Love the environment here. Different than the usual Latin American restaurant in the area, with lovely decorations. The service was very nice, but the food was a little bit slow, especially when we were both already a bit peckish. We split two corn and cheese empanadas as the appetizer, which was rich and tasty, but too small for the price. We both decided to go with the small plate parpardelle, which was a wise choice for us. The portion was perfect, definitely enough for a hungry grown man like me, who eats a lot. The short rib was braised to perfection with heavy black pepper and herb seasoning, which I loved. The only thing missing was a slice of bread to soak up the sauce, because you wouldn’t want to waste any on the plate!

A pretty restaurant with great ambiance for either a date or a group, its always one of my first choices to grab a bite in the hood. The food is delicious(the Milanesa Sandwich is my first choice for brunch) & the servers are very attentive to make sure your unlimited drinking is well, unlimited. When placing a reservation ask for William or Alejandro. They’re super friendly and will make sure you feel at home while giving you phenomenal service. It is definitely my favorite UES brunch spot. Go check it out!

I went a couple of days ago, date night with Mexican food. We decided to try Pulqueria since I have heard good things about it. Started off with the guac ceviche mixto I loved the guac! It was so good. I had the branzino for my entrée and my boyfriend had the picanha. The food was DELICIOUS the meat cooked at the right temperature. The portion was good enough but my boyfriend was too hungry but overall the food was really good. I have to say that the service was OUTSTANDING. I’m pretty picky but our server JAZMIN knew exactly how to describe the food and honestly made my mouth water with how she presented the options of the platters. She was accommodating to my needs, professional and always attentive of what we needed, I will definitely come back and recommend it to friends!!! Ps: felt at home, best service ever!

Randomly ended up here yesterday. What a great find in UES! Food: Amazing! we had the Lamb meatballs that were delicious, pickled cauliflower, coconut rice, and Lobster dish(yummy!!), Wine(awesome!). Service: William was our host and he provided the best service! He was funny, engaging, respectful, and very kind. They truly believe in good customer service and William made us feel special. Even the manager Victor came to say hello and we had a great chat with him as well. Going back there often for the service, food, and learned that there is live Latin band and Flemenco dancing/singing on Mondays & Wednesdays. Nice to have this wonderfully decorated and modern restaurant with a feel of warmth and cozy atmosphere staffed by lovely people!

Awesome food. Long wait time for said food. Came here for Sunday brunch and must say that it was pretty damn good. To drink, I had the Vampiro, which was like a kicked-up bloody mary. It was outstanding. I could’ve drank 6 of them but decided to not do the unlimited option — next time, I probably will. The sweet potato empanadas were awesome! Creamy texture and perfect combination of sweet and savory. The short rib eggs benedict was delicious, but was quite small for $ 17. The disappointing portion size was covered up by some lettuce. If they wanted to keep it to two eggs, they should at least add some more short ribs to the dish. The tortilla espanola was delicious and is something I would consider ordering myself. It was an appropriately sized portion and had a nice kick to it. The wait time for the food, however, was unnecessarily long. We must have waited around 30 minutes in between the empanada appetizer and the entrees. Maybe this was done on purpose to encourage us to order more pre-prepared drinks? Overall, the food and drinks were quite good and I would like to return.

Was there today for brunch. What a great way to start a Sunday! La Pulperia Omlette was delicious and i loved the fact that they had a healthy option on their menu, as i tend to care a lot about what i eat. The Mimosas were excellent, not to mention the person that took care of us, William who was the nicest, most welcoming and attentive server i have met on my visits to the Upper East Side Restaurants. La Pulperia UES will definitely become my Sunday, at least once a month, tradition and treat.

Came here for a friends birthday. We were 2 couples and sat in the back of the restaurant by the wine cellar. We enjoyed everything about our experience. Décor– clean, modern, spacious. It did look like some of the tables were close together so it would depend on where you are sitting. Food– very good there was nothing we didn’t like. Some things were spicer then expected but over all we enjoyed our meal. We had the trio of apetizers(salmon was the very best) lobster and baked egg(recommend) meatballs, gnocchi and parpadelli, Brazilian stew and fish ribs(the last 2 were the spiciest things we had) Service– knowledgable, attentive and friendly have nothin but good things to say. Since it was my friends birthday they brought out a caramel crêpe with an authentic Brazil fruit ice cream(I forgot the name) and then the partner j t he restaurant came out with champagne for all of us. We talked for a little bit with him and you can tell they really care about the restaurant and the customers. We will defiantly be back.

Amazing ambiance and drinks. We came here for after dinner cocktails, and the interestingly lit bar and décor were very cool, service was very friendly and attentive, and specialty cocktail was well made. They have a couple festive nights with music and specials that I’m eager to try as well as their tapas. The staff was eager to highlight the different weekly activities they have going on, and I definitely plan to go back to try their food. Highly recommend as a spot to go with friends or a date.

