The absolute WORST service of ANY branch of Le Pain and that’s not an easy feat Go to anywhere else in The Park to eat unless you love terrible service It was not busy at all — my group was the only occupied table!

I gave this 5 stars because(1) the setting in Central Park is beautiful and(2) we had an outstanding waitress, Angelica. Food was good, too — typical of what you get at all Le Pains. Angelica was pleasant and efficient; the best service we have had in a long time anywhere. So, go, enjoy the park — and make sure you ask for Angelica! Otherwise, the rating would be 3.5.

I have never had such poor customer service. The counter service woman could not have been less enthused about working here. It is a shame such a beautiful space could not have been a more ugly experience. We were the 3rd customer of the day and it took precisely 17 minutes to get a berry shake.

I became a regular there, the food is terrific, the staff outstanding. Today it was Gamze who did the honors. She is sharp, lovely and engaging. That is two for two so far — Juliana and Gamze specifically. The whole staff is good, will possibly continue to update with brutal honesty if I end up doing more reviews

I’m a big fan of LPQ and have been to many through out the city. This location by far has the worst service. Today was my first and last visit. Everyone seemed in a bad mood and a bit surley. Very unfriendly. Our server Elias, was surley. He took our order right away but when we sat we had no silverware and napkins. We asked for water for the table. He never brought them. Our coffees and lattes come out and Elias doesn’t bring the settings or spoons for the coffee. I asked him for settings, spoons, sugar and the water. He seemed annoyed I asked and only brought spoons. We had to ask another server to bring the rest. When our food arrived we ask for bread but we wete told there was a charge for bread. All othe LPQ locations happily provide bread for the table. The only thing good about this location is the beautiful location in Central Park. If you like service with a attitude by all means this is the place. Unfortunately it seems like they don’t care to improve the service because of the location they’ll always have business

we got two items banana berry crunchola: it’s tiny, it’s more of like a side, I would recommend getting another small item with it or to get it as a dessert. avocado toast: wow, this was tasty. I wasn’t expecting it to be so good, but the citrus cumin salt makes it taste really good. I’d go back just for that. coffee pot is a personal pot. you drink it out of a bowl. the coffee is pretty good. It got a bit busy while we were there, had trouble getting the check and getting the card back. But, the avocado toast was so good, I’d go back.

Pain Quotidien is pretty standard. The menu doesn’t change from location to location, and I always thought quality didn’t vary too much either. However, in going to our local Pain Quotidian on Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, I noticed the food was not nearly as good as the one below my parents’ apartment in NYC. This one in NYC is always a solid quality. I’ve had a variety of items off the menu, and each is always quite good. My main order is the avocado toast tartine or the hummus tartine(if I’m lucky, I go with someone who will order whichever I don’t, and we’ll split each). The avocado toast is topped with shredded carrots, nuts, chia seeds and some oil. Pretty simply done but very tasty. The bread is nicely toasted. The hummus one has golden raisins, nuts, carrots and(I believe) harissa). Both are filling and have a good amount of flavor(the hummus one is actually quite spicy). Last time I tried the tofu quiche. Consistency was actually surprisingly good — it wasn’t trying to taste like eggs and instead mostly tasted of the veggies it was cooked with, not like a stark piece of tofu. Really tasty but not nearly as filling. My mom and I had to share a chocolate mousse after not being totally full. The mousse was fluffy yet airy and a deep chocolate, but the whipped cream on top was a bit sour, so we avoided that. My sister also loves their macaroons, and that they do have options for vegans, even for dessert! Service can be hit or miss, as this Pain Quotidian is always packed. If you get the right server, you can be in and out. If you don’t, you have to stay on top of them a bit, but food still generally comes quickly. Takeout is also ready very quickly. Prices aren’t cheap, but it is a filling sit-down meal(well, the quiche is particularly not that cheap, given it’s not too filling)! Very convenient for us in a pinch though.

Delightful and service was great. Had the chilli bean soup, coconut spice soup, chicken kale salad with quinoa and the chocolate mousse. I could have skippes the chicken on the salad and gone all vegan. Had a great time, very quaint for sure.

PLEASEREVIEWYOURBILLSCAREFULLYATTHISLOCATION! went to this location during holidays with my family from out of town. We had little kids with us as well. We loved the food and the service was good! But the whole experience was ruined after we got the check! We first found the discrepancy in the check, the item was added that we never ordered. And I thought OK maybe it was an honest mistake of the waitress. I rarely check the checks but the amount was close to $ 100 which was ridiculous. So the waitress removed the item from the check and we left. Something didn’t sit right with me so I checked the check again and noticed that we were charged $ 20 for 2 bowls of soup!!! So I realized the waitress saw we had little kids and it was kind of hectic so she overcharged us and put an additional item to the check deliberately! Please, people look at your checks at this location cause I might get overcharged like us! Btw the name of the waitress was — ONYINYEC!

A awesome place, incredible reference and a terrible client support. 45 minutes waiting for my simple smoked salmon. Yep, 45 minutes for a kind of sandwich. 10′ waiting for my sparkling water and all this time, the girl who are sitting by my side, in another table, still waiting for the menu …

I really like this location. The employees are nice, the space is laid out well. They work to make sure you have some space for your party when seated at the communal table. Good food. Cozy environment.

Fantastically delicious! We only went in to pick up lattes and pastries(fruit tarts and mousse cakes) to go but they were quick and the food/drinks were phenomenal! We actually went back a couple more times before we headed back home.

Poorly run Le Pain. Manager looks like a complete douchebag in overly tight shirt with hands in pockets constantly checking out women passing by rather than paying any attention at the customers. Waiters barely speak English, have to chase them around just to get coffee. From the looks of it every other table gets the wrong bill.

I like Le Pain Quotidien very much in general, and the setting for this one is beautiful. Unfortunately service is extremely slow at this one, in my experience, even when not busy, and they are prone to mis-charging. Bring patience and a sense of humor.

If you want a coffee it’s fine but if you want to have lunch you will have to fight just to know what is available on the menu. you are also welcome to clean yourself your table. In other words there is definitely room for improvement as this one doesn’t operate under the same standards of other pain quotidien shops

Extremely friendly and nice staff, superb food and just a top-of-the range location in the middle of Central Park. As long as you don’t mind the 50 dogs in front of the location, who wait for their nasty owners before they’re allowed to continue shitting the park. But thats not the fault of the café, so a 5* rating for this cozy place is good.

This is a good spot to get coffee if you’re in Central Park. We just got coffee at the café and didn’t eat at the restaurant, but it has ample outdoor seating to enjoy the ambiance of Central Park. I would imagine this would be a quintessential tourist spot.

Go for the view and the ambience; stay for the wait and wait and OK food. We were seated right away and waiting about 15 minutes to make a first order — then waited at least another 15 to get our drinks. Eventually(20 minutes after ordering), they told me my entrée wasn’t available so I changed it up. The new order came with a salad(which I did not know) — and I had already ordered a salad. But it didn’t dawn on our server to tell me so I was served two whole salads with my quiche. It was annoying but did not want to peep a word — because one I’m not the type to whine about stuff — but mostly because I knew any kind of fix would have extended our lunch another 30 minutes. I would suggest grab a coffee and snack to go and then enjoy the park in the park. This is just a headache waiting to happen.

«Please Wait To Be Seated.» And wait… and wait… and wait… until the two servers slow dancing around the half empty tables look at you for the fifth time, and you take your money, and you walk away. The stroll through the park was lovely, though.
