wonderful place. Only reason it doesn’t get 5 starts is because the beer is not as cold as i wish it was… but we loved this place. Oysters, HH, ceviche, etc… all great

Everything was alright. The lobster BLT was oily and not very good. Barely any lobster or bacon. Even the chips that came with it were decent. Wasn’t a fan of the goldfish crackers. I did however like the board right by our table. It was fun to play around with and make the time go by.

Stopped in for a drink with a couple of friends and got a seat at the bar. The bartender was very nice and the place had a cool rustic feel. I ordered the spice apple cider and it tasted pretty good. Its a very nice place for an intimate date as well because I saw plenty of folks who looked like they were on date there. If I am every around in that area I would go again.

We had a delicious brunch here yesterday! $ 29 bottomless mimosas and bloody marys plus your meal. My friend and I both went with the angry crab benedict — it was really, really good. Eggs were poached well and the crab cakes were wonderful! Lots of crab meat and a good amount of heat for the«angry» flavor. Bloody Mary’s were a little heavier on the horseradish than I would prefer, but to each his own! French toast bites were also delicious… very rich and sweet. Good for a little appetizer at brunch! Definitely want to go back to check out the $ 1 oyster HH!

Great happy hour specials with $ 1 oysters(even though their website says $ 2 hh oysters they are actually $ 1!) The servers are super friendly and the snacks I got — fried stuffed olives, homemade goldfish crackers(free with Unilocal check in), and deviled eggs were all great! Definitely a good spot for a mid-week hh!

When I walk past a sign that says $ 1 Oysters, I can never resist! I usually head to the nearby Barn Joo for their $ 1 oysters, but this place looked much emptier and calm. I was pretty excited when the hostess said the deal could be had while seated at a table, and not at an overcrowded seatless bar. My friend and I ordered 12 oysters, and felt a little bit judged for getting only that – but we had no shame and were saving room for a proper dinner downtown. The oysters came out right away, with a nice accompaniment of lemon, cocktail sauce, and a vinegary sauce. While the flavor was nice, the texture was off. They were a bit tough and resembled the texture of being possibly frozen? I’d like to think they were fresh, but something was off with them. I probably wouldn’t come back again for their happy hour oysters – you’re probably better off fighting for a bar stool at Barn Joo. I would probably come back to try some of their other things. The ambiance of the place is quite nice!

Absolutely amazing. We sat at the bar, and Max was an excellent server. The oysters were superb and we my husband and I both had the sangria, which was also great. This is the second Almond Group restaurant we’ve visited on this trip and we’ve been blown away both times by the food and the service. Highly recommend!

We’ve been here twice now. It replaced Bar Bretton, though not sure if it was just a rebrand and«reboot» or it’s totally different ownership. The food is similar, though they specialize in oysters. First off, way better than the more fancily decorated John Dory Oyster Bar about a minute away. Any surprise that this is a substance over form place compared to Dory when the latter is next to the FREAKINGACEHOTEL. SMH.(If you’ve never been to Ace Hotel, imagine Williamsburg all compressed into one room.) We had this tuna ahi thing, which was awesome, wrapped in this wonton roll. Also had brussell sprouts. I had the KOBE burger, and it was just as awesome as the NBA namesake in his pre-2012 «heroic» era. We did find a Lobster BLT we ordered a little too salty. What’s with so much SALT these days, especially with the new NYC public health push on sodium. Anyhow, it’s a solid meal with nice service and creative but not over the top décor. Will go again.

The first time I came here, the restaurant was really cute and rustic with the candles above you, and the magnetic board where you can write random sentences. I would highly recommend the lobster BLT sandwich although it had a limited number of sandwiches per day. The second time I came, I shared a clam chowder with my boyfriend and I had the fried oyster po boy which wasn’t comparable to the BLT, but the slaw that was in the sandwich really complemented the fried oyster.

I wanted to bring my cousin from SF to a really cool restaurant that she could only find in NYC. This place hit the spot. Super trendy nyc atmosphere inside and also has a great check in offer! The oysters were definitely one of the best I’ve tried in this area. I’m a big lover of underrated vegetables(cauliflower and brussels sprouts) so of course we had to order those too. The truffle cauliflower dish was amazing and the cheese fried olives(who even invented those??) were so yummy. The drink named the millionaire mule was really tasty! Highly recommend that drink — plus it came in a cool mason jar!

I’ve been here twice and had a great meal both times. Of course, I started with oysters — delicious as expected. We also tried the small platter, which includes oysters, shrimp, ceviche, etc. It’s a great way to start off the meal with a little taste of many different things. I also redeemed the Unilocal offer for the house made gold fish — mighty tasty. The first time I visited, I ordered the kale salad. It was good, but I probably should have ordered one of the other outstanding things on the menu. The tough thing is, if you’re looking for something light to eat, you should probably just order oysters. On my next visit, I ordered the stuffed pasta and savored every bite. The pasta is stuffed with gooey, creamy cheese, and the corn in the dish gives it a brightness to lighten up each bite and add texture. Also tried the lobster BLT — as expected, it was buttery and had big chunks of lobster.

Still a fun casual place to slurp some oysters and satisfy my east coast fix. The crab and corn chowder light and tasty. Angry crab cakes had quite a kick. The bathrooms are downstairs and the wallpaper is Dr Seuss so it adds some delight. Good food and food service with excellent beers on tap. Lunch prix fixe is 27 for a beer or wine, appetizer and entrée..

