This is a tiny little pasta place. Overall atmosphere is hectic and chaotic as the restaurant is tiny and the servers are running around. Overall, good value with cheap wine options and good salad and bread. They have an interesting variety of pastas that are unique in flavor as well as specials of the day. Great for a casual date night or girls night but terrible for large crowds.

Really impressed with Lamarca! Visited on a Tuesday night and was blown away! Very reasonable prices for the quantity and quality of the pasta(and the wine at 20 bucks a bottle)! I had the Gnocchi with the recommended sauce(it’s a little sweet — good but made for a really rich meal)! One person at the table did the whole wheat fettuccine with the spicy sauce(yum) and the other got the Capellini Con Polpette with meatballs. Everything was great! Will definitely be back! FYI: they are not open on the weekends(and at one point only took cash — maybe that’s just next door).

So delicious! One of my favorites in the neighborhood. Everything’s good but I especially love their Chicken Parm and Spinach Fettucine. I wish they’d open on the weekends though!

Great little Italian spot. We were lucky and able to get a table for four at 8:30 on a Friday. The salad that was brought out was a nice surprise — light and crisp(cucumbers, green bens, mozzarella, celery and Lima beans in a light Italian-like sauce). We all liked our respective meals. I had the Porcini ravioli, which is only served on Thursdays and Fridays. I’m not sure what was in the sauce but it had a great flavor and wasn’t overly«mushroomy.» My friends enjoyed the chicken parmigiana and vegetarian lasagna. All in all, a cozy, friendly, quite tasty spot. The ONLY downside was that they closed at 10 so we were kind of ushered out — but in a very friendly way.

For the value, this place is amazing. You can get excellent pasta in good sized portions for great prices. Each pasta includes delicious bread and a real salad. You can tell they use high quality ingredients here and they take their pasta seriously. They also have a great wine list at $ 20 a bottle. Everyone who works here is very nice, although keep in mind they ask you pay tips in cash, not sure why. It’s never too crowded, but I like this place enough that I want them to get more business.

The Chitarrucci Aurora(Lunch) $ 12.50(fresh square-cut linguine in a tomato cream sauce with white pepper and vodka, topped with smoked mozzarella.) was quite satisfying, although there wasn’t enough smoked mozzarella to go around. FYI Their eat24 link incorrectly goes to , their sister cheese shop.

This was my go to lunch spot after class. Good memories here! Great food especially. Arrabbiata Fusilli was my go to combo.

Ugh. If you are looking for al dente pasta with flavor, then this is NOT the right place for you. I mean how can you possibly go wrong with a pesto pasta??? My fusilli pasta was wayyy overcooked so it was soggy and my pesto was so bland. So disappointed.

Came back 15+ years after I first discovered gnocchi pasta here. Since then moved to LA and had it at dozens of restaurants. La Marca’s is still the best.

This place did not live up to its reviews on here for me. Although it’s great how inexpensive it is(you’ll have dinner and be completely full for under $ 17), the food was very bland and nothing special in my opinion. For dinner, you receive a salad and very large amount of bread with each meal. I got the Tagliatelle Ai Spinaci, and it was enormous but really nothing more than noodles with sauce. It had very little taste and could’ve easily used some vegetables, meat, cheese, spices, etc. anything to make it a little more exciting. The salad, however, was good. The atmosphere is similar to a diner — it’s a place where you come in quickly and can sit wherever. The service was not so great and we had to flag our waitress down for the check/to pick up our plates.

Small, no frills, quick, but not fast food style dining. The pasta was okay, a little softer than I like but the arrabbiata sauce was phenomenal! As was the Italian fennel sausage. The dressing on the side salad was pretty amazing as well, if you like oregano(it has a lot of oregano) everything tasted fresh and homemade. Service was a little ‘lax but friendly. Great for take out or a quick bite, wouldn’t suggest it for a first date or anything like that, more for a chill casual evening with friends/significant other.

