1. They shrunk my clothes. Now my extra large boxers are maybe a small. 2. They are misleading with costs. They throw in extra charges they do not tell you about which causes costs to end up being pretty high. 3. The woman who owns and operates this place is incredibly rude and unpleasant. The young man who works at the front is incredibly nice, however.

I have been using Joseph’s for the last 6 months. Mark is amazing, super friendly employee — the woman who seems to own/run the store is unbelievably rude. I have decided to go elsewhere, even though Joseph’s is conveniently located close to my apartment. Bad service along with high prices — not a good combo.

I agree about the horrible smelling laundry detergent. They will however let you use your own and store it there, but you will pay the same price. I was a little bothered by it but happy to not have to go to a laundry may and thinking that I solved the problem, I let it go. Unfortunately my most recent pick up has half of my stuff smelling like their rancid soap and two more items were shrunk to within an inch of their life and ruined. Staff is very friendly which gets them and extra star and they are fast. The $ 20 credit card minimum is true, illegal and highly annoying. Unfortunately I have to search for another place.

Very friendly, professional, clean looking local place, that also offers a nice neighborhoody convenience of package holding. Unfortunately, that’s how many«I really wanted to like them» stories begin. I’ve done laundry there several times. The detergent absolutely STINKS. It’s a disgusting smell that lingers on you the whole day. It’s probably some really cheap brand you’d never buy yourself, but there’s not much you can do because they outsource laundry elsewhere(it gets picked up by a van), so asking to substitute a better or any other kind of detergent is kinda difficult(not clear how and if they’d be able to deal with it if you bring your own.) Large 75c /lb sign in the window is somewhat misleading. It does say«ask inside for details», but it probably managed to piss of many first-timers who didn’t, and then didn’t get what they thought they would. It makes sense only for large and pre-sorted orders, otherwise $ 7 for the first 5 pounds and the lights/darks sorting fee make it more expensive than the average $ 1/pound neighborhood price. $ 20 minimum for credit card purchases is another(illegal yet so widespread) minor hassle.

This place is great. My roommate and I take all of our dry cleaning here and they’ve always done a terrific job. They also accept your packages for a nominal fee if you aren’t home to receive them. Though some complain that they charge for this service, I say its New York and I’m glad to have someone there to do it for me. I would definitely recommend them!

One of the many local cleaners. They do a good job, but they don’t take credit cards if the cost is under $ 15, which is too bad. So I take my stuff down the street to Mac Cleaners which does, because going to the ATM is out of the way for me.

Hey! I’m the first to review… my friendly neighborhood laundry/cleaners. I take my laundry here. They do a decent job. Never had anything lost, but sometimes they forget to give you half your laundry. This happened one time and I panicked, but I just went back the next day and they had it for me. «We never lose anything» the guy said. Dry cleaning is kind of expensive here — $ 7 for a blouse, or pants. Laundry is a decent price though. I trust them. Never used these services but they also accept your packages when you are out(for a fee, I’m sure) and they offer to store your winter clothes. And once I saw someone getting a dress hemmed. Can’t speak to the quality of the tailoring because I’ve never had it done, but I think they do it here.
