Had the spaghetti alla carbonara and it was inedible. It was extremely salty and the bacon was hard as a rock. Absolutely unacceptable. Doesn’t the chef taste the dish before it goes out?

Landmarc is one of those restaurants you want to love. It’s local, it started here before the chef became a big celeb, and it’s cozy and usually friendly. But here’s the problem: they never change the menu. The food is just NOTTHATGOOD. It’s fine. You won’t be sad if you eat here. But you won’t be especially excited either. Unless you’re not used to seeing boudin noir on a menu. In which case, welcome to New York, and please don’t forget to tip well.

I have been going to Landmarc for years now and booked it for my 40th Birthday party(around 35 people) and was beyond great! For a booking of this size I had some dread on the level of service and quality of food for such a large group and was blown away! Landmarc staff were beyond helpful and exceedingly pleasant to my guests(as well as my wife and I). The service was highly attentive. In addition the quality of the food was beyond what I expected. Yes we had foie gras and steaks(as well as some of the other Landmarc classics) and even for so many people was of very high quality. I would not hesitate to have a large event there again and worth also noting is that the staff for my event are also the regular restaurant staff and whenever I eat in the restaurant as a 2 or 4 we always receive this great level of service. The bar staff are also fun and are always willing to provide ideas for cocktails and engage in conversation if it is a quiet night! Only things to bear in mind is that while this was a terrific experience for my birthday if I was reviewing for a dinner for 2 or 4 people I would probably gone for a 4.5 stars as while I love this place, it is somewhat expensive which means my expectations are greater and cannot give it a 5 for a typical dinner… 4.5 for a typical dinner(so it’s still great!), but 5⁄5 for a big function(it really is as good as it gets!).

Beware this restaurant. I ordered the lasagna and a Caesar salad to be delivered to my office. Instead, they sent me the salmon. When I called to complain, the restaurant offered to refund the cost of the lasagna but only if I somehow returned the salmon to them — presumably so that they could serve it to someone else after it sat on my desk for half an hour. Don’t worry, I didn’t oblige. I’d rather eat the cost of the meal I didn’t get than ruin someone else’s night. Too bad I can’t say that much for Landmarc.

A few co-workers and myself went to the Landmarc on a Thursday night for dinner. We had reservations for table of 6. In the back(towards the bathroom) on the first level there is a bar for people to wait at while their tables are being prepared and there is also an upstairs for private events. Service & Atmosphere(5 stars): For a Thursday night, this place was very busy with groups. Many of the people who ate here were dressed in business casual(assuming they came after work) and sitting in tables of 6+. I love that the restaurant felt very cozy but still formal. Also, the bar was nicely placed in the back so the front doesn’t become too congested. Our waitress was wonderful and checked on us often to make sure our drinks were filled and to see if wanted to order anything else throughout our meal. Definitely no complaints! Food(I’ve definitely had better and teetering 3 stars): Appetizers: Goat Cheese Profiteroles($ 13): If there was one thing to get on the appetizer menu it would be these! I love goat cheese and these had a perfect ratio of cheese to puff pastry. Granted, 3 for $ 13 is pretty steep but the small salad in the middle was tossed in a nice vinaigrette which made the dish beautiful. Fried Calamari($ 15): The calamari was delicious, I LOVE calamari… but I wish the portion matched the price. I guess I eat this stuff so often in the East Village & Little Italy that I now just expect piping hot mounds of squid! Haha Foie Gras Terrine($ 22): I will never understand the hype of foie gras and my curiosity continues… I put it on the bread from the basket(maybe that was the problem because I didn’t put enough on). Anyways, my co-workers thought it was an okay dish but pricey. For anyone curious about the allure of foie gras this probably wouldn’t be the place to try it. Meal: Grilled Salmon($ 29): *Sigh* After having the wondering goat cheese profiteroles, I was looking forward to a nice meal. The salmon was unfortunately overcooked and sitting on a bed of semi hard black lentils. The salmon was a good portion(I couldn’t finish it), but had they not left it in the oven? pan? as long then it would have been better. Scallops($ 37): My co-worker who ordered the scallops said that she loved the dish– it was one of the best seafood dishes she’d had in a long time. They weren’t overly salty or rubbery. If you wanted to go for seafood I’d suggest the scallops over the salmon! 3 words. Skip. . Nutella Éclair($ 4): For a name like«nutella éclair» you would think it was an éclair with Nutella on top. Nope, it was an underwhelming single chocolate whip cream puff. Lemon Tart($ 4): I wish, I got a picture of this sad, sad tart. Put two fingers together and it was the size of the rectangular tart. It tasted good, but it was just… sad. Chocolate Mousse($ 4): Seeing how my co-worker go this dessert I immediately wished I got the mousse instead of the cream puff/éclair. It’s hard to mess up a rich and creamy mousse. Drinks: I really love how they have full bottles of wine or half bottles of wine. They are really adorable, but if you’re splitting between two or three people I would just go with the full bottle. I drank a half bottle to myself which is about 2 ½ glasses. Overall, would I come back? Probably not since the prices just didn’t match my expectations of the food.

