I love Greek food, and this restaurant is definitely a standout and worthy of repeat. My friend and I shared the grilled octopus, lemon potatoes, lamb chops and ekmek kataifi. Everything was delicious and that was plenty of food for two. The octopus was flavorful and tender, the lemon potatoes were a pleasant surprise, the lamb chops were just as flavorful and tender as the octopus, and the ekmek was chosen based on the number of Unilocal photos(which now include my own) of the custard topped pastry. The price was surprisingly fair($ 54 before tip) and the service left nothing wanting. I look forward to returning to Kiki’s! Note that everyone in your party must be present to be seated, but we were seated immediately once we both arrived. The hostess was busy but remained friendly and helpful– often a rarity in the New York City dining scene!

Be prepared for a very long wait to get a seat and to get your food! We waited over an hr for a table for 2. We already had time to look at the menu while waiting so ordered right as we sat down but the grilled octopus still took about 30 mins. It was different than I’ve usually had it. It came chopped up in ¼/in pieces and the outside was quite burnt. The texture was much softer than I’ve had it but still very tasty. Then the fish of the day took over an hour. The top side was perfectly seasoned with salt but the other side was completely bland. For all the waiting, the waiter offered a dessert on the house. A simple greek yogurt with walnut and honey took another half hour. It was very good and creamy but in the end, he still charged us for it. Overall, the food was great but the service was quite bad. You can find better places with much less of a wait and better/quicker service.

Perhaps one of the best meals I have had in years! Bruno the bartender was also on point even though I will say the wine selection left a bit to be desired…

This is the china town gem you never knew existed. Some of the best no fuss, authentic Greek food we’ve had in New York. The mixed meat plate seems as though it’s from an old Greek family recipe. The house white wine is Delish and they serve in aluminum carafes. Just a lovely lovely experience we will be back. Only tip is to get there early!

Fun little spot. Tasty Greek in a space that manages to evoke the very best of a hip fondue spot in the 70s, a buzzing Italian eatery in 80s San Diego and a cozy canteen in courchevel. Taramasalata. A Pastitio. A Octopus A– Saganaki B

Really great, cozy restaurant with delicious food and nice service. My friend picked this place for a group gathering. Other than her, it was the first time coming here for all of us, and in our typical fashion, we all showed up separately in varying degrees of punctuality, and all of us had a hard time finding this place. As a friendly note, make sure you tell your friends that you picked a Greek restaurant that happens to be located in Chinatown and to make things more confusing, the restaurant’s sign is in Chinese. Not Greek. Or English, for that matter. Thank you. Once we made it and got ourselves situated, we let our friend do the ordering. We ordered plates of a couple different salads, eggplant mash, roasted lemon potatoes, grilled octopus, pita, fries, Tzatziki, the Mixed Grill(lamb chops, meat patties, other meats, fries), whole roasted fish(Red Snapper), and a few other dishes that escape my memory. I pretty much fell in love with the lamb chops and the roasted potatoes, although I have to say I enjoyed everything. Our server was very nice and didn’t mind that we kept ordering more dishes as friends showed up late. Another thing that was nice — they didn’t make us wait until our entire party was here to seat us — thank god, since some of us(not me) are chronically late to anything. We ended with dessert, where I ate some of the best baklava I’d had in a long time. Seriously loving the perfectly crispy flaky filo and just the right amount of honey. We also ordered the Ekmek Kataifi, which was a pastry topped with vanilla custard and pistachios that ended up being a favorite among the group. Definitely would recommend this place. I’d advise going on the early side, as it got crowded pretty quickly.

It was just ok not great, Could be the under enthusiasm of our server who was quite underwhelmed on this gloomy Sunday. The food was ok but not great enough to come back.

For the first time I enjoyed Greek food. Got the grilled octopus(yes you should order this one), saganaki(not shown in my picture but it was one of my favorites), pastitchio(most basic dish in our order) and some sort of beef patties with fries(quite flavorful but basic).

My boyfriend and I heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and we really looked forward to go there. I’m so sorry to say but this place is absolutely unpleasant. I made all in all two attempts to get there and I won’t definitely go a third time. It’s just crowded and noisy. The staff isn’t friendly at all, customer orientation seems to be a foreign word here. After my boyfriend and I waited in line for approx 30 minutes we got offered a high table(which was funny, because I walked on crutches at this time), I was pretty shocked about this inflexibility and was about to leave the restaurant. Surprisingly now it was possible to get a regular table. Nice try, but I decided to leave anyway. After a couple of weeks I thought I learned my lesson and tried to make a reservation. The person on the phone was just rude and replied: «we don’t take reservations» and hung up. Without a goodbye or anything else. I’m so so sorry, when this is customer orientation at your place, I’d love to spend my money somewhere else.

A Greek restaurant on the border of Chinatown is not something you’d expect. The restaurant is huge and they try to get the most use of the space. Décor and ambiance has some kinks to iron out. We ended up getting a seat in the corner and ultimately trapped in as the crowds surrounded the bar. Design flaw in my mind. Overall the food was good but I wished the waitress had asked how we wanted our meat to be cooked. She did mention it was her second day but this is something that you get trained on. We didn’t even know we had a choice until we got the check and saw she had chosen medium for us. We thought the meat was overdone given that our preference is medium rare/rare. Seemed like these are all things that could be easily corrected. It was good but it wasnt my favorite experience.