We had a great time at this restaurant. Our party of 4 was given choice to sit either in the back or by the window. The ambience in the back is very energetic(so expect people and music to be a little bit louder), while the front is more quiet and relaxing. We had a baby in a stroller who the staff nicely helped us accommodate. I have to say that the service was a little slow(maybe because it was Saturday) but the food was really worth it. The price was overall reasonable and the wine selection was good. I definitely recommend.

Finding a place to have a dinner a Saturday night in NYC and having a great moment, done. With this place. We had 8 different meals, really good and tasty all of it, 2 bottles of wine, drank all along the evening. I recommand the blue crab cake.

Food was pretty terrible. The oyster tacos to share were a disgrace. The fried oysters had no taste and it was essentially placed in between a micro taco shell. A tostito would have tasted better. And for $ 15? What? The Lobster BLT was also a fail. Barely any lobster meat sandwiches and sliced between two giant masses of white toasted bread. For ~$ 25, I could have gotten a more decent lobster roll at virtually any place. There really isn’t any positives I can think of to even boost this to a 3 star review. Even our friendly server couldn’t save this place.

I can’t believe this place isn’t constantly packed. My dad wrote a rave review for L&W over a year ago, and any time they’re in NYC, they make sure they have a meal there. My husband and I ate here for the first time this past weekend, and I can say with confidence that this meal was amongst the top 3 I have EVER had in my life. We got to the restaurant on a Sunday riiiiight at opening, and were greeted and sat immediately. We were the only customers in the place for 15 mins or so, but the staff did not approach anything with lethargy or laziness. They were attentive and focused, but did not rush us for a second. We started with an order of the homemade«Goldfish» crackers and the cornbread that comes with the bottomless brunch, along with our mimosas. So good. We didn’t know it at the time, but the kitchen wasn’t fully set-up when we ordered(my husband: the smoked pork hash; me: the shrimp and grits). I mention this only to emphasize that the service was so fantastic that we had no idea at all until the hostess mentioned it. While our food was being made, they checked-in, but never enough so as to make our time uncomfortable. They gave us the space to enjoy our time, but were always present if(when) we wanted a refill of the yummy mimosas. The crackers and cornbread were perfect. The crackers were peppery and adorable, and the cornbread was a PERFECT consistency. Yummy beyond belief, too. Not a bit dry. And the chipotle honey butter was a delightful accompaniment. Then, came our meals. I wish I could think of fancier words than delicious and fantastic and perfect, because they truly don’t measure up to the culinary delights we experienced in our main courses. My husband’s smoked pork hash was rich and dripping with perfect seasoning. The fingerling potatoes were roasted to perfection and the bed of arugula was tart and well-paired. I couldn’t even guess at the seasoning combination, but it was a delight. My shrimp and grits was astonishing. Every bite was an experience, especially when the yolk from the poached egg and the basil butter decided to join the party. The cheddar grits were smooth and creamy, and were cheesy without overwhelming the more delicate flavors. I will be inventing excuses to return to NYC soon just for another go at this menu. Outstanding on all fronts. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the perfect end to our anniversary weekend, L&W.

Boyfriend and I came here around 7pm on a Sunday for dinner, love the atmosphere and the décor! For food, we ordered the octopus flatbread to start which was amazing and could definitely be an entrée if only one person ordered it. My boyfriend ordered the Lobster BLT, which he said was good but a little complicated to eat. The size of the bread makes it difficult to have in a bite, and I will have to say that for both entrees the ratio of chips to entrée was too great. I ordered the sloppy tacos entrée which was really good(definitely sloppy). Sidenote: My boyfriend did experience some stomach issues later on that night, and while I came out unscathed, could be worth noting.

Casual and cozy place with nautical flare. People were so nice and tried to accommodate my request for a quieter table(It was a Friday, so I was a bit concerned about loudness, which wasn’t a big deal.) And their niceness continued all night by our waitress and everyone else. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of oysters they were serving that day.(Their menu has the date, so I assume they change it daily.) So we were able to taste very different types of oysters on our«small platter.» The crudo was really really really delicious! Heirloom tomato salad was so much more interesting than normal caprese and squid salad was also delicious. My husband wished they had more fish on the menu, but I was happy with all the shell fish. They also serve HALF glasses of wine! I was not sure if I wanted to order another glass, and she told me I could get a half glass — so brilliant! The BGM was 80s music and wasn’t super loud. We’re definitely coming back.

Fresh and delicious oysters! This is actually a 4.5 stars(minus half a star for the price — happy hour oysters are $ 2 instead of the general $ 1 around the area). There are so many types that my bf and I couldn’t resist trying them all! Our favorites were the happy oysters, hama hama, island creek, beach blonde and pink moon. Least favorite was definitely the Bonitas. Jumbo shrimp cocktail was totally worth the $ spent and we ended up ordering 4 of them. 28 oysters total, angry crab cake, and salmon tartar. We could not pick a better place to satisfy our Oyster cravings and start our July 4th weekend. Highly recommended if you love oysters!

I’d been here once for an event and I had only a lukewarm impression of the restaurant. At the time they hadn’t been open long so I chalked it up to working the kinks out. Fast forward to now, I came here for dinner. The place is cuter than I remembered, with the mason jar lighting and touches of nautical décor everywhere. We started with the small platter, which has east and west coast oysters, clams, shrimp, ceviche, crudo and tartare. Yup, that’s what they call a «small» platter. It was a nice presentation and the seafood was fresh and tasty. I ordered the pulpo flatbread for my main, which is basically a flatbread pizza with octopus, arugula, garlic, and aioli. The octopus was slightly more charred than I prefer, but otherwise it was really tasty. The garlic went really well with the arugula and aioli and the flatbread was very crispy. Prices are slightly on the higher side but otherwise a good casual dinner spot.
