La Churro… Wir waren mehrfach im April 2015 dort. Freundliche Mitarbeiter, Produkte immer frisch zubereitet. Kleiner Laden mit wenigen Sitzplätzen. Aber es geht ja auch«to go»

Before my trip to NYC, I was Unilocaling like a mad women trying to compile a list of food spots I needed to try during my trip. I came across Le Churro during my search and really really wanted to try this place. Unfortunately I cut it from my list thinking I wouldn’t ever be in the neighborhood of Le Churro. I happened to get detoured at some point during my trip and found myself walking by… it was FATE! I ordered the chocolate chip stuffed churros… OMGGG. Delicious! I gobbled it down fast. If you are a cookie dough lover, there isn’t any better combo than this.

I stopped into Le Churro on a recent afternoon for a little treat. The store has wonderful natural light and a «churro recipe mural» on one wall. Very inviting. I ordered one regular cone of churros(4 pieces) with hazelnut dipping sauce — and vanilla milk.(Yes, I sometimes eat like my 5-year old nephew!) The churros came out fresh and piping hot, but the application of sugar and cinnamon seemed lackadaisical at best. While the churros were good, they didn’t impress. I doubt I’ll return because there are a lot of churro joints in this town to try.

There aren’t many places in Manhattan that sell churros so I was pretty excited to find this store in the Upper East Side. I’ve had them before in Corona(Queens) and had gotten pretty addicted to them, everything from the warm crispy dough to the powdery sugar that would often dust themselves over my coat. While this shop is very creative in serving their churros in different sizes and with a variety of dipping sauces, the churros themselves were lacking. Yes, they were made fresh and crispy. Yes, I ate them warm and on the spot. But it just didn’t taste the same as I remembered them. They’re also more expensive here($ 4 vs $ 1 – 2 in Queens).

OMGYUM. We ordered a sea salt hot chocolate, a Nutella hot chocolate, mini dulce de leche churros and mini Nutella churros(I like Nutella just a little bit, shut up). The churros were wonderful – ours came filled and dusted with powdered sugar. The sea salt hot chocolate is thick and rich – you have been warned. It was well made and absolutely delicious. The Nutella hot chocolate was also really great, but not as thick as the sea salt. If sweets aren’t your thing but you could be tempted to have hot chocolates, I recommend sharing a cup with someone – these cups are so rich in flavor that we couldn’t finish! This little place is cute. Three tables and a bar counter, so don’t bring your posse here. I do think it’s a little on the pricier side given the potion size, but it’s good enough that I’ll pay. I’m definitely coming back for a churro sundae in the summer!

This place is cute, and a cool idea … I’ve been to Spain a few times and had the real authentic churros, so I had pretty low expectations for this place. I think I was most shocked with the incredibly TINY churros. Portion size is good for a child, but maybe that is a good thing since churros and chocolate are not the healthiest thing. We ordered a cone of churros, which came with 4 very very thin churros and a small container of dipping sauce. You get to choose your flavor, we chose hazelnut to play it safe. It didn’t taste bad, the churros are made fresh, but it definitely did not taste very authentic. I feel like I’ve had better churros from Taco Bell. I think what they have going for them is the churros are hot, which is nice, and the chocolate sauce is good. But overall flavor and taste is … whatever. For the overall quality, quantity and price, I would not come back here again or recommend this place to others. Like I said, I like the idea of this place, I think it was just poorly executed and the staff was not friendly or helpful in any way.

Stopped by Le Churro on the way to the MET. Pros: * Very cute interior– they did a wonderful job on branding * Delicious lattes Cons: * I had high hopes for the churros, but when I took an excited bite into a nutella-filled churro, all I tasted was stale and cold fried dough. Ugh! So disappointed. Not returning!

Churro’s are one of my absolute favorite sweet treats. Can you believe I had my first one last year? At my favorite place in the whole world(Disney World, duh), nonetheless. My friend happened to be playing with the camera and caught me in action – . ANYWAY, I LOVECHURROS. I cannot believe how I’ve lived without them for so long. On that note. Le Churro totally disappointed! I stopped by last Tuesday before a Unilocal event. It’s a super small spot — there are just 3 small tables and some counter area by the windows but that’s it. I decided to try the dulce de leche filled churros, 3 mini ones for $ 4.25. SOEXPENSIVE but I needed them badly so I didn’t care. They were whipped up in a few minutes and packed in a small white box. So giddy with anticipation, I took my first bite and was so let down! I was expecting a crispy, sugary hot bite but the churro was a stale chewy consistency and the filling was lukewarm. These were definitely sitting for awhile. Boo. I am all for second chances but it was just so disappointing and I am not in this part of town often. Oh well. La Churreria is where it’s at! Cheaper, too.

Apparently, I’m late, but perhaps it was a blessing. I had no idea there was a churro bakery in the UES. I’m pretty sure, had I known, I would have ruined many diets prior to this one. Anyhow, I stumbled upon Le Churro on Cinco de Mayo and decided it was a sign that I had to have a churro. I got the Dulce de Leche Stuffed Churro. It was delicious. The dulce de leche reminded me of the Martinelli’s caramel apple dip. Very sweet and a nice weighty consistency. Initially, I was worried that this would be a new addiction, but luckily, the churros were not as great on my second visit. A bit too undercooked.

This place is so cute! It’s got adorable art on the wall along with some interesting info about churros, and shelves stocked with yummy sweets available for purchase. We were gonna hit dinner in a little bit, so we decided to stop by for a snack here. We got mini churros with a dip(milk caramel? I think) and 3 dulce de leche filled churros. YUMMY! They’re a bit similar, although the dulce de leche is a bit sweeter. But overall, they are crisp, sugary, hot, and fresh! There is literally one guy — taking orders, cashiering it up, and making the churros all by himself. We waited for our order a little bit, which was fine since we were in no rush, but I hope they have a better system for busier times. COOLSPOT! Not the best churros ever but you can definitely appreciate the variety of flavors and the fact that they are made to order.