My girlfriend and I have our birthdays one day apart from one another. On Monday i was looking for a place with a romantic ambiance, but also have that comforting feel where it’s not to «bougie». This gem of a place was spot on. Décor: very romantic, soft lit lights, open floor, comforting spacious seating, nice long bar with ample space between bar and table, that way you can enjoy someone’s company sitting at a table with no worry that someone at the bar will be in your way hovering. Food: Wow. really good. Happy Hour Oysters. $ 1 each and yes, each one is sizable and the queso fundido with a side of toasted bread was ON… THE…MONEY. wow so beyond good. we both decided on the steak which was cooked beautifully. You know you are eating a good seasoned steak when no sauce is needed. For dessert we had an apple pie tasting crème brule and duece de leche crêpe which was OMGGOOOD Waiter: Adiel was out waiter and he was great. very detailed in explaining some dishes we had questions on. made some suggestions which we appreciated. He was aware of our birthday celebrations, so when he brought out our desserts, he and the manager brought out a complimentary glass of champagne with heart shaped strawberries inside. If that’s not romance I’m not sure what is all i know is that i earned mega points from my girlfriend by taking here and for sure we are coming back now the question for you guys is, dont you want points from your significant other? if so bring her here. If you’re a woman reading this, have your significant other take you here fast

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday tonight and it just so happens to be his tomorrow… what amazing service we had. The food was absolutely amazing from the queso fundido to the steaks. The frozen margaritas during happy hour were a great compliment. We ended the night with crème Brule and crepes with two complimentary glasses of champagne. We would most definitely recommend this place for a romantic dinner, birthday celebration or just a night out. The waiter Adiel was amazing and very attentive. We will be there again.

I’ve been meaning to stop by every time I pass the cute restaurant front. There is a really nice vibe and the service is great. Not too pushy but not absent. They have a nice wine and cocktail list. I highly recommend the empanadas. Nice crust and juicy filling. The papperdelle with short ribs is good but overpiced in my opinion. We both had the specials — rib eye and branzio. Both were very tasty! They give you several small sides that are OK. I only really liked the celery root gratin. However we added the garlic mashed potatoes that were excellent. Other things on the menu looked interesting. I would definitely return.

We had a great experience here for brunch today. The waiter and manager went above and beyond to make sure our brunch was memorable. We were saying goodbye to a friend that was moving and they not only sang to her, the bought the entire table shots to send her off with. The food is always good, I especially liked the Eggs Benedict today. We will be back!

Popped in for a last minute holiday dinner with four friends. Had an amazing time. The food was delicious and top notch staff. My classic mojito was the best I’ve had. Looking forward to coming back. Also, there is live music on Monday nights!

I stopped at this place one early Saturday afternoon for brunch. They have brunch specials and there is a set price for unlimited drinks. Keep in mind though that the bottomless alcohol price is added to what you will pay for your food. I had La Pulperia omelette here. This was probably one of the absolute best omelette that I’ve ever had. It was so good that the bartender looked at me and I guess he could see how much I was enjoying it and says, «is it really good?» To my reply of course was«best omelette ever.»

If I based this review solely on the décor and atmosphere, it would easily get 5 stars, I couldn’t help but comment how much I loved the interior of the restaurant. I would like to come back for breakfast or brunch, but in terms of the dinner I had there, I felt it came up somewhat flat. The décor is sleek, modern, kinda Hamptony with all white interior with very cool vibes and a nice atmosphere if you were looking to go on a date, female hangout or just a nice casual dinner. The Spanish menu looked so overwhelming appealing but it was kinda hit or miss. The food: Queso Fundido– Chihuahua cheese, Spanish chorizo, carmelized onions, grilled bread. I think if you ever see anything on a menu called fundido, you almost have to order it! And it’s also so fun to say lol But this is basically a Spanish version of cheese fondue and I thought the flavors were nice, the queso had a really wonderful chew to the cheese and the hot ass cast iron skillet it is served on creates these really awesome crusty cheese bits. This is a super popular dish and one that should be tried but my two issues were the grease factor and the bread could be more toasted. I know it is cheese, but when you see the pool of grease at the bottom of the cast iron, it’s not a sexy look and don’t expect to run no marathons after either lol It sits in your stomach like a brick. Moqueca Mixta–(Brazilian Style Stew) Squid, shrimp, mussels, white fish, scallops, soy beans, Spanish chorizo, bacalao, green coconut rice, dende oil. I think it is an issue if the memorable thing on the plate was the rice, the rice was good though. I did also like the broth, it had a nice, rich flavor but it was a tad too sweet and I think it had too much coconut milk. For the most part, the seafood was prepared well but this dish was overly salty for me. In general, I don’t like my food to be too salty but I thought this was really salty. Picanha– For those not in the know, picanha is a super popular Brazilain cut of beef that is served in all Brazilian rodizios, in the US it is called a rump cap or rump cover and it isn’t really widely used. So I was really excited to try it here since I have had it in the past and I really enjoyed it, I ordered it med rare and the one here was sadly overcooked and on the chewy side. The meat was dry and it was kinda shocking how chewy it was. The sides were interesting, I liked the celery root gratin and pickled eggplant. The chimi was decent, the cauli was just OK and the spinach was so so. For me, the sides didn’t make any sense, I don’t feel they complemented the steak at all, I kinda felt like they were just randomly added. La Pulperia Verano– La Pitaya Tequila, Torres orange liqueur, fresh pinapple, jalapeño, cilantro, Black lava, salt rim. This was the cocktail of the night, it was so light and refreshing with a nice jalapeño kick, I highly recommend this drink.

