat down, but the ladies in the front seemed annoyed to have guests at a later hour. Our waitress was friendly and checked in with us periodically. The ambiance was nice; dim lights and a trendy vibe. Be prepared to sit close to the parties next to you! Overall, Locanda Verde was a nice restaurant for dinner, I would like to be back to try the breakfast menu soon.

Falls below expectations for a $ 100 brunch for two. We shared the steak tartare, that was probably the highlight of the meal. Then the tripe. The pieces of tripe were inconsistent, either too chewy and undercooked, overcooked to mush, and the rare piece that was actually good. The sauce was good though, so it had potential. The bucatini was very clearly undercooked, and the shrimp was on the tough side and was extremely salty, which is fine if that’s how the shrimp naturally is. We had to send the dish back because the pasta was inedible. The manager was nice about it but we had to wait an extra 20 minutes for them to prepare a new plate and I was done with my dish before the new bucatini came out. Not the best cutomer service there since one of us had to sit watching the other eat for pretty much the whole meal. The tables are also very close together and I literally knocked elbows with the lady at the table next to us.

I have good memories here as it was where I had my first Valentines with my boyfriend. That was almost three years ago so cannot opine on the food then but having just come here with my co-workers, glad to say I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We started off with a nice bottle of red wine and some appetizers. We got the infamous Sheep’s Milk Ricotta that was both filling and delicious. The bread was nice and crisp on the outside but still retained that good moisture upon biting it. The ricotta reminded me of goat cheese texture, so easily spreadable on the toasted bread. The taste was milky and creamy with a nice subtle accent from the sea salt and olive oil. A great start to the meal. We also got the special appetizer of the day, arancini with truffles. It was so delicious. That needs to be added to the permanent menu! You really can’t go wrong with fried rice balls. The outside was so crispy, the inside was hot with perfectly cooked rice. The truffle was a great accent to the rice balls. Superb. As for my main meal, I got the Linguini Neri, squid ink pasta, with soft, well-cooked octopus. The dish was very seafoody, in a good way. The linguini was al dente, chewy to the bite. There was plenty of octopus in the dish and it all complemented each other well. I think my only critique of the pasta dish is that it needed more of a sauce. It felt kind of dry towards the end. My friend got the Lumache and she felt the same way with her pasta dish. Otherwise, it was a very good meal. The service was so nice and the restaurant itself is beautiful and big. Definitely worth a trip to Tribeca for a yummy Italian meal.

I was wildly impressed with Locanda Verde at a recent birthday dinner. We enjoyed one of the best meals I’ve eaten in New York to date, and had a cheerful, dedicated server who pulled out all of the stops to make my sister’s night as special as possible. Every dish was a homerun but one, and we begin our night with two crostinis: sheep’s milk ricotta and blue crab. The ricotta was creamy and smooth, and came with a few pieces of bread which make it the dish to order if sharing with several others. The blue crab was fresh and complimented by heat from thinly-sliced jalapenos, though it’s a tough dish to share as the crab comes lumped onto two toasted crostinis. We also tried the lamb sliders, which, although small(and only two per order), were also phenomenal and highly recommended. We were in the mood for pasta(and a lot of it), so instead of secondis on this night we decided to order a pasta each as well as a dish to for the table to share from the Trufflepalooza menu. The truffle dish we selected was the uovo ravioli, which is certainly very expensive for a pasta at $ 60, but definitely worthwhile after you’ve devoured the ravioli as well as the 3 grams of white truffles shaved on top(picture below). When pressed by a fork, the ravioli oozes egg yolk which adds another rich layer to the taste. I loved that our waiter brought over extra broad for us to sop up the truffles and egg, which is exactly what I hoped to do. In some formal restaurants I might feel uncomfortable wiping my plate clean with a piece of bread, but Locanda Verde feels oddly comfortable for having such an elegant interior and high-end food; there’s no pretentiousness, either. We also tasted the«My Grandmother’s Ravioli» and the paccheri(we like ravioli, clearly). This version was one of the best meat raviolis I’ve had, and is one of the plates featured prominently as the background of the Locanda Verde website. It’s filled with short rib and pork and served in a tomato-based sauce with a healthy dose of parmesan; each bite is balanced and delicious. We also enjoyed the paccheri, though in my eyes it wasn’t as good as the ravioil. The desserts performed as well as the rest, with the exception of one, and rounded out the meal beautifully. The nutty, toasted hazelnut torta reminded me of milk chocolate Godiva with hazelnuts, except with far more texture, depth, and a great chocolate gelato. I found myself scooping some of the gelato onto the torta, then dipping the torta into all of the other components on the plate for an awesome combination. The caramel robiola cheesecake was delicate full of flavor, and I was completely taken with the infusion of apple flavors throughout the dish. The granita was light and refreshing, the sorbet was velvety, and the crunch from the pine nuts worked wonderfully. The only mildly disappointing dish was, surprisingly, the signature«La Fantasia di Cassata.» It was by no means bad, but we felt it was a little bland relative to the other options. However, the dish was brought to us as a complimentary dish along with a candle for the birthday girl, a gesture which did not go unnoticed. Finally, as if we hadn’t eaten enough, a petit four described as «Locanda Verde’s take on Rice Krispies treats» was brought to the table. The focus was on pumpkin see flavor, and I liked that it wasn’t very sweet given how decadent the rest of the meal had been. It was a lighter, yet still flavorful way to end the meal. Locanda Verde, if it consistently replicates the experience I recently had, is a restaurant worth visiting and returning to over and over again.

