JIN JIN seems to do a good job on my husband’s shirts and their prices are reasonable. They pick up the laundry on time and return it in a reasonable time. Unfortunately, their dry cleaning is poor. Sent a suit with some stains and it came back with more stains. Looked like splash from laundry detergent. Since I was new to this dry cleaner and I didn’t notice the stains before I wore it I didn’t bring it back. I just took it to another dry cleaners. All the stains came out.

If I could give no stars I would. I dropped my bridesmaids dress off in September 11 to be altered (sleeves shortened, taken in on the sides and hem shortened). I was told it would be ready September 23. I go to pick it up on September 23 and Jin tells me that she forgot to fix my dress. What?! Forgot? How can you just forget to do something that someone has hired you to do? She promised to stay late to finish it tonight, even promised to steam it. She delivered the dress to my apartment but wouldn’t come up to see if it actually fit. The good thing is that it fits. The bad thing is that my sleeves are not even and the dress is full of wrinkles. I am appalled that you can run a business like this.

Ms. Jin is an excellent seamstress.
The dry cleaning and wash and fold is the best.
I have been a long term client for years and it is a pleasure doing business with
Ms. Jin.
My son is so picky about the care of his clothing will only go to Ms. Jin.

in a city with tailors on every block, i needed Unilocal for the scoop. see… i had this bridesmaid dress, a tight one and i needed the skill of someone like ms. jin who could dissect it without ruining the design. homerun, ms. jin. what a difference a fit makes. i’m thinking about what else to bring. prices are reasonable. just bring cash or your checkbook.

Never had a bad anything here. I don’t get to take cleaning that often here but alterations… always.

I’ve been taking my clothes here for over a year now. Never again. I brought in a Simon Spurr t-​shirt to be dry cleaned. I unwrapped the shirt from the plastic, took it off the hanger, and it was CONSIDERABLY shrunk.
Here is my biggest problem. As soon as she took one look at the shirt, she told me that it had been «water washed» and accused me of putting the shirt in my regular laundry.
YOU DON’T HANG A SHIRT AND WRAP IT IN PLASTIC IF IT’S WATER WASHED!
She denied any responsibility. She called me a liar. She said I must have taken it somewhere else! She’s delusional. I’m getting fired up again as I write this. I can’t believe this happened.
Furthermore, she turned my white, Ritz Carlton robe yellow. Ruined. She also turned two of my white t-​shirts yellow. Ruined. She told me, «I can’t make everything white.» HOW ABOUT KEEPING WHITE CLOTHES WHITE???
I sincerely hope you do not take your clothes to this woman and if you’re my neighbor or not, I hope this review will help you to decide on taking your clothes elsewhere.

Ms. Jin is lovely, and her tailoring is high quality. She might not be your best choice for dry-​cleaning/​laundering, though.
She has a background in couture, it turns out, so she really is an authority in how clothes should fit. Her changing room is absurdly small, especially when filled with bags of laundry. Regardless, she’s a good choice for alterations.
But all bets are off when it comes to the laundering facility she uses. Several times, my husband’s expensive dress shirts have come back with broken buttons. She commiserated but said there was nothing she could do about it.
This last time, the facility actually replaced the broken buttons, but they used the wrong color thread to sew them on. I pointed this out, finally realizing that there’s something wrong with paying for someone to mess up your clothing.
Ms. Jin sighed and said, «Oh, they only have white thread in their machines. I can’t take responsibility for what they do.»
There are other cleaners in the neighborhood. Most think nothing of sewing on a couple of buttons gratis.

Love Ms. Jin! Came here based on other positive reviews and was not let down. Does a great job tailoring and will be honest with you about what’s possible and what’s not. For example she looked at a dress on me that I brought in and it was obvious what needed to be done to it but she said it would not look good if she did that. Every item she has altered for me has been done well and as expected. Prices are reasonable. Good attention to detail. One time I brought her a coat to fix the lining that was ripping and to readjust some buttons — after I picked it up and got home I realized she’d readjusted the buttons but forgotten to fix the lining. Brought it back next day and she was very apologetic and fixed it within the hour. Highly recommend!

I came here after reading the two other reviews because I just wanted to find a decent tailor in my neighborhood. I was a little put off when I had to change in a closet full of laundry bags. However, the lady truly knew what she was talking about with regard to the tailoring and she did an excellent job. And the prices were totally reasonable — perhaps because they do not
take credit cards. She will definitely be my future go-​to seamstress. A+