What I tried: beef empanadas, mussels(on the specials), and the steak with 5 mini sides, the smokey room cocktail Tip: check in on Unilocal and get a free glass of wine mon-wed Story: Came here with high expectations and was left a bit disappointed. Everything is shareable which I really love. I like to try different things. Per the waiter’s suggestion, we ordered the mussels which were the special. They were OK but pretty small and lacking some flavor. We next had the beef empanadas. Also OK. The crust was good but the filling also lacked flavor. To be honest, I’ve had better empanadas from food trucks. We got the steak with the 5 small sides. We upgraded the hanger steak to prime rib. I really liked some of the sides but the steak was void of any seasoning. My favorite part of the evening was the smoky room cocktail. All in all– the food here was OK. Not great. The ambience was nice but that’s probably not enough to get me to return. If you’re looking for good shareables in the area, I’d try Pil pil or bocqueria over Pulperia

I wish I could give this place 6 stars — an absolute must visit in the UES! Yesterday I had the best day of my life, my boyfriend who I love very much proposed to me in Central Park. After the proposal, my fiancé had our entire family surprise us at La Pulperia for cocktails and food. They gave us an area right near the front window. The spread was awesome — oysters, empanadas, lamb meatballs, potatoes, etc. Our entire party couldn’t get enough of it — all of them agree they they were the best empanadas ever! Luis the bartender was great at making us feel right at home. Above all the staff was unbelievably welcoming making this so special day even more special for us. It felt like they were part of the celebration. Many thanks to Eddy, Luis and the rest of the staff yesterday — this restaurant was my favorite spot especially for Happy Hour before yesterday — now it’s my whole families favorite spot! Can’t thank you guys enough!

La Puleria’s brunch menu is a little on the pricey side, but the unique and delicious entrees made it worth the visit(menu here: ). My friends and I started with the salmon brulee. What a wonderful medley of flavors combining in your mouth! It’s not a large portion, but it’s one of those menu items that I could see winning a challenge on Top Chef with its fusion of salmon tartar, fromage brulee, strawberry and ginger leche de tigre. This was the highlight of our meal. As an entrée we all ordered the lobster and baked eggs. It comes with truffle scented grilled bread which is perfect for sopping up the crema blue cheese, fresh cream, eggs and lobster which are served together in a mini cast iron skillet. It’s a sensible portion size with amazing creamy flavor. You can see the chunks of lobster. I would order this again. If you want unlimited drinks it’s $ 20 extra which includes the brunch basics(mimosas, bloody mary’s, et al.), but for $ 5 more you can get more interesting beverages mixed with fruit flavored liqueurs and one even made with a spicy salsa. Our server was very friendly — only thing, though, is that we ordered ceviche as an appetizer and it never came. When we mentioned this to the server he asked us if we were sure or if we were pulling one over his head. It seemed like he was half joking and we really didn’t appreciate the even mild insinuation that we were potentially lying or up to something. That made us feel very uncomfortable, even though he was generally very nice. As it turned out, the runner forgot the ceviche in the refrigerator. Womp. Would have been nice if they brought it out comped as a courtesy for the mixup.

Holy cow this place is awesome. The food is so creative and artistic — such an amazing combination of flavors and textures. DRINKS: The wine list is pretty excellent, though definitely marked up significantly. A bottle of Argentinian Malbec(Septima) which can be bought for only $ 8 – 10 at Trader Joe’s cost about $ 40 here. However, at least they have a good wine list to choose from. Instead of wine, consider one of their amazing cocktails from there extensive cocktail menu. After all, they do claim to be a «cockleteria.» The drinks are eclectic and perfectly balanced. FOOD: The food is really pretty exciting. I had the salmon tartare with a fromage brûlée and a strawberry guava glaze — holy cow! Delish! The ceviche was fresh and good. The lobster«taquitos» are really just mini won ton tacos and are super good. Overall, the service was fantastic, the restaurant was clean, open, and not too loud, and the food and drinks were spectacularly creative and delicious. I would definitely recommend this for a date night or a fun night out with the girls.