DONT bring a date here at night. In case you can’t read the whole review. I’ve been to Landmarc several times before and really enjoyed myself. I went once for Brunch and another time for lunch. The atmosphere is really nice and up-scale with a good view of Columbus Circle. However…the children… Do not, and I repeat typing, DONOT go here for a nice dinner or date expecting to have a nice quite meal and conversation. Nothing about this restaurant made sense in the evening like it did during the day. It seemed to be having an identity crisis. Its like if Chuckie-Cheeses and Bennigan’s had a love-child that somehow made it out of the slums and put on a nice suit. *let me explain* The ambience is amazing and very lovely. The food AMAZINGly well prepared. The music was loud 80’s hits(which I love) but doesn’t match the atmosphere. I don’t want to listen to Footloose while I sit down to a $ 200+ meal. They sat toddlers strategically around the entire restaurant instead of herding them into one place like a lot of other restaurants do. The hosts are children themselves with no ability to speak to adults(millennial generation. not the restaurants fault) It was such a let down. I wont be eating for dinner here on a DATE. Ill come with family because again it is nice, but don’t bring a date here it is not impressive. He had never been and I was excited to share it with him, but it left me looking like I was the one with bad taste. Kind of embarrassing. Again the food was amazing and our server was great so we had a nice time… but this place could be such a wonderful romantic, sexy dinner spot if they just realized what they want it to be.

Great place to eat. I really like their lamb sandwich and hamburger. Landmarc is very kid friendly. I have not been for dinner but enjoy their lunch. Good spot to grab a bite to eat in TriBeCa.

I’ve been here a couple of times and have been obsessed with the french onion soup. I always say it’s the best in Tribeca! The last time I was here though it was quite oily and I didn’t get through a quarter of it. I’ve also always raved about their burgers. The flavor is great, but the way it’s cooked is pretty inconsistent. When I ask for medium rare, it comes out still mooing. When I ask for medium, it comes out extremely well done. The size of the patties have also been inconsistent. I’ve also had the Sunday lasagna special and the pork chop, both of which are SOGOOD. I’ll definitely return and look forward to trying the farro salad with season vegetables.

Small location, but nicely decorated and food was enjoyable. There was nothing particularly special about this meal, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. Three of us dining. Started with goat cheese profiteroles and fried calamari. The calamari was crispy and clearly fresh — really delicious. The goat cheese puffs were good, too, though we wondered if the order came with three puffs because there were three of us, or because that was the normal amount. If we were four, would four have arrived on the plate? Perhaps we made an assumption, but it felt kind of odd. I had the Sunday pasta special — lasagna with short ribs. Really nicely done, good sized portion. Could have maybe used more short rib, but overall it was delicious. Other two diners had a hamburger and the cod special. Both were enjoyed, though neither felt their dishes were ‘extraordinary.‘ All in, a good, solid meal. We had a nice, well-priced bottle of wine, as well.

