Not sure why Kingdom has such a bad rating… Got my first tattoo here on my birthday! I went around East/West village looking for price quotes and they offered me the cheapest price($ 180 for maybe a 3.5×3.5 inch piece). My artist was Matthew, he was super nice and told me «Don’t worry even if you say to stop because it hurts I won’t» with a grin. Shoulder tattoo didn’t really hurt very much, just when the shading and color started I squeezed my friends’ hand a little harder but it was very bearable. Oh a note to Kingdom… they should probably update their facebook page! Matt wasn’t listed as an artist and the last post was from 2010 maybe. But I’ll definitely go back for more!

Got my tat done there today at 3 in the morning after bar hopping in the village. I was walking(or stumbling) back to the train station when I saw this spot and said fuck it, I’ve been wanting to get my next tattoo for awhile, but a lot of these places in NYC are snobbish or unprofessional(east river tattoo) I walk in here and there is no pretention. Not only that, a lot of places in the city will charge a minimum of 100 bucks even if its something tiny. I got a medium-large size triangle darkened in on my forearm. It only cost 80 bucks. It was done by the über sexy asian hottie Samantha. I’m extremely pleased and will be going back to her for my next one. Skip the bougie bullshit spots in the city, esp if your getting something simple like I did and check Kingdom. def ask for Samantha, she’s dope and hot.

When I think of this tattoo parlor, I think is the kind of place where Stu got his tattoo in The Hangover had it taken place in NYC. I’ve been here a couple of times actually and I’d say the ONLY reason we ended up here is because it was convenient and ended up here after drinks. One night after hanging out at Negril for my bday my friend decided to get her nose pierced. They took her downstairs in the little room when the guy seemed creepy. Didnt seem friendly. Its not fun walking down those stairs especially in heels and when youre tipsy. And you know when you drink a lot. you need to empty out your bladder. This place wins for most disgusting bathroom ever. Another visit was when a couple of my co-workers had some drinks at BBQs downtown BK and decided to go to the city. We ended up here and 3 of us got tatts while the others just chilled with us. They are overpriced as f***. I have a small tattoo of 4 letters on my wrist. About 1“x 2″ and it cost me $ 80. I didnt want to turn it down because it was tattoo night. My and one of my girlfriends were tatted upstairs by this cute female and downstairs our guyfriend was getting a huge tatt done downstairs. Of course I went down to see… I guess its more private down there but damn I hate those stairs! Don’t get me wrong, I love my tattoo but it shouldve been down for at least of what he charged me. They definitely milk it because they’re in the village. I’d rather get a tatt anywhere else. My first Tatt was done by YaYa @ Murder Ink in Queens. Great work. As far as piercings, I’ve had them done at 2 other places on the same block and I was pleased. Check out my other reviews for the names.

I don’t know if tattoo parlors have a similar rule to nail salons with the«don’t get your eyebrows waxed by the lady with no eyebrows» for the«don’t get a tattoo from someone covered in tattoos head to toe» but my artist Brian seemed very nice and I just wanna ask people with so many tattoos a billion questions, like«what age did you leave home» or «when did you take the plunge into face tattoos» and«do you have a relationship with your parent(s)/family, if so, how is it». Not joking just interested. The quality of work here I would say varies, but for something simple, it’s good. If I knew more, I probably would have paid more and gone somewhere better, but I would never get a tattoo if it required extensive planning, i hate that shit. I don’t do it for medically necessary things. My 2 tattoos are from here and they aren’t perfect but I love them because of what they MEAN, they are super cute anyway, and I liked my artists too. I wish I could ask them about their life paths. I am an artist myself and if I had a handle on the gun and some arm muscles, I know I’d be DAMN good at portraits and basically everything.

I am currently looking to book an appointment with a reputable artist to cover up the atrocious massacre I paid for at Kingdom Tattoos. One would think that a one inch, solid black Roman Numeral would be a breeze and that any artist at a shop would be able to pull this one off in no time, with it being asthetically pleasing. Boy, was I wrong! To start out, the guy at the front(cash register) quoted me and my bestie(they’re matching tatts) something north of $ 80. We were flabergasted, and stated that for something small and one color, that’s a pretty steep price. Insert beligerant lady(Jessica — ) who was just bragging about being on the cover of a Tattoo Magazine and is on Oxygen Network’s ‘Best Ink’ …: «If you want quality you’ve come to the right place, and you have to pay for quality! blah blah blah…» Well, the cashier knocked off $ 15 and said that he’d get it done for $ 65 a piece. I wasn’t looking forward to spending more than $ 50, but hey! So we’re then shuttled down to a small basement with characters sitting around looking like they just took a hit off of a crack pipe(i beleive that was a sign from above for us to run like hell back up the steps and out the door!) and little kids running around while their mother is being tattooed by one of the said crackheads… smh We’re introduced to Samantha. Sam claimed to have been tattooing for two years, but I honestly think she may have meant two ‘weeks,’ or even ‘hours.‘ So this Samantha artist took like 40 minutes to do each of our tatts. I thought it was odd that for one, it took so long for such a little piece and for two, that it was quite painful. But I put it off as her making sure the ink was ‘in there’ and that it was nice, dark and solid. Boy, was I wrong AGAIN!!! after it healed, I see that she missed a ton of spots, the ink is dull, the lines are shaky, there is this ‘smeared’ effect going on around the tatt and I am PISSED! … what was supposed to be a dainty little shoulder tattoo now has to turn into a full shoulder piece to cover this atrocity up! I wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone! and Samantha should really look for a new profession.

So the space is not the prettiest and might scare off someone who doesn’t know any better but if you can get through all of that I’d suggest you go see Vincent I promise you will walk out with a smile form ear to ear. This man is über talented and is very good at listening to his clients and delivering the goods. I’ve gotten 3 tattoo’s by him and have referred a couple of my friends who have all gone back to him for more work.

WTF!!! Ok, so, I went to this place in October for a piece on the back of my arm. I got the Statue of Liberty done by Chung. He did an amazing job. I went back to get the final touches this last month. I walked in and the guy at the desk told me Chung no longer works there. He said he had an artist that was just as good or better. His name is Mauricio. I asked the guy at the counter if he uses the same brand of ink as Chung. His words to me were«That does not make any difference». He continued to argue for a minute telling me this is his job and blah blah blah REDFLAG!!! Of course it makes a difference. What are u doing in a tattoo place if you don’t know sh*t about tattoos? I went ahead and did it anyway cuz it was my last night in NY. Mauricio did good work so I left better than we started off. I went back again last week cuz I was in the neighborhood. Horrible idea. I go in and tell these guys I wanted some simple cursive on my wrist with some rays around it. They give me to the guy with the chair in the front window. Nice guy but horrible artist. He was looking at and talking with other people while the needle was in me! Another artist in the place walked up in the middle of my tattoo and said«I didn’t know you tattoo man!» Come to find out, he’s only a piercer!!! The tattoo is all blown out and f*cked up. It is the worst tattoo on my body and I am so disgusted with these guys. Do not go here!!! They don’t take pride in their work because they make money regardless off of foot traffic all day. They don’t care about you or your body!!!

I got my first-ever tattoo here, and I can promise you that as long as I am here, I will go nowhere else. Their operation is safe and clean, and they go to great pains to explain everything they’re doing to make it less intimidating for someone who’s never been inked up before. Ray is the guy that did my piece, and he is THEMAN. He did amazing work, and is so light-handed that the whole thing barely hurt at all. It’s a little expensive, but it’s SO worth it for the quality work that you’ll get.
