Liz Murray Studio

Here’s how I found Liz: after a year of looking for the right idea, I spotted another shopper in Bloomingdale’s or someplace with the perfect haircut (it is related to the Vidal Sassoon thing but not identical to it), and asked if she’d tell me where she got it. She was very nice — it turned out she was European but still coming to NYC to get her hair cut when she could — and gave me Liz’s phone number and her own name, so I finally had a way of saying what I wanted.
That was may be 6 years ago, and I’ve been very happy with Liz’s salon ever since, and with Liz herself as well — she colors my hair for me now too. Besides liking my haircut, I also like going to her private Chelsea studio — it’s the real personal original New York that I’ve always liked and treasure more and more as it’s become somewhat harder to find.

I’ve been going to Liz for years!! I have extremely curly hair and some stylist really don’t know how to work with my type of hair, but Liz always gets it right. She asks you what you want and her color, highlights and cuts are always flattering and on point. When people ask «your hair looks great, where did you get your hair done?» I always say GO SEE LIZ! she is amazing!

I have been going to Liz for years — not only are her haircuts amazing, she is a terrific colorist. You never have to worry that too much or too little hair will be cut — she really listens to what you want. Life is too short to have bad hair!
