I didn’t even know Port Authority –had– a bowling alley! But it was pretty damn nice. It felt like a club. They even had a bouncer at the front, which confused me because he wasn’t checking IDs. It was $ 29 per person for 2 hours of bowling, plus shoes. Anything else was extra, like food or alcohol. The beer tubes were crazy shit. I didn’t drink any though — I hate beer. And they have WAITERS too. @_@ Our guy was named Yuriy. He was cool. The overall price was rather high for a Brooklynite used to paying single digits for bowling, but as usual Manhattan gets to rape my wallet. The only bitch I have about the whole night was that for some reason the computer in the GREEN lane(19) was being periodically stupid, and either not logging scores, or saying that a pin was knocked down when it was clearly up(leading some of us to get free spares, which was cool, but inaccurate). Oh, and my other bitch was that the DJSUUUUUCKED. He was playing cool 80s tunes, but his transitions were abominable. I wanted to shoot him in the face after he mangled Cindy Lauper and Michael Jackson, and several others. But the night ended on Billy Joel, so not all was lost. I bowled schizophrenically, as usual. Strike, nothing, spare, nothing, strike, pitiful, spare, etc. I ended up with a 70 and an 82 respectively in the two games. Not too terrible, but everyone else in my lane had at least 20 points on me(especially Rob, who brought his own ball and killed those pins every time). I think the only one who bowled crappier than me was Suzi. But oh well, I had fun regardless, and the scores weren’t too important. Much thanks to Peter K. for organizing the whole shebang.
