No frills, cute coffee degustation stand; with happy barista. Serves cake, buns, rolls, croissants, fruit, cookies, juices and great — speak actually hot — coffee. Ask for an extra sugar to bring out flavor. They serve Java in cups; that actually do not leak on seam(light-years ahead of Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks). Vibrant colors all hours of the day. Positive influence experience in dull city! Amazing what a bit of simplicity does. Rebel Review: 5 stars.

Cheli’s smile greets me every morning I’m lucky enough to get a perfect café con leche at this incredibly compact, clean, friendly, delicious wonderful kiosk that has graced the corner of 1st Street and 1st Avenue for more than 20 years!

Feels like Brazil when I get the rio bowl from here. You wouldn’t expect a shack to have great smoothies and also good coffee, but this place does.

Great Acaí bowl. Good value for money and made the traditional way with apple juice, banana and granola. Little bit watery, but very tasty!

I’m a fan. I had never tried an acai bowl until Juicy Lucy, and I was impressed. Apple juice, acai, peanut butter, chocolate nibs, banana, and granola. Awesome. Delicious, and feels really healthy(I don’t want to find out if it actually is or not). Cash only, so be prepared. Staff is nice, coffee is good, a perfect stop for breakfast.

Juicy Lucy makes my heart smile. I was walking around the East Village on a hot day and Unilocal told me that I could find fresh juice and/or a smoothie at Juicy Lucy. It’s a cart on the corner of 1st Ave &1st St. They have fresh pressed juices(also ones readily bottled if you don’t want to wait and just grab and go), fruit smoothies, baked goods, horchata, acai bowls, coffees and teas. I got the small berry smoothie and carrot bread for $ 8 — which I think is a fair price. My smoothie was fresh and delicious! It’s cash only so make sure you have cash on you. The ladies who work here are super friendly and sweet.

Adorable shop that I want to like but today marks two consecutively bought smoothies made with unacceptably brown and bruised bananas that tasted nastyyyyy.

Great place for an Acai Bowl. Not to many places around that do the or do them right. Great start to a day.

Lovely little stand with friendly service that does fresh juice. My carrot/beet/apple was A-OK. However, the bottled Horchata(from their actual store up the street) was horrible. It said«made with rice milk» and sugar and cinnamon etc. and we had to wonder if they literally used rice milk from a container instead of making their own. Flavorless. But I’d come back for the juice.

I really love Juicy Lucy! the people who work there are lovely and in this era of uppity/snobby juice bars this is REALLY a big deal for me. The juices are yummy and I love the«shack» space, and sitting on the bench … it’s a lovely little juice joint. I do hope the nearby construction ends soon and doesn’t effect business for them.

I was craving some smoothies, so I found this shack via Unilocal. It is quite literally a shack in the Lower East Side with a bench on the side. I got this berry smoothie and the smoothie was pretty good, actually — tons of berries. However, there were definitely a lot of seeds that your mouth could pick out, so be warned. The smoothie was the most expensive smoothie I have ever had — it was over $ 7. Really? I thought Jamba Juice was expensive but this just brings it to a whole new level. Also, this place is cash only, so be prepared to drop the dollar bills!

Nice little spot to pick up a fruit, juice, or snack when on the run. Have hit up this nifty little juice stand on occassion when in the area. Nothing like fresh squeezed OJ. A bit pricey but worth the healthy benefits of doing something good for your body. They have different juice concoctions or you can make your own up. This tiny little booth has a small menu of smoothies, juices, coffee, and some baked goods to go along with your drink. Cash only!

It’s late winter, dark, 8 pm on a Sunday night — where will I find a healthy juice among the bars, delis and pizza places on 1st Ave? Lo and behold — I find it at the nexus of the universe!(1st Ave and 1st St) On perusing the menu, I find the pricing to be reasonable for fresh squeezed juice($ 2.99 for Chico 12 oz, $ 3.99 for Grande 16 oz, $ 4.99 for Super Grande 20 oz). I got the jr.‘s skin fixer(pineapple, apple and cucumber) in the Grande. It was great –naturally sweet from the pineapple and apple juices. They didn’t add any ice either so you’re getting your money’s worth. The place also advertised smoothies, hot soup and STRONG coffee. I will definitely come back for some of those things.

This place is great, I love the juice, its a decent price too, the people there are often friendly and the snacks great. but there is one thing I hate to write but must. Next time you’re there… look closely… See the Grande sized cup. next to the Super Grande sized cup…(the one you pay 1 $ extra for) Notice how they are not the same cup manufacturer… See how the super grande is taller, but thinner, the grande shorter but thicker… This is because they are the literally the same volume. I wouldn’t have noticed until something interesting happened the other day. I asked for a Super Grande but she gave it to me in the grande cup on accident, upon realizing her mistake she immediately pours it into a super grande cup, and behold, even to her surprise they are exactly the same! I came back the following day and actually poured a Super Grande into the Grande cup directly in front of the guy who worked there to explain, he stood there for a second staring at the cup then look up at me and said then. «Why do you want to be a dick?“Admitted it sounds slightly funny. but whats not funny… I went to Juicy Lucy every week day for the past 3 months, always ordering the Super Grande, that’s how much I like the juice there, I figure that’s $ 60 spent on nothing.

Wheatgrass shot. 2oz…2 dollars. Chea. Been coming here consistently for a year. Love their juices, love the Rio Smoothie, love the prices. I have my own juicer and often juice at home and the prices are pretty consistent with that. Definitely way less expensive than its other competition in the neighborhood, the Juice Press, but that’s because it’s slightly less refined.

CUTECONVENIENTJUICESTAND at the corner of 1st ave & houston st.!! they’ve got lots of juice blends to fit different needs(many are pre-bottled) & smoothies too! but i hauled my cookies here just to GETTHEFRESHLYSQUEEZEDOJ for $ 4.50! a refreshing way to stock up on VITAMIN C FORTHEWINTER! my only gripe is he wouldn’t blend me some ice into the fresh squeezed OJ, but i understand that not many places like to customize your drinks… i’m too accustomed to starbucks haha if you need a snack along w/your drink they have a few baked goods from other bakeries as well!

I say this for your own good: Do not skip dinner. Do not stay out drinking past 3 am. Do not drink with Australians.(AKA do not do jäger bombs.) Do not smoke cigarettes. Do not urinate in public.(Seriously, it’s illegal.) Do not agree to meet family in Brooklyn Chinatown at 11 am the next morning. But if you must do all these things, go get yourself a Hangover Cure at the outpost of Juicy Lucy’s at the Nexus of the Universe. The combination of pineapple, lemon and apple juices will do wonders for you, even if it is overpriced at $ 4. (Especially when combined with a bacon, egg and cheese. Or if you’re rich, a $ 10 everything bagel with smoked salmon, tomato, onion, and scallion cream cheese from Russ & Daughters located just across Houston.)
