Great atmosphere and good beer on tap! We only tried one flatbread and that was good… we had a great time !

Says it serves late night food, but it doesn’t. So disappointing. Bar was pretty empty at 12 am. Disappointing.

Very nice bartenders(mine was from Dublin). Excellent place to grab a causal meal with a nice selection of beverages. I had the Mac & Cheese bites which were very good and the Fish & Chips which was very good also. They use quality fish and the batter was not overly thick. The Irish peas were excellent also. Good value for the quality and nice atmosphere.

It’s a cool spot with cool bartenders. Food can be a bit small portioned but they are delicious. Beer list is pretty good as well, but some can be tad bit overpriced. Still would come back — small, cozy, and not crowded without the date feel but rather with tvs playing sports.

I been dropping by here after a long day. Grab a couple of drinks and a plate of comfort food is very relaxing. I usually don’t expect much when it comes to bar food, but I really enjoy dining here late at night.

Judge Roy Bean is tucked away right off of 5th Ave. The lunch specials are a great deal! Their Blonde Lager comes with the deal, and we both liked it. It’s very easy to drink. Check in on Facebook for a free rum shot! The burger had a fresh bun and was fairly juicy. The Greek salad was simple — tomato, olives, iceberg lettuce, onions, and balsamic. Great to visit!

Always walked by this place, but never went in because it looked so small. There’s a long bar that extends pretty far back with two island tables and four«dining» tables in the back. We went during on a Friday evening, so we saw the place fill up really quickly. If you’re lucky, you can grab a seat, but chances are, you’ll be standing with your drink. Great energy, good music, all in all very nice place to be. I’m usually not a fan of cocktails, but I have to say their menu really sparked my interest. They have quite interesting drinks and the ones I tried were all two thumbs up. Oh and we got a little hungry, so we decided to order calamari and wings to snack on. I need another two thumbs to put up for those. Another big bonus? Sports and fights! Glad I finally walked in here. I’ll definitely be back!

Stopped by for lunch one day when I was in town for work. Had the 007 drink before my food came and that one got me good. Great drink! Had the turkey burger and it was excellent! Get it with bacon and cheese. The only gripe I had was not enough fries came with it but I’m fat so I don’t need them. Great spot but I wish it was bigger. Would come back!

Stumbled across this bar after dinner nearby on a Friday night. Fell in love! Pretty laid back vibe. My friend and I were able to snag a few seats at the bar, and good thing, because there wasn’t much room elsewhere(perhaps more in the back, I couldn’t really tell). The bartenders were really friendly and we ended up having a great time hanging out and talking to them. We got a free shot of whiskey for checking in on Unilocal.Their drink specials on Friday nights are $ 4PBR and $ 5 Miller Lights. Very cozy spot if you’re with a small group and in the mood for a chill night!

Rating this place quite simply off of their lunch special. It really is a mix of joy and misfortune when you discover a gem late. I have been working in close proximity to Judge Roy Bean Public House for quite several years and it is only within the past few months that I knew this place existed. Don’t know how long they’ve had this lunch special where you can get either a burger with fries and a beer, chicken Cesaer wrap with fries and a beer or chicken parm with fries and a beer… for JUST $ 10! I don’t know how many of you ever grab eats around the 5th Avenue area but rest assured if you get lunch around here on a daily basis a good portion of your check goes to food/drinks around there. $ 10 believe it or not for food and drinks at a BAR nonetheless is a STEAL! Definitely appreciative to this in the cut spot for lunch when I do not have the time to cook something to bring to work. By the way their burgers are very good. I always forget the name of the standard beer that use that comes with your lunch but it is very good as well with no bitterness. Definitely on the regular lists for a go-to lunch spot.

Solid bar in an otherwise stagnant area of tourists and shopping. Stopped in here with the wife after shopping and needed a dry martini. Mostly a laid back beer bar, but the bartender put together a wonderful drink. Highly recommended if you need a respite from 5th ave.

Midtown. EW. Judge Roy Bean Public However, however, YAY. After a long venture out to eastern Queens, some new buddies and I decided to get off of the F at 57th and get a drink.(Because it was Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Of course!) My dear Unilocal App led me to this bar, and I am glad that it did. It’s crammed in among many other tiny establishments on 56th Street, adjacent to Benihana, it it was a breath of fresh air. Though narrow, the wooden walls and nice lighting gave it a homey and larger feel. The beer menu, along with the nice brown liquor menu, was extensive, and the bar bites were good as well! We each got a Not Your Father’s Root Beer(…and it sure ain’t!), and myself and another friend split their grilled cheese sandwich with fries. The bread was thick and the cheese was plentiful, and the fries were that perfect mix of crispy and a little mushy, with just the perfect amount of salt. YASSSS. It was all together a wonderful Saturday afternoon respite! Hell, I’d suggest this bar as a Happy Hour spot for the days when I’m working at my office on the Upper East Side. :-)

Judge Roy Bean Public House is just meh. The bar seems like a decent place to grab a drink after work, but there are no happy hour specials. However, the food is inedible. I came here for a quick bite with my family after a busy tourist day in the city. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was disgusting. The waiter said this was his favorite item on the menu, and I am not sure why. The sandwich was filled with processed ground-up chicken and made into a patty. After eating only a few bites of the burger, I felt sick. The other members of my table ordered the chicken wings, grilled cheese, slides and burgers. We were all less than impressed by the food, however the fries were tasty. I don’t think I would ever come back to Judge Roy Bean Public House despite the close proximity to my office. The lack of drink specials and the horrible food make this place a huge turnoff for me. Oh, and there is no way this is a gastropub. Gastropub signifies quality food, not meals that taste like poorly made frozen food.

I love this place! The service is laid-back and friendly. The bartenders treat you well here. They are very knowledgeable with their beers and liquors, and able to make food suggestions due to having a thorough understanding of their menu. Mark is an awesome bartender! They have a full bar with a wide array of flavored vodkas and an extensive selection of beers. Their Buffalo wings meet my native Buffalo standards. Saturated in sauce and crispy but not overdone, they satisfy my craving for an authentic Buffalo wing. Their steak flatbread is also amazing. The ingredients taste incredibly fresh, and it is filling, but not to the point where you feel terrible afterwards. The atmosphere is casual and cozy, with dim lighting and a cabin-like interior. I definitely recommend stopping in. You won’t be disappointed! Service, food and drinks all rank above-average in quality and are extremely fairly priced!
