Very good dinner. Family of 4, and we all had the prix fixe for $ 19. Included main courses of Lasagna, Salmon, and Chicken Parm. All three dishes were very well prepared. Delivered on time. Hot and delicious. Salad and Corn chowder were also brought as appetizers. Desert was cheesecake, tiramisu, and bread pudding. Great food. Great service. Great value. Would highly recommend.

Ambiance: Quaint, plain and comfortable. It is an old school place to go for Italian food not ambiance. There were tourists, staff and local businessmen eating here at once. Service: Excellent and efficient. The waiter is a pro. Food came out very quickly and no mistakes were made. Food: Good. Although there are many interesting choices, we both felt like having a plate of home made pasta. I had the pappardelle amatriciana with bocconcini salad, and she had pappardelle bolognese. My sauce had some small hard chunks of ham that I was not expecting, and would have been better without. I also tried the bolognese but it was incredibly salty(If you are a smoker you will probably love it). Value: OK. The pappardelle were a bit steep for $ 18 but at least they come with a starter salad and good bread. The wines were OK but I don’t recommend the house red. The Primitivo is way better.

7 pm here on a Friday night and the only guest. I don’t know much how this place can stay in business when one of the busiest night of the week and they have no one. The two servers seem quite nice. It’s a cute location. Tiny but a nice atmosphere. Finally at 8 there were five other people. The spinach lasagne was delicious! It was a nice portion. Creamy and I’m stuffed when I couldn’t finish it. The salad that came out first had way too much dressing. But it was tasty. Small wine list but this is a small place. I didn’t like that hey didn’t have more options available for a glass. Overall I’d come here again if I thought this place had more of a chance of staying open.

A friend and I stopped in here for lunch, bc it looked like a cute spot. However, my friend noted that something must be wrong bc it was lunchtime yet there was no one else in there, besides us. So we ordered a cosmo, which was $ 6 but they came in these miniature martini glasses that were so small, I thought it was a joke. We were mad that the server didnt tell us that they wouldnt be normal sized cosmos for $ 6. We thought that was the lunch time happy hour special. Oh well. Then we ordered shrimp scampi… shrimp was deelish but the pasta tasted(and looked) under cooked, and the portion of shrimp scampi itself was very small. So small that we both were still starving hungry after that. So $ 22(not cheap) for a TINY portion of shrimp scampi and that micro mini cosmo… sigh. We wont be going back there.

I really, really enjoyed La Stanza. Yes, it’s in Murray Hill, yes, it’s tiny and it’s mildly confusing where House of Lasagna ends and it begins. Yes, most of the menu is actually written on the«specials» board in chalk. However. It’s super affordable, the service is fantastic, and the food is freshly made. You can tell the ingredients are really top quality. I’m actually confused WHY it’s so cheap, but I’m not complaining. I got the fettucine with shrimp(which was in a vodka-like sauce) and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The shrimp were large and really well seasoned. Friend got the spaghetti and meatballs, which he said was delicious as well. The bread isn’t out of this world, but not bad. You get a free side salad with each entrée and refills are free — I repeat — free. Would definitely recommend!

This is the upstairs of House of Lasanga, with a very intimate setting. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The wine was very good and reasonably priced(we bought a bottle). My boyfriend got the fettuccine with shrimp in a pink cream sauce and I got the papadelle bolognese. My dish was very good, with a lot of chunks of meat. The pasta for both dishes was homemade and tasted amazing. The fettuccine in a pink sauce was phenomenal. I ended up switching dishes and eating that because it was that good. Even though it was just a pink cream sauce, it had such a rich, amazing flavor. The food was also a pretty good value. Overall, this is a nice place for an intimate dinner with great service and really good pasta.

I did something at La Stanza that I have never done before at a restaurant… I turned back my wine because it was too warm. One the corner of 39th and Lex, La Stanza is an upstairs Italian restaurant, with a charming ambiance and friendly staff. My friend and I wandered off the street searching for a nice place to rest our feet and stumbled upon La Stanza. In fact, Menupages gave it such a good review that we didn’t think twice Unfortunately, La Stanza lived up to its name of a guest room; I really wish I had eaten in the Master. The food was edible but certainly not on par with the fabulous Italian food that this town is known for. While the staff was friendly and relatively competent(though we were told almost every menu item was the best on the menu.), I just can’t in good faith give this more than a 2 Star rating. I wish it was better! It is a block from my work. Oh well, there are a couple other restaurants to try…