I came here in the middle of the afternoon for a special event. To be honest, they were one of the few places that were open. It was basically empty inside, so we had the place to ourselves. We ordered champagne and a variety of foods: the lamb shank, shrimp salad, mussels, grilled chicken and a bunch of desserts. I like how Landmarc has a lot of dishes that come in two sizes. Most of ordered the smaller portions, perfect for a mid-afternoon meal. The lamb shank looked amazing, but I was more interested in blazing a path through the desserts. The desserts were all miniature-sized but were very good. I had the tiramisu, chocolate mousse, chocolate ice cream and mint chocolate ice cream cones. The service was ok. We started with one server and finished with another. It took a while to get drinks and I had to show the server on their own wine list where the champagnes were listed. Other than that, it was a good dining

Landmarc is a pretty well known name in NYC and so I was looking forward to my first time there, having brunch this past Sunday. It was a very mediocre experience and I wouldn’t go out of my way to ever go back. We were greeted by a hostess that might have been one of those most unfriendly I’ve ever met. She said the fewest words possible to us(not even a hello) before leading us to our table in the back of the ground level.(Though not her fault, this place is way to tight for the amount of tables they are squishing in. I felt bad for the wait staff trying to walk through tight and narrow spaces with trays of food. Can’t comment on the upstairs, though I imagine its the same.) We sat down and immediately heard the family sitting next to us(about 7 people) complaining to the waiter about how they had been there 1 hour and 15 minutes and still hadn’t received their food. Yikes, not what we wanted to hear upon our own seating. The waiter expressed that they were busy due to brunch — well, maybe you shouldn’t be squishing so many people in if your kitchen staff can’t handle the covers :) I felt bad — no manager ever came over to apologize until the food actually came or offer to comp any of the meal. They got a dessert platter — while that was a nice gesture, the meal should have been partially comped — desserts cost them next to nothing. I doubt that family would ever return, nor would I. I heard another large table in the back sighing over their long wait as well. Our service was perfectly adequate — attentive waiter and we got our drink/food orders without a long wait. The food was fine — nowhere worth the prices, but we ate it. While not the restaurants fault, I was also a bit turned off by a very large party in the front area. Lots of kids and so much garbage on the floor I felt like I was eating at a cheap diner. I’m not paying $ 18 for a sandwich at a nice establishment to stare at piles of food thrown all over the ground. Frankly, I blame that on the parents — but it’s not appetizing to eat that that environment. Based on the very unfriendly hostess, extremely tight seating, mediocre food/high prices, and noticeable experience many other parties were having with waits, I wouldn’t risk returning.

Great ambience! Had the nicoise salad and enjoyed how balanced the balsamic vinaigrette was! The French onion soup was good too. It was a tad sweeet and definitely extremely cheesy. Wish they would toast their bread just before serving it. Nevertheless, it was great with the very flavorful and herby olive oil that came with it!

Unfortunately, I can’t honestly say it’s as great as it once was. Monday night wine deals are no longer. I recently had the steak salad and the greens were so overdressed I only ate half of it.(The steak is still good though!) I haven’t seen the branzino that I used to rave about in quite some time, but they do switch up the fish. The mussels were a bit disappointing as well — definitely on the small side and we even asked before ordering if they were plump. Drinks are well-made and they still have a decent selection of half bottles of wine. Overall, it’s not bad, not great. I think there is some consistency lost in some of the dishes, but that can always be remedied.

Landmarc: famous for food, or because the chef is on Chopped? That was the question I asked as I went there for the first time(went to the Tribeca location, not Columbus Circle). Well, long story short, the food was really great. This landmark is on the smaller side, but the service is fantastic, the staff was very accomodating, and the overall feel is very cozy and intimate. A little too crowded at times, but overall very nice. The food was indeed very good. I decided to go with a steak, which was very well cooked, and came with a perfectly cooked side of fries. Small beer selection but obviously well curated; they were mostly local microbrews, the ones I had were great(capt. lawrence, brooklyn brewery). Also had a frisée aux lardons, which was great. nothing fancy, but everything was well executed, which, in a lot of ways, is better than something fancy. So, overall, I would very much recommend Landmarc. It is legit. Grade: A–(a bit crowded and not terribly inventive, but who needs to be inventive as long as you do your thing and do it well?).