I just don’t get the hype here. While all the food is good, the variety on the menu doesn’t run deep and prices are steep. Tables are close together so if you love sitting on top of one another and strangers you’ll fit right in. I’ve had good meals but I don’t leave completely raving about it.

Overall: good food, next to boutique hotel, and nice ambience to have lunch in a quiet neighborhood Things I liked: — Had eggplant sandwich and lemon crostata: liked the healthy sandwich, something that I usually not get so I quite liked it when I found the taste clean and flavorful. — Restaurant design and neighborhood: a place where if you ordered good food, you would think«hmm maybe I should bring my mom here next time» Things I thought were«meh»: — Lemon crostata: too much lemon placed as a bunch inside. it was out of balance and ended up taking them out — Service: had hard time getting the servers’ attention after being seated at our table

Adjacent to The Greenwich Hotel where many of the celebs stays– the day we went for lunch, there were a lot of paparazzi outside waiting for Jennifer Lawrence. It’s a beautiful restaurant, with a pastry bar, a full bar, and gorgeous décor. Our server, not so much. She didn’t check on us, we had to ask for everything which was kinda off the ambience they try to create. I love the drink– Italian Spritz(I think? It’s a drink with gin — great for gin lovers like me). Food was prompt– I had the sausage sandwich, also tasted my friend’s eggplant sandwich, and the seafood pasta(which was quiet a small portion). They are good but not amazing. I’m always excited for the dessert, but when I have to wait 10min and ask for a bus boy for the menu, my passion was dead. They have a variety of gelato– the condensed milk gelato(affogato) was a little too sweet for me, and the latte gelato tasted exactly like vanilla– not sure if they gave me the wrong one but never had a chance to ask because the server never came to us… Overall the price wasn’t bad $ 40+ no appetizer, but again in New York City and the TriBeCa neighborhood, there are 100 other restaurants to choose from, I wouldn’t go back.

Food and service were good! I tried the Sheep’s Milk Ricotta with toast as an appetizer and the ricotta cheese was very rich and creamy. The toast was crispy and was a good texture change to the ricotta cheese. I tried the spaghetti with tomatoes, calamari and shrimp and it was very salty for me. I didn’t finish half of the pasta simply because it was too much for me. The gelato/sorbet was a hit or miss. The mint and cinnamon-apple were very icy and had chunks in them, whereas the pear sorbet was smooth and flavorful. The service was good, a little pushy with clearing my table, but it was very detail-oriented.

Locanda Verde is pricey, for sure, but the food is actually really good. I was skeptical after seeing pictures of a $ 19 waffle(pretentious much?) but I loved what my table ordered. The sheep’s milk ricotta on burnt orange toast is a must order, and you can ask for extra toast. I’m really happy I chose the bucatini as an entrée because it was light and simple but packed with flavor. I was curious about the lemon ricotta pancakes but was afraid it would be overly sweet. It’s an elegant and spacious spot in Tribeca, and a good place to impress out-of-towners.

Locanda Verde is still a great restaurant serving excellent food. I’ve been here several times over the past few years and have never been disappointed. I’ve never been able to make it here for«Trufflepalooza» in the past because they used to offer it as a one night only or weekly celebration of white truffles. Now it’s a month long. Although they’re very good, I didn’t waste time or stomach space on ordering the usual Meatball sliders and ricotta crostini. I went straight for the pasta. I ordered the Lasagnette Verde and the Uovo Raviolo from the special limited time only menu. While they were both delicious, the Lasagnette Verde was outstanding. I highly suggest that you run down here to try it. The pasta was perfectly prepared and had a great white veal Bolognese sauce. This is a must-order. The raviolo was rich and was served with about 2 ounces of shaved white truffles on top. Most places will bring out the mushroom and shave it table-side. They chose to do it in the kitchen. I also ordered the Duck Arrosto and a side of Brussels sprouts. The duck breast was slightly under cooked for medium rare and the confit was very salty. I never order Brussels sprouts when I’m out at restaurants because they’re usually terrible. I decided to place an order because A, I was at Locanda Verde and B, they were made with pancetta, breadcrumbs and Pecorino Romano. Everything tastes better with pancetta or bacon. They were so good! Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures of the food. The Lasagnette was very pretty to look at. I remembered to take one of the dessert lol The semifreddo was ok. Service was great as usual and I’ll definitely be back. Oh, and it’s very noisy inside.