Kiki’s you’re killing me. Restaurants must hate me and I’m brewing up all this bad food karma with all my negative reviews. Fiancé sweet enough to take me here day after terrible meal at fancy uptown place. I’ll start with the good(besides nice ambiance) — the lemon potatoes. This place has got them down. Down to perfection. Tender, perfect lemon flavor. Most places do not get the lemon flavor! My fiancé had these with the chicken, that was raved about in a write up, but an actual chicken breast cooked by one of us at home would have been much more tender, flavorful at ¼ of the price of this $ 15.00 blah, dry chicken. Eggplant spread was average tasting — needed more flavor and would have been better served with a soft pita rather than too-hard toasted bread. Then my dish came out… the(have trouble now saying it.) Octopus. It looked great but I got a whiff of something very bad when it was served. And then i tasted it and good Lord, it was the most foul tasting thing I have ever had in my life. I ran to the restroom. It was rancid.bad. I couldn’t get the server’s attention for 15 minutes because she was talking away with the table next to us. When i told her, she took it away and came back later to say the chef said it was ‘overcooked.’ I stopped short of telling her it smelled like when you walk by a really baaaad smelling section of Central Park that 80 horses must have, let’s just say ‘visited’. Sorry– had to speak the truth here. No coincidence the table next to us had the entire amount of octopus left in their bowl while they were finishing their entrees. I give up entirely. This place was supposed to be great. I wish I was offered a free shot of ouzo to get over the sickness from that. Or at least an apology. My once beloved dish — grilled octopus– I am traumatized to order again! Heck, given my bad luck with meals the past few months, I’m banning myself from ever eating out again.

Two words — SIMPLYAMAZING!!! First, let me dive into the décor — a simplistic design where Greece meets New York with romantic ambiance just about some up the inside of this gem. After visiting Greece this year, this restaurant definitely brought a sense of nostalgia. Now, I must advise you that there is a wait especially if you go on a Friday night — a «well-worth it» wait that is. This is the first time I waited almost an hour to dine at a restaurant in NYC when there is a place to eat on about every city block! Now for the juicy stuff — the food. I ordered a Greek salad and the Moussaka. The salad was so fresh and the moussaka was definitely the best I’ve ever tasted. For dessert, I ordered the cheesecake and OMGOMGOMG … All I can say is order a way; it was simply to die for! Our waiter was super attentive and friendly. The service was superb. Kiki’s — you nailed it on the head for excellent service and food! I highly recommend this establishment and will be back in the near future!

The price is right. The chicken with lemon sauce is excellent. The saganaki has honey and wrapped in dough or covered with dough — I was not to fond of. I like it without the dough and honey. The moussaka is good but the mashed potato in it reminds me of a shepherd’s pie. I highly recommend the chicken in lemon sauce with roast potatoes.

Walked past this place a few times and due to the speakeasy like quality, had no idea it was a Greek restaurant named Kiki’s Inside the restaurant is surprisingly large with multiple rooms and dark décor. Grabbed a couple of window seats in the cramped corner by the bar but at least it comes with a view. Kiki’s serves solid food and gives you a good amount for the price. The zuchinni chips while tasty was a bit too greasy and the cheese that it comes with is a nice complements the saltiness with its creaminess. The grilled octopus was cooked very tender and the Pasticcio that I ordered was large and tasty but I wished it would have come with a side of veggies of some sort just to mix it up.

You like great food? Specifically from the Mediterranean region and not causing you to obtain a cash advance loan? Then bookmark kiki’s. New(ish) from the people that brought you Forgtmenot, kiki’s is a restaurant that can be everything to everyone. From overdue friend meet ups to the all important third date, the vibe caters to just about any situation. Is it the food? The ambiance? The service? It’s all of these wrapped up into one delightful culinary bundle. On the food side of things, nothing on the«small bites» menu eclipses $ 10. I use quotation marks because my «small» Horiatiki Greek salad was too much for one person. Especially if anything else is ordered to compliment it. The volume of plants included in the dish was remarkable, complete with huge chunks of cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, olives, bell peppers, and feta cheese. There’s no lettuce in the salad, so those chunky fruits and vegetables work wonders on suppressing your hunger hormones. You’ll find some items on the menu at higher price points, but you could stick to the small stuff and not break the bank. The inexpensive wine options are notable as well. You can get a glass for $ 8 or a delightful tin filled with ½ liter of red, white, or rose for $ 10. The latter is enough to make sure two guests are properly boozed throughout dinner service. Dimly lit and featuring friendly servers throughout, it’s no wonder kiki’s has received the early acclaim they have. It’s a must stop in this emerging nook between Lower East Side and Chinatown.

Went to Kiki’s with a friend the other night and it was great! My friend had been here before, but I had never even heard of it. The restaurant is actually a lot larger than I had expected and it’s a very warm & homey vibe. The food was excellent. My friend and I decided to share an assortment of small plates. We ordered the shrimp, grilled octopus, saganaki, spicy cheese, and zucchini chips. I loved everything. We also had a carafe of the house white wine, which was very delicious! Can’t wait to come back to Kiki’s!

Great décor inside. I was really excited to try the octopus dish but was disapointed by the size of the plate. It was smaller in person than what Unilocal reviewers had suggested. For $ 14, I was expecting a bigger dish. It’s about six inches in diameter. When I finally tasted it, it was underwhelming. It had a nice lemon taste but also a weird fishy taste that I couldnt pinpoint. It was soft and edible, but I didnt like it because i like octopus that’s a little bit chewy. Felt like it was boiled/steamed first then grilled. I had the moussaka($ 11) as an entrée. I like the greek styled shepherds pie, but mine was overly salty. Its a great cozy feeling dish, but I was wouldnt get it again as a repeat dish. My friend had the roast chicken with lemon potatos but she didnt really taste anything special. She said it tasted like regular roast chicken($ 15). Food is just okay here. Service is great. It got jam packed crowded around 9. We came around 730. Get there early to beat the late night customers! Would not go back again.