Came here for a family dinner. Landmarc was easily able to accommodate our large group of 9, plus a baby. Though if you have a large party, a reservation is recommended. I was a bit skeptical at first, seeing as Landmarc serves French cuisine. But everything was delicious and I left very full. For appetizers, we shared the octopus salad, the bone marrow and the calamari. The octopus salad was my favorite, fresh, cold and soft. The bone marrow was a bit too decadent for my tastes, but perfect if you’re into bone marrow on toasted bread. The calarmai was pretty standard. I ordered the bone-in rib eye, cooked medium rare. It was perfect. Tender, juicy and flavorful on top of a bed of fries. My brother ordered the mussels with rosemary and bacon. It was a huge pot of mussels — and you can never go wrong with bacon. I would also highly recommend the daily pasta specials — even the baby enjoyed the spaghetti Bolognese! Would come back here again in a heartbeat!

Interior: 10⁄10 It’s romantic, dimly lit with candle light, and exposed brick is consistent throughout the restaurant. It’s interior is simple but gorgeous. It made for a great space to celebrate events such as graduation or an anniversary. Service: 8⁄10 Nothing amazing. They were necessarily attentive but they answered questions, responded to our needs, and etc. Food: 6.5÷10 For the price– it’s average. The food is of great quality but honestly nothing amazing. No bold flavors, nothing memorable, and too high of a price range. Our party wanted a more expensive restaurant to celebrate my boyfriends graduation but we wanted amazing food and landmarc didn’t meet that standard. In all honestly it’s average food with nice décor. It’s impressive in regards to its look overall and vibe but I wouldn’t return or recommend it to any person interested in eating outstanding food.

My party felt that the service was way too relaxed. Our main course came an hour and ten minutes after we arrived, the wine was latein ordering anddelivery… nothing else happened on time, either. For the cote de boeuf, yoiu are paying $ 95(for two) for its preparation; the amount of edible meat was about 18 ounces. Too much fat had to be removed. I hope that they were just having a bad night. I expected more from a Marc Murphy restaurant.

I was visiting New York City for the weekend and I only had two nights to have dinner at a restaurant of my choice. This was one of them and I’m happy to say I chose well. The restaurant has two levels. We were seated on the lower level so I cannot speak to what upstairs looks like. My friends and I ordered a bunch of starters to share and then a couple of main dishes. We started with the mussels in Provençal sauce, goat cheese profiteroles, and calamari. The mussels were great. They were hearty with shallots and veggies. The other two dishes were good as well, but the mussels were my favorite. For entrees my friends shared the rib eye. It was huge! I got the lamb chops. They were cooked perfectly. They may have been the best lamb chops I’ve ever had. They were seasoned simply, but the salt really enhanced the flavor of the chops. I was extremely happy with my dish. We also ordered the creamed spinach, which was great. For dessert we got the tiramisu and the chocolate mousse. The dessert portions are really small. They are probably three or four bites each so it’s a good way to cap off the meal without feeling too guilty about the calories. The chocolate mousse was good, but really rich. I was really happy with the entire meal. I’ve already recommended this restaurant to my friends. I highly recommend you to try it too.

Had date night last night with my guy and this is where we landed. Nice space and nice staff. The food? Delicioussssss. He had the rib eye steak with fries and I had the scallops. We shared the mozzarella and ricotta fritters and I indulged and in a couple cocktails and crème brûlée for desert. Everything was perfect. The place was busy with what appeared to be birthday dinners. On the main level, which is where we were sitting, there’s a bar in the back along with a single restroom that is too close, in my opinion, to the open cooking area. They should try to charge this setup.

Pretty good vegetarian dish of farro with roasted seasonal vegetables and zucchini noodles. Nice house bread(can’t say much about it since the server was not able to tell us anything about it). Very child/family friendly. Good fancy setting and convenient location.