Came here with a friend after she claimed that there was this really good pasta place nearby Baruch College and I took her word for it. The venue itself was pretty small but they say that it’s the hole-in-the-walls that serves up some of the best food. And boy, they were right! The menu is pretty simple. Pick your sauce and pick your kind of pasta. You can also mix and match sauces, so that’s a big plus! I forgot what kind of pasta and sauce I ordered lol but it was heavenly. It tasted really homemade and the cheese melted onto the sauce perfectly. The restaurant offered a good amount of seats and breadsticks to accommodate your pasta. Would I come back? Yes! Maybe one day after class. The service was also extremely nice and he helpfully explained the ordering process to us.

Just ordered the spaghetti carbonara… my first ever…(always avoided ordering it from guilt of its richness and associated excessive calories)…so glad I did, wow it was delicious! the spaghetti was home made and perfectly cooked. The sauce creamy and perfectly seasoned. Shared it with my husband with tasty stuffed mushrooms. This resto has been operating for 30y and you can feel it… The warm cozy and homey atmosphere and wonderful service makes you feel exactly that: at home. Thank you!!!

We didn’t have any plans this past Friday night and were looking for something casual and relatively close to Murray Hill. I had had Lamarcapasta bookmarked on Unilocal for a while so we decided to finally give it a try. We arrived at around 8:30 pm, and at first we thought they were closed, but it turns out we were just looking at the adjoining cheese shop next door. The sit-down portion of the restaurant was open, and it was neither crowded nor lifeless. Inside, it’s very casual — not much going on aesthetically. Plenty of points to Lamarca on the wine list: Every bottle costs a grand total of $ 18. Not every glass — every bottle. Everything is prices awesomely, so you can choose based on your actual preferences instead of price point. We ordered a bottle of cabernet sauvignon from California and thought it was pretty darn tasty. As for dinner, I ordered the spaghetti alla carbonara(Fresh cream, onion, ham, egg yolk and parmesan). It was very good. The sauce was hearty, and not salty at all like a lot of carbonaras. It was served at a hearty portion with a fresh salad and rolls, and at $ 16, it was a pretty good value. The service was also great; I had to get some of my meal to go, and our server packed up a couple of extra rolls for us for free. I will say, however, that although my boyfriend loved his lasagna, I tried a bite and didn’t think it was that amazing. And while I loved my dish, it wasn’t really something I couldn’t whip up at home, although I’m sure I couldn’t do it as well. Still, Lamarcapasta was a solid 3.5-star experience for me.

Very, very good. $ 10 – 14 pastas – very fast on the weekdays to grab a quick sit-down lunch. Professional waiting, delicious pastas.

*** Quick, Delicious, & Well-Priced *** Come here for a quick Italian bite. The dining experience is very casual and you’ll receive bread and salad with your pasta. The restaurant also serves specific dishes on particular days. Keep in mind they are not open on weekends!

Small quaint restaurant. The pasta was good but I didn’t find it particularly amazing or unique. Solid place for pasta but probably won’t go back again.

I think this is my new quick lunch spot in the 23rd St area that quashes my Italian cravings. Last week, I actually came here 3 days in a row because Ken(the really nice and interesting guy behind the counter) gave me continual great recommendations and pleasant side conversation. I normally don’t like to repeat lunch spots, but I felt oddly at ease with having some nice pasta and relaxing by one of the high stools. I personally love the arrabbiata mix with Bolognese sauces with the cavatappi. Food gets served quickly and their soups are pretty good as well. I know some people are looking for the review of the food on the sit-down dining experience in the spot next door, but I’m happy with just ordering a pasta with a sauce and just relaxing with a good crossword.

CASHONLY. I only came here for the sauce, and you get to have two sauces on one dish! I combined the aurora and pesto sauce together with farfalle. Those two are the more popular ones compared to others. The aurora sauce had a little spicy kick and the pesto sauce was creamy and pesto-y. The portion was pretty satisfying for lunch(only $ 7) and I added a bowl of house salad on the side for another $ 3 more. After taking the first bite of the pasta, I couldn’t stop eating. The only thing I regretted not having was a slice of bread. There was leftover sauce and I wished I had the bread to soak all that was left. Next time, next time.