KenScale: 8.5÷10 Locanda Verde has always been my go-to spot for soulful Italian food of chef Andrew Carmellini, but somehow I haven’t made it back in a while. I recently decided to make a trip to TriBeCa for Sunday brunch. While I’ve only been to this place for dinner, the brunch here is just as strong. For any starters, dinner or brunch, you can’t go wrong with sheep’s milk ricotta with truffle honey and burnt orange toast. It is pure delight with the cheese and honey working in beautiful harmony. Among various brunchy egg dishes, I went with uova Modenese consisting of egg, cotechino sausage hash and spinach that has hearty feel without overpowering seasoning. Pastas have always been a strong suit for chef Carmellini, and scampi ravioli with rock shrimp, calamari and toasted breadcrumbs delivered and tasted as good as it sounded. I could totally have this pasta any day, with excellent balance of flavor and texture. For dessert, lemon crostata with honey caramel, almonds and torrone gelato was a delightful end to a satisfying brunch. The restaurant was absolutely packed for brunch with long lines of people hoping to walk in, so the idea here is make a reservation in advance(even though brunch reservation is definitely easier than dinner). I’m glad that Locanda Verde delivered for brunch as well. If not for having the make the trip all the way to TriBeCa, I probably would’ve come here more often.

Boyfriend and I came here last weekend after he came with a friend last month and really enjoyed it. We made dinner reservations for 6pm on a Saturday and when we arrived it was packed, loud and lively. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. We ended up order a few dishes to share. We started with the steak tartar which was excellent and shared two entrees, the Paccheri and Halibut. I loved the flavoring and pulled pork of the Paccheri. The pasta itself was made al dente so it was a little on the firm side for me but still very delicious. The halibut was also very flavorful but wished it was a little more moist. To end the meal we ordered the Caramel Robiola Cheesecake. I was worried it be too heavy but it was very delicious and not too heavy at all! I really enjoyed all the sides to the dessert which really complimented each other such as the pine nut brittle and cinnamon apple sorbet. Very delicious and refreshing! I would love to come back here and try their brunch next time!

I had high expectations from this place. It was just OK for me. My husband and I came here for a late lunch to start the celebration of my birthday weekend. We were seated in a tiny, cramped corner. Initially romantic but later realized how cramped it was. On top of that wobbly chair and table didn’t really feel great. It’s the little things that impact the overall dining experience! We ordered a few items to share and received complimentary bread, which was straight out of the oven warm. Sheep’s milk ricotta — not sure what the hype is but it was just okay for me. I also dipped the complimentary bread with this — not too shabby. Lamb meatball sliders — recommended! This was delicious. Also had some ricotta in it. Very tender. Hella pricey for two little sliders. Spaghetto bolognese — unique, freshly made pasta with chunks of meat. Tasty, a bit salty but good. Just keep sipping that water. More ricotta in this dish. If I knew ricotta was in everything, I wouldn’t have ordered the sheep’s milk ricotta. And this is coming from a person who LOVES cheese. Overall, interesting experience and glad I tried it. I’ll come back to try brunch but no more lunch or dinner(since it seems the dinner menu is the same).

Phenomenal food… I had to write this review right away while the deliciousness was still fresh in my mind. Where to start, um, the bread is like pizza crust(a good pizza crust) and you can’t just have one slice, I dare you to only eat one slice! The crostini was delightful, the broccolini satisfying, the salad refreshing, but the star of the show was by far my main entrée — the halibut with heirloom squash, almonds and tomato vinaigrette… it was freakin’ fantastic — I don’t think I’ve ever had fish so good! It looked like a piece of art on the plate, so flaky and so tender and bang on what a fish dish should be — the acidity from the tomato vinaigrette made it sing! Bam! I inhaled that thing in two seconds. Not to be forgotten, the chocolate cake dessert with gelato was a lovely sweet ending to our meal. The view was fantastic — sitting outside and soaking up the warm summer night, we had a view of the downtown skyline on one side and the Hudson river on the other. Our cocktails were pleasing, our wine was good. One minor criticism is that the wine list(by the bottle) is super expensive and so are the cocktails — it would be good if they offered some $ 30 bottles. I don’t mind the expense for the food because it was well worth it. Our server was attentive and aimed to please. There is nothing more I can say other than that I can’t wait to come back here.
