Come on, you have to love Jimbos! Incredibly casual atmosphere, nice people(sometimes), good location(in my opinion), and affordable. I don’t think a restaurant has to be super elegant to be rated well on Unilocal and I can confidentially say that I would choose Jimbos breakfast over a lot of breakfast spots in NYC. Yeah, it’s not the fanciest but if you want to get a quick and cheap meal, this is the place to go. Don’t expect anything upscale because you’re basically getting what you paid for, but regardless, I love Jimbos. My favorite breakfast is probably from there — the sausage egg and cheese sandwich. Yummmmmmm

This was the second Jimbos opened in NY, before they became a mini franchise. My high school wasn’t too far so this was the place you went for the best breakfast or nice afternoon cheeseburger. The fries aren’t anything to write home about but with enough ketchup you can make cardboard edible.

I love Jimbo’s!!! If you stop in Harlem and in the mood for a good burger I recommend stopping here. DONOT go to Harlem Shake located right across the street. Jimbo’s gives you that classic burger taste, yummy and delicious. If you’re watching your figure, they also serve turkey burger. The turkey burgers are also delicious. Now if you’re in the neighborhood before heading to work. Stop by to pick up breakfast. They are usually open by at least 6:30am.

This place has it’s good and bad. First off… the price. I’m not too crazy about the price for the quality of food I’m getting. Could be a little better. The burgers are not handmade but more like those frozen burgers at the supermarket. Their bacon and sausage is cheap as hell, no flavor at all. The service is pretty cool though, the guys working there are fast and a cool bunch of guys. The very worse part of it all is the location. OMG!!! It’s like the walking dead in Harlem. Huge amounts of recovering addicts come in and out of the establishment selling stolen goods or to use the bathroom. The guys who work there are passive so they come in and out as they please. Last time I was there, a crackhead lady was complaining about all the piss on the floor… I was sitting no more than 10′ from where she was standing and I was so grossed out, I paid and left. Btw, they charged me $ 8.50 for 2 eggs 2 sausages w toast and an orange juice… I was like NEVERAGAIN…

Dogsitting for a friend of mine in Harlem, I wanted a big ol New Yawk city cheeseburger. Kennedy’s chicken wasn’t cutting it, so I ventured out to Jimbo’s on a whim. Good gracious, was it worth it. I got the super 7oz bacon cheeseburger and devoured it within minutes. It took all my strength not to immediately walk back and get another one. I got this order to go, so I wasn’t really paying attention to the atmosphere, but the waitress who took my order was very pleasant. Cash only, though. Does anyone else think all these cash only restaurants must make a fortune off ATM fees? Sigh. I’ll deal with it for bacon cheeseburgers.

They make a half-decent terribly greasy breakfast sandwiches that I sometimes order for delivery at work. The hamburgers are actually pretty decent also deluxe with fries as long as you practically scream at them to not put mayo on if they are delivering. They will literally drench the burger and bun in mayo if you are not careful, effectively, ruining your lunch. I also love the way they pickup the phone in the morning saying ‘Jimbo’s’, it’s got an almost commercial like ring to it.

I like the old school luncheonettes style with the long counter. I got a torta which was a special of the day and it was excellent. Prices are fair. I will definitely be coming back here.

Now that I no longer live in Harlem, I really miss Jimbo’s. I used to go probably every other week for three years, so it was a staple of my(horrifically unhealthy) diet. But for $ 5, you get a burger that’s cooked right in front of you, complete with cheese, sauteed onions, and a generous helping of fries. By the time you get it home, the fries might be a little soggy, but you don’t go to Jimbo’s for gourmet cuisine. Few things got rid of a hangover faster than some greasy Jimbo’s. Oh, and you can get breakfast all day. Yay!

Always consistent and exactly what you expect. Love that it’s close by and they are always responsive.

Jimbo’s burgers are cheap($ 5 bucks regular or up to $ 7 bucks for the extras), greasy and good. It’s cool to get when you have a lil buzzie buzz and you need some oily goodness to soak it up. I usually just get a hamburger with everything on it.(including onions, in case you don’t care for onions… I love it myself). The staff could be a little on the rude side when you go at night when they are interested in cleaning up and ready to go(Geez. if you’re open deal with it!) There is a new location in Harlem at 116th Street between Park and Madison(closer to Madison). I haven’t yet tried this location but I’m sure it tastes the same.

wedged between 124th and 125th streets in Harlem, this restaurant is one of many«palaces» in a chain in harlem and manhattan. this is certainly a «palace» if by «palace» you mean greasy spoon with free restrooms for non-customers staffed by all mexicans. not sure why the all mexican staff wouldn’t cook really good mexican food instead of greasy burgers and limp fries but what are you going to do. the free bathroom aspect brought in a lot of traffic past the three tables and food counter. the burger itself was unremarkable but I could see how it would be amazing after a night out.
